2400 mAh Extended Battery w/ Back Cover+Kickstand $14.30 SHIPPED - HD2 Accessories

I searched the forum, and only found a thread pointing to an ebay auction for $5.00 more with a dead link.
Plus it includes free shipping.
For $13 it's worth a try.....
Are we allowed to link?
DealExtreme

sounds to good to be true... I wonder how does it compare with the official one.

Buying it right now, but are you sure it has a kickstand ?

Yeah in photos there is a kickstand attached to back cover.
Give us a review when you get it. Am interested in this product.

can you post any pics?
what are your thoughts on it?

Nice news..

Old news... Try it and send feedback.. although i think there is already a topic for the specific battery and the feedback is not so good... Anyway i think it is very useful if you want to carry a small hydrogen bomd in your pocket...

i will order this, to night and post foto's of it when i got it @ home
this is worth to try

twist me, this is not a exdended battery...it hold only one day..
what I have seen is that you can charge it with android...
so this is a proof that it s not exdended...
DO NOT BUY IT!!

I bought this battery from ebay
and it is the same as the link in the 1st post. It charges fine with my MIRI ROM. Saturday I was working at a flea market for 8 hrs and we were checking the weather radar on line all day, etc. 78% when I got home. Regular battery would have been about toast. The cover clipped right on my 9193 like it was made for it. I cut a form fitted hole in the back of a cheap gel case and it works like a charm. You can use the kickstand this way. Gives a better hand hold with the bulge and does not seem any heavier or bulky in my pocket. Certainly not enough to make a difference. I could carry it every day without any problem and I am a skinny runt. I only need it for extra long days.
Just a note from someone who actually has one.

Maybe i am stupid or something but if u readed the builds of android and followed the logs of HTC linux etc, u would see 1 thing. They have already support for Extended batteries in the kernels.
So search before u say its fake.

Hi, I had bought a replacement normal size battery on ebay some time ago. When it drains down to 20% the phone shuts down, so basically 20% of the capacity cannot be used. Can you please report if you have such problems with this one, or not? And how tick does it make the phone look? Can you provide some pictures of your phone with this battery from different angles?

Thanks a lot for your feedback. It seems to double the thickness of the device. I'm not sure if I can live with that.

It's likely half the rating if that. There's a reason these are so cheap. They're crap, and fake.
Best scenario: Everything works, albeit the battery doesn't last as it should.
Worst scenario: Ends up breaking your phone.
Yikes. Yeah if the voltage wasn't 3.7V I'd stay away from it - my initial thought was that they might not be Li-Ion. Do they have a factory in Hong Kong specializing in printing fake labels to put over old 1000 mAh batteries? lol. Well I'll let you know how it goes, either way I was told it "shipped"...
I'm running Codename Android 3.5 with the latest stable Air Kernel at the moment, and that gives me a good 3.5 hours of screen time and 30 hours running time in general typically between charges - with my old-ass original battery. Maybe I should just be happy with that and not take the chance of plugging this guy in :/
He's got a 99% feedback rating and 700 sales so we shall see.

It's a worst case scenario. Most likely it will simply not hold a good charge. I don't believe they have a factory specialized in printing fake labels. They just have a very optimistic way of calculating these things.
Then again, aren't you surprised they can cram supposedly 2450mAh in the same format of a quality Samsung 1500mAh battery? That's more than 50% added to the OEM battery in the same size battery. And for cheaper.
I got this rule in life, but even more so with chinese electronics. If it seems too good to be true, it's probably too good to be true.

So I'm sure you've all been anxious to hear what happened with the miracle battery. Lol. Got it in the mail today. Which is funny because the day after I ordered it I called him out on the fakes... he ended up giving me a refund and it was processed. Ha! O MAN! i got excited until i read the comments
I just received one of these (charging up now). I will report back with performance results after a day or two of use.
Does anyone know of a tool or utility to verify the stated capacity of the battery? I used battery spy but it didn't really have a stats page other than to see the graph of power related activity. My son's battery has been working fine for the past couple of weeks. He seems to get about 36 hours runtime with WiFi GPS and sync on. No 3g data plan just a my5 talk and text. Typically 3 hours screen time, 30 mins talk time, over that 36 hour charge. If there's an app for this let me know and I'll put up some screenshots.

@dartmouthy
In order to properly test your battery vs stock one, some battery testing software is needed : obviously:
Look at these apps
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.NanoDinamics.NovaTester
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.batterybench&feature
note: the first app's description is in russian but app language is in english and it does give exact capacity in mah and both app take long time for testing.
Choose app you like and if you or your son have enough spare time try to test it out. Also state what ROM and kernel you're using. Then we can see does battery really have stated capacity.

Does it feel a lot thinner then the N4? My wife has an HTC One and I love the thinness of that device. My N4 feels like a brick next to it. Do you notice much difference when holding the N4 and N5?
Also, how is Kit-Kat. Dies it feel like much of the same? What about screen size? On a 4.7" screen the nav bottons feel like they take up way to much room. On a 5" screen, do you now feel like there is plenty of screen real estate to do what you want to do?
And last for now, how does the screen quality compare to the N4 or any other top of the line phone out now?
Thank for any responses....

Doesn't feel any thinner to personally, When I lay the N5 flat next to the N4 is actually pretty level due to the camera hump.
Kit-Kat is smooth and really responsive, the translucent Status and Nav bar is a great touch imo.
The screen real estate is ok for me, especially considering this is about as big as my hand can support with one handed use. I'm sure as soon as custom roms start coming along we will be able to utilise PIE controls again.
In terms of Screen quality it's really sharp but the colours appear to be slightly washed out but once again I'm sure custom kernels will remedy this.
after some time please share battery life impressions.. !!!

What kind of battery life are you getting?

Hey everyone,
I was checking out the battery stats thread over at the m7ul forum, and I was blown away. People were getting 5+ hours screen time, no problem. Obviously, we can't reproduce their setups; our phones aren't compatible with their ROMs.
So, I thought this thread may come in handy for those of us struggling with battery life, and would like to know what kinds of numbers can be achieved. Post your battery stats here along with your setup. Include ROM, kernel, tuning, services, etc. please!
I know the Sprint M7 is kind of a dying community, but hopefully we'll get a lot of participants.
*ahem*
Wow guys don't all post at once.
Anyway, I guess I'll just share mine to get you started.
As you can see, my battery life sucks. Not sure why, because I'm running SD 9 with Kangaroo, and I installed Amplify to reduce the Google Play Services Wakelocks. Also, power saver is on 24x7. If anyone has a recommended setup, that would be great. thanks!
install greenify this will help you significantly increase your battery life https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify&hl=en
The sound of silence...
Yeah, hopping place ya got here. LOL. I've ROM hopped all over the place, tuned and tried apps, prayed to the dark lords of battery power, all to no avail. The M7's battery life simply stinks. But, it's a supercomputer in your pocket, so I kinda have to think that's fairly amazing. I use power saver mode ALL the time, never have a need to crank it up, I turn my brightness down to the first bar on the quick toggle when I use it and the lowest setting for just glancing and messages, Beats off, NFC off, any radio I'm not using off, GPS off and in battery saving mode. I stream via Bluetooth for probably five solid hours at work and I can make it all day with some texting and make it home, so I can't complain. But, if I'm streaming, talking, surfing, and such, I'm glad I carry my charger everywhere I go.

Well you can't objectively say it's battery life "stinks" because there are definitely people out there getting absolutely incredible numbers in the int'l forum. I just wanted a Sprint specific thread so that we could replicate the setups of people having great success.

That's actually the reason I created this thread. I want to see if there are any Sprint users who can actually get that kind of battery life. So far, it seems that they can't.
I would hate for that to be true, but I've never seen a Sprint phone get those insane numbers. So, it's possible that Sprint's network is a battery hog. But we can't conclude that unless absolutely nobody posts a good setup.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of us left, unfortunately. Must of the guys I knew when this thing was hot jumped to the M8 when it came out due to the problems this phone has. There's not alot of devs out there making ROMs either, though in HTC's defense, Sense 6 was so awesome there wasn't a huge need to go crazy. The one thing that has always been said though, is poor battery life. I'm on SkyDragon v 10 now with nagging wife kernel and I'm not too unhappy, I can post my stats for fun tomorrow. But, do us unstock guys count in your test?

OK @#$% this, I'm out.
Ugghhhhhhhhh why. I used to have TMo, was happy with it, got caught into sprint with gimmicks. I hate my life.
OK it's not that serious, but why is this?
8/5 means 60% EXTRA battery life. That would explain how the people in the international forums get such insane numbers.
So, what's the best we can do with our measly Sprint phones?
3.5 hours Screen on time
I'm using a Sprint HTC One on a GSM network in India. I get on an average around 3.5 hours of screen on time.

Setup and screen shot would be nice, though that's a far cry from the 5 hours in the int'l thread .

I'll be switching to T-Mobile when m9 comes out. Mainly because of the sprint "wait now" network. Have been wanting to switch for years but figured I would give them a chance to fix it.

The m7 on sprint has bad battery life. If all I do is browse the internet on WiFi and text I can average 4 hrs SoT but by then my phone is already about die. This is only on sense sadly I get worse SoT on AOSP

I started a thread on this, but I'll guess I'll ask here too.
What percent of your battery usage goes to Android System? According to GSam. I've noticed that the GSM guys have app usage in the high 20s or mid 30s. Mine is in the mid 50s. The Android System battery drain and kernel wakelocks are the issue here.

From what I've heard, poor signal on your sprint phone decreases your battery life. My average is around 2 hours OST within maybe 13 hours of use? I gave up on trying to make this thing last more than a day

That's absolute crap compared to the international guys.
And pretty close to what I'm getting, though mine isn't that bad. I can get 3/15 ish with my setup. If you want, I can pm you my setup.

【GUIDE】 How to make ANY PHONE Waterproof / NO CASE / NO NANOCOATING / VERY LOW PRICÉ
Hello, everyone.
Now, i'm going to tell you, how to make ANY Phone / Tablet / Device water-resistant and Dustproof and also a Little bit Scratch/Damageproof/resistant.
Please read the Advices before trying this at home‼
No Nanocoating
No Case
Not Waterproof from beginning on
No Haox.

I don't want to say that because saying that súcks:

Téser
It costs very cheap and will work.
I did that with a Galaxy Pocket, Star and a Young 2 (the Young 2 died in 50 Seconds because of a big lack. )
You just need to stick it overall on the phone (Speaker, Charger Port, SD Card Slot and Cover and overall where Water goes in first.)
So good so far?
Then you glue all free places and push overall to avoid lacks where water can go in. The more Glue, the less lacks.
Did you get it?
It also makes less sense to Put Glue ON Glue because there will be less patches for lacks. Always Glue there, where many Glue Tapes Cross each other. That makes bigger sense to close more lacks.
This will only make your phone TEMPORARlY Water-Resistant. Don't overestimate it.
If you use more Glue, there will be less lacks / more waterproofitý.
WARNINGS:
If the Order of apps in the Menu Changes, Turn your phone off and stop exposing it to water
Don't blame me if you make a mistake yourself
If the Touchscreen's Reaction get's Worse, also switch your phone off!
And also stop, if bubbles come out of the phone.
If a bubble comes out, there's possibly a lack, where water is entering...
If the Internet/WiFi/Network/3G/4GLTÉ Connection gets unusually weak, pull the Phone out of the Water and Turn it off.
Also stop, if the phone behaves like unusually.
First try with an old and useless phone!
Saying this sucks, but i take no response for any damage.

2 Hours of Shower
I took the Galaxy Pocket (GT-S5300) 2 Hours with to the Shower (yes, i know 2 hours is very long but because it was so exciting :laugh nothing happened
And then i took the Galaxy Star (GT-S5280) into the Swimming Pool.
I went very deep underwater with the phone.
I also took some recordings (uploading/attaching comes later on ) and also nothing happened. (Water Temperature 27°C)
But i did put the Ýoung 2 into a pot, filled with Water (about 16ºC).
Because i was sooo exited, i did not recognize bubbles going in.
The Phone Stopped Recording Video (CameraMX)
The Touchscreen Stopped working.
2 Minutes later the Touchscreen started working again.
And then about 30 Seconds later the Screen Started Flickering...
But i managed to repair the phone

GUARANTEE LOSS Advice
Please stick Glue on the Indicators and over the Battery and also all the holes in the interieour of the Phone (if the Battery is Replacable), to make the phone more Water-Resistant and to AVOID GUARANTEE LOSS‼
This was such a good idea that I decided to do this not only to my phone but every electronic device in my home. And my car. I can't get in it now, but who cares?! IT'S WATERPROOF!
Wow... Amazing... I dropped my phone in the toilet and inadvertently flushed it!! I immediately went outside to the manhole, opened the cover and made my way down. What do I find among my dung? My phone!! And it survived!! Thank you soooo much you saved my life!

In all seriousness though, I hope your intentions were satirical, @Hannah Stern.
If you want a waterproof phone, buy a waterproof phone, please, for humanity's sake.
Did my whole house.
It worked with a very old xperia arc!!! It's now my brother's phone to use on the pool and get underwater pics
I made it with a wide tape (kind of the same used for sealing boxes, but totally transparent), with only one layer of tape, so it doesn't get too bulky or obstruct camera lens. Then I applied glue with a small paintbrush in all the parts where tape overslapped (the glue was "boxer" or "matilda's super super glue" alike) and let it dry for 3 minutes, then applied again.
It works like a charm!!! No signs of water entering the phone even after 2 hours of pool time. The only downside is that you can't use headphones and everytime you charge the phone, you have to replace the tape that covers the usb port and apply the glue again, but in return you can get a waterproof phone at a very low cost!!!
Oviously, do this only with an old phone that is not your daily driver anymore, and that you do not care too much if it dies....
Thanks Hannah!!!
I just done it in my Kyocera Brigadier with hardened case and now my phone is over IP9000 certified bottom of the ocean-proof, explosion-proof that Micheal Bay cant make it go BOOM ), lava-proof, nokia-proof and also turn into a weapon when zombies strike )) *just kidding*
Thanks Hannah, now my M8 can swim ))

Mine is rooted with all the deepsleep fixes but still the same thing happens to me. And I cant find whats causing it. No wakelocks, no apps that would drain. It just seems like the battery acid magically vaporizes overnight. If someone can help us with this issue, please do. I'll be grateful.

If you look at the graph, till 10pm the device was fine. Then I checked for the time on the phone and let it just sit there. You can see the steep part where it's draining like hell. Then it stopped. Then it started draining again. I haven't touched anything on it. Just checked the time by clicking the home button. It just happened. I have no idea what's going on. I swear if this doesn't stop after marshmallow I'll snap this phone in half and throw it in the trashcan. There is no way someone could use this thing with this type of issues. I'm done with samsung.

Well, you see this whole problem comes from the fact that samsung doesn't open its sources to developers. No one knows what's really going on underneath the system. What kernel is really doing and what hidden services the rom has. The developer support for exynos devices is very little(thanks to those who are still trying despite the closed source code). My nexus 6(which I'm currently using instead of the note 5) had poor battery life. But thanks to open source kernel and aosp, now my n6 lasts me days with single charge. If anything happens, devs are fast to patch it up. So i think jumping straight to iphone is not really necessary if instead you can buy devices that welcome the dev support and community and are also more fun to use than iphone.

Yeah, no that's not it. I use the original fast cable charger- the same thing, and I use the wireless fast charger(yootech) - still the same thing. I don't think it's a hardware issue. I hope it's not, cuz I got no warranty on my N920C in the US.

I charge mine overnight as I get to the end of the evening and its on 20% max. I will try to charge mine when I get home this evening and see what happens overnight off charge........I suspect the wifi will drain the battery as a minimum. Have you tried it with wifi off?

Did you rooted your phone ever or always stock? Actually i just try to understand a theory real or not??
Peoples talking about a chip, which is cracked when you root your phone and never let you reset your knox counter? and same chip, causes deep sleep issue! i want to understand, if deep sleep issue just for rooted phones, then this theory maybe true and this is so bad for samsung!!! but if same issue happens to completely stock and original phones (i mean non-rooted!), then this theory is a crap!
1) Do you facing this issue with never rooted phones?
2) when starts to drain your battery? after an update or install an apk?

As per their own statistics in the Battery Menu, I have no app that is "over consuming". As you brilliantly explained before, maybe Samsung is just not showing all the info? I might bring it to an official Samsung Store and ask them to change the battery at my own cost (even if it is still under warranty, because they will never replace it for free if they do not clearly identify the problem).
And if the problem remains, yep, I might become a youtube speaker showing how long a Note5 can survive in a washing machine.

no no as I said in my initial post, this device is almost new, has never been rooted and the only updates done were from the OTA process inside the regular menu....

Don't pay for the battery replacement. Tell them the issue and show screenshots. Ask for a solution. If they can't identify the problem they should give you a new device. You shouldn't pay for something that wasn't broken by you.
By the way, I'll be waiting for the washing machine video if anything... that would be so satisfying.

slept with 70%, woke up off, no more battery. And you know what? I also activated the super energy saver option that turns the screen black and white with very limited apps. It was giving me an estimation of 25 hours. More than enough to spend the night right? But no. Which makes me think more and more that this is a hardware issue... Need to find some time to drop it to samsung and update you...

Let us know what happens after you take it to the repair center. I personally blame the issue on a core process that eats up the battery but doesn't show up in the wakelock detector and the battery stats. It really happens randomly which makes me think that there is some switch in the system that clicks and doesn't click back making some process drain the battery. And it's also not a deepsleep issue so makes it even harder to guess what it possibly can be.

Thats kernel issue 'IMO'.. I would prefer you to root and flash a custom kernel but as you know it will trip kn.. bla bla. I've faced the almost same problem with yours(Last %23 battery had gone in 6 hours, I thought it will sleep deeply but found it dead when I woke up in the mornin ). It was my bloody first day with my phone(btw its s6e+) and boom after two days rooted and flashed custom kernel Till now(and will go on) it was sleeping like a baby when I turned the screen off. (Extra: DS Battery Saver app has good options in the deep sleep case, >>HERE<< )(For Rooted devices).
Edit: If wonder; my deep sleep time is just %3 for 7H 41Min. See the attached shots
Sounds like a kernel or hardware problem. But, can you try something that helped me before, maybe it will help you as well?
Try to charge the phone with a regular 2A charger (I had my note 2's charger handy). Believe it or not, I said farewell to battery drain on my phone. (I used the note 2's charger for a few days, and then switched back to the fast charger and everything is fine: I get ~5h SOT before the phone reaches 5%).
