hi im using at the moment Evil's nxsense and i noticed some roms like this include more languages, after see a thread about MiUI ROM to translate i was wondering how i can make SPANISH language for the ROM , there is already spanish BUT its from spain that differs a lot with LATINAMERICA, i try what its on MIUI ROM at least on Evil's ROM
and i couldnt find the settings.xml
under
framework-res.apk and neither under /system/app/settings.apk
there is no Value folder, and i cant see a settings.xml to edit the language i search with no luck. any help?

The Value folder is secure there is some program's u can use to unlock the apk and show all the folders >>>> i want to know what is this programs

To all the professionals out there, can one of you guys help me out here. I need a Dutch CAB file for HTC enlarge start menu. Because when I change the MUI with resco explorer that does not help, it still freezes the start menu. It seems to work only on English diveces! But after some googling I found a french CAB and it worked for al the people with a french ROM. So I thought if I had a Dutch CAB for my Dutch ROM it would also work for me. But I have no idee how to change a cab file's language. Please help!!!
download wince cab manager, u get a 30 day trial, and its pretty easy to use

i've never done any translating before, but i believe this is how you do it. extract the 0409.mui file, open it with a resource editor, translate it to dutch, then u rename the mui file by replacing the 0409 to watever the ID for dutch is, and replace the mui file in the cab with this one.

what are you exactly asking for? a wince mgr liscense is 100 unless you are a developer i dont think that is for you.
I need "the HTC enlarge start menu" CAB for a DUTCH ROM, the MUI is 0413, that's about all I know. Changing the MUI file after installation isn't working. The start menu still freezes.

I found an easy way to do the translation , but still takes some time.

Its been talked a lot how to change language in roms. but not realy how to translate.WHot I did aftre trying again and again:
extracted from wwe rom mui files.(YOu can downlode eng.zip with mui files to start)
then unsighn .eng.zip files are alredy unsighned.
The tricky part is that YOu need PE Explorer and Restorator 2007.
those 2 programs give the best solution for editing mui files.
open PE Explorer then select resource viewer/editor
and go to menu folder duble click on resource and translate whots in caption window.
the same we do with Dialog folder.
save
now open Restorator 2007 and edit String. (By editing string with PE Explorer it messes up the mui file)
dont forget to enable edit mode or press F6.
and edit like
18001, "Simple PIN\0x00"
whot is in red
Save
Now YOu need to sign the file with siggner ( can be found on this forum)
move it to phones memory card and with Resco explorer move to windows dir.
replace existing file. reboot
Generaly thats all

there are Language Extenders for Pocket PC
the latvian did not work with wm 6.1
so easy way to translati is open original mui file in one window and the extender language file in other and copy-paste the text to otiginal file.
esti.zip is just files for looking, copying thext strings. do not use them in YOur phone. they will not work

this works in wwe rom.
try soft spl.
english mui files dont mach with dutch rom. You need wwe rom to play with mui . or edit dutch muis

as the language files have to be cooked in
you can change manilla language
there is a app for it in theme's and apps or use bsbtweak but its only manilla whats changes
try manila language manager
you will find it via the search
You dont find it with search! i have youst tried.
well only thing you can do is consult your chef and cook it yourself,or ask him to do it
or completely change the rom (try kwbr it kicks ass)

You need to decompile the apk. Then look at the file called strings.xml in the values folder.
I am attaching the original strings.xml and the German modified strings.xml from the Theme manager app for the 1.1.26 miui ROM. Compare those files for a better understanding.
I included the German strings because i think the language seen in the snapshot is German.

but those chinese stuff isn't in the ThemeManager.apk. I alreday checked it by using a english string.xml.
Everything turned to english (of course), but the signs were still there :/

I found a way to add additional lang to settings!!! we must edit firmware apk
1) use apktool to get xml sources
2) create in res folder new folder with name like strings-ru (for russian language)
3) translate xml and put in our new folder
4) compil framework-res.apk
5) profit!!! Lang will be added automaticly!!!
