Hello, I was trying to cook a slim version of the R3A ROM by stripping out all the unwanted stuff from the stock ROM using the Kovsky Kitchen which I downloaded from some link somewhere. I decided to try out the leaked R3A Panel Manager and the beta MXP panel as both of them seemed to be faster than the stock version. But now, whenever I try to boot/reboot, instead of loading the MS Today panel, when the device is booted, it goes to the panel selection menu(the one we get by pressing the XPanel button). I tried to trace the problem and found that the ItemActive registry key was set to -1(ffffffff) instead of 0(00000000) whenever I select the MS Today panel. This was not the case with the stock Panel Manager.
Is there some way for me to fix this?
Is this a problem with the KovskyKitchen that I used?
If so, then, can anyone give me a download link to a kitchen that works fine with R3A stock ROM?
Or is this a problem with the R3A panel manager that I used?
I downloaded the panel manager from the wotid.com xperia panels page

I have recently installed Duttythroy 3g Comm Manger. After installing it did not work. It went to a black checkered screen with nothing on it. So I removed the program. Now when I select my Comm Manager icon it still pulls up this non working menu and I have no way to access my comm manager. Can someone please help?
Hard reset?
What ROM and radio are you using? Have you tried reinstalling a cab of your previous comm manager?
Did you make sure it wasn't running & then reset after installing???
use the advanced configuration tool (search for it in the Kaiser upgrading forum)
Interesting question..
I have the stock ATT FUZE rom. I hard-reset which wiped out my device clean and after the first reboot.. right before it said it was 'installing ATT fluff', I soft reset it again.
This gives me the basic ATT ROM without all the fluff and I can manually add existing CAB files already loaded. (yes, this is not as clean as flashing with a cooked ROM but works for me for now). This works for me.
Question is:
How do I get Manila/TF3d to autostart?
TF3D does not load automatically. I have to go to \windows\manila.exe to launch it. I created a shortcut to \windows\manila.exe in the \windows\startup folder but it does nothing.
TF3D does not show in the TODAY ITEMS.
I tried launching \windows\ManialActivateToday.exe but it does nothing.
I could always flash this ROM or do the full ATT install and start removing programs... but prefer to just keep what I have and autolaunch Manila.
What are your thoughts on this?
A quick search would yield the answer. There is a looonnnngggg thread about skipping customization. I know because I started it. You have to install a cab out of the windows folder to make manila work.
ahhh.. even though Manila worked fine by skipping the customization and launching from \windows\manila.exe, looks like you do have to install the PT_Manila.cab to make this happen. Thanks for the tip.
is there a way to completely disbale/Remove panels ?
i found and staled WM6.5 Rom i like and i like the default WM6.5 UI and i dont need the pannels or pannel maneger etc.. i can remap the X key to work as Start button using AEBplus
but i want to permemantly disable is so it dont load into memory on start up...
Go to windows/StartUp and remove PanelManager.ink
Then the panel manager won't load on start
You also need to delete the panel folder in the registry. I think its under software/SE/
I ve just posted a small guide on how to completely remove panels by re-cooking gtrab's ROM using his kitchen.

Hello,
i've started cooking my rom (it's in italian..so 0410 files), but when i press the camera button nothing happens. it isn't a button mapping problem because also clicking on the exe nothing happens. i've removed sompe packages from the EXT. also i've tried to install the cab of the R3A camera, same thing...
The package name in \EXT is called "Camera_1_0_20090108_MR1_R23" (yes i know it's from R1, but with the R3a you don't have the auto-flash)...
can the package of the camera work stand-alone, or does it needs another packages\.xml\anything?
thank you
Found the problem: i had deleted ConcurrenceMgr, but it is needed for the camera
I've been trying to build my own ROM using osKitchen. Everything has worked and I've been able to upgrade a stock ROM to build 23569. The only problems I've had are with the panel and camera software. The panel and camera buttons on my phone don't work. Pressing either of them will give me an error that the program that should be launched can't be found. CameraRunner.exe is in the Windows folder. I am able to launch it but none of the icons for the UI and menus appear. I am still able to take pictures.
PanelManager.exe is different. When I run that I'm presented with a black screen. I am unable to do anything to close it. It hijacks the Today screen. Other than that the phone will still work normally.
I assumed that these problems were caused by changes I made to the ROM but that doesn't appear to be the case. I imported my stock ROM into osKitchen and built it without changing anything. The resulting ROM had the same issues.
I searched the forums but could not find a solution to this problem. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance.
For CameraRunner.exe, did you include the Xperia camera package?
For the Panels, you probably excluded one or more packages needed for this to run proper.
try this camera package

I initially thought that might be the case but I tried building the ROM with all original packages included and without any modifications and it still has this issue.

The package didn't help. Pressing the camera button gives me an error and the icons are still missing if I run CameraRunner.exe manually.
I was using OSKitchen too, having troubles(Not sure how to get it to the next rom or w/e) anyway to get camera to work, I used the X2 Camera Update as a package Use the Package Converter option up the top > choose cab > choose the camera > tick it > build ROM > Install ROM > Camera should work
Also my panel manager didnt work through OSKitchen either.
I figured out the problem. The alpha version of osKitchen doesn't copy the PROVXML files into the ROM, which means that the files for the camera and panel software won't be moved to their correct locations. The old version, 1.30v3, doesn't have this problem. The camera and panels work in the ROMs I've built using that version.
glad you could work it our
can you pls change thread title, like add [SOLVED] and rephrase to better describe the content?
thx a lot, appreciate your help
I added [SOLVED] to the title of the thread but I don't understand what you want me to rephrase.
hey, I meant it like this: you don't have problems with the file in one of the custom roms available here (with the need to just reinstall it) but while trying to cook your own and the problem was kitchen (oskitchen, alpha) related, so it would be nice to have that in the thread title to clarify the content and that it's dev related, nothing more, just a suggestion
thx and best
