Update: I figured out the issue
So, I had my device rooted and attempted to install the Voodoo lagfix. I had the SRE 1.3, but I didn't apply the one click lag fix. From what I found, there shouldn't be any problem applying the voodoo lagfix over the SRE kernel. Anyways, to be sure, I reflashed my kernel back to the stock JH7, and used the update.zip method. I got the robot voice telling me it was done, but it stayed on the ATT startup screen for, well, EVER. It never booted up past that point. Worried I had done something wrong, I reflashed, and ran the remove lagfix thing as there was a voodoo folder created. I tried it again and I got the same thing.
Again, I removed the lagfix, reflashed, and tried again, but this time, I fell asleep (for 8 hours or so...) and it was still at the ATT boot screen.
Am I doing something wrong?
Note: I do have my device overclocked (as included with the SRE build I used). Would that matter?
Thanks!
Looks like the overclocking wasn't compatible. This thread can be closed/deleted. Thanks

It would be cool to see an Odin 1 Click for the nubs (erm me) who flashed without disabling Voodoo and are now getting errors similar to this:

Pretty much my phone is bricked - and I am totally and 100% completely blaming myself for being a n00b. (In my case though... I was installing the circle bat mod and it hung on "framework.apk" and fubard to a black screen after having to pull the battery)
So... anyway to get an Odin 1 Click - doesn't have to be all that clean.. just enough to get the phone back up and running with the Voodoo Lagfix so we can DISABLE the damned thing and go on our merry way?
Thanks
I've done the same thing. Tried flashing without disableing voodoo. Is there anyway to restore back to stock.... The phone is stuck in the phone computer exclaimation! I found a kernel that has voodoo in ext 4 but odin only shows file analysis. Vibrant users have a Bionix fix, does captivate users have anything similar?
i have never disabled vodoo...flashing to stock from cogv2.2b7 i used odin 1 click and i was on stock......no errors whatsoever
You guys are not bricked. Search out the Odin threads. I am not terribly familiar with Odin but many have recovered from your state. You can also go to the cognition thread and use search function. How to recover from this has been covered multiple times there.

Hi peeps, sorry if this is a repeat or nooob thread.
Here's how it went:
I flashed JM8, then to JP6 Froyo, then I rooted using CFroot, then I apply Voodoo 5.
All is well until I apply Voodoo. The market was lost and my quadrant is about 1540 but still kinda laggy.
So, I reflashed everything once again.
I "disable_lagfix" on Voodoo and went through JM8, JP6, CFroot again.
After completion, I deleted the disable_lagfix file.
I played with the phone the whole day and thought I had Voodoo enabled. But my quadrant is only 977 now.
So, do I have to Odin flash Voodoo again? I want Voodoo but I don't want it if it clears up my settings and apps. Yeah I can restore them but it takes super long time and I don't want that.
Suggestions please.
Thanks to mods for moving it here.
I need to find out if I can install OCLF 2.2 over Voodoo 5 pre6. If yes, do i need to disable voodoo first?
Am I also doing it in the correct manner? I already have Voodoo 5 flashed to my phone.
Lastly, if this is indeed possible, what are your feedbacks? Did SGS improved? Did it lag again after several days?
didn't work for me. got a black screen once it loaded up. probably did something wrong but you could try it and report back here.
I just installed the latest Galaxy S Lagfix from Voodoo, but every time I start my phone I get a Galaxy S i9000 splash now. Is this normal? Is there a way to remove it?
I believe there is a way to remove it, I do not believe it is something you will be able to do, or is worth the effort
What kernel did you flash
I believe that image may be in the kernel. I might be wrong though.
I'm on Build 1010. Within 30 minutes of getting it out of the box I rooted and put Serendipity 2.0 on.
I used One Click Root and Odin3.
Almost a week and NO problems what so ever. Many re-boots and what not as well.
I have the Galaxy S load screen as well. Honestly, it has to be perfectly normal.
So I've flashed about 15-20 different ROMS on my Captivate. I used ODIN the first time. Every single time since then, I just did a TiBu, copied that to my external sd, and just downloaded the ROM straight to my phone and used ROM Manager. I never disabled lagfix or flashed back to stock. I also haven't had problems. (I bootlooped once, but that was when I tried to disable voodoo lagfix by creating the "disable-lagfix" folder in its directory.) Is this dangerous to my phone?
I ask because today I installed Firefly 2.4, and I read that the speedmod lagfix is disabled by default and needs re-enabled through recovery. When I did it, it did a full nandroid backup and restore. Is that normal? I've had very little experience with messing with the lagfixes.
Anybody wanna be my hero and enlighten me?

do not worry, that is normal ... you should be fine.
