I can't get Orb or Androrb to stream video (HD OTA Recordings) from my Windows 7 Media Center. Live TV also will not stream. Anyone else having this issue???

If we are talking the free version of orb, then yea it works fine. Looks like crap but works.

Orb works fine for me. Quality of the video blows, but it does work with windows 7 Media Center.

its in the market for free and is pretty sweet if you have dnla devices... too bad this program is not a dlna renderer... that could allow us to stream videos and whatnot (to the gtab) without all the trickery of cifs samba etc...
perhaps dlna will one day support windows media center so that it could stream content. i have an ocur mcard tuner and wmc7, would be cool to control or stream my tuners (ceton infinitv 4 tuner, one mcard) to the gtab (never miss a thing or need to pause if i have to poop, just bring the tab with me lol)
or, use the tab as a "settop box" by dnla streaming (as a media extender) to any tv in the house.
but this app is cool nonetheless, works great with my evo

It does stream to phone
Install XBMC and the Windows app
Then choose remote source on the Android app.
You can even turn on sharing with windows media player.
mind you i didnt get it working with the gtab

UPnPlay works great to receive streams from DLNA machines -- I use it all the time between my XBMC host and my phone or tablet...no SAMBA or CIFS required

win7 does not allow streaming any recorded tv (with cablecard) to anything else but another win7 machine that is part of the homegroup (or media extender)
nonetheless, the new app for dlna is awesome for those of us with capable rendering hardware, samsung tv works great and both audio receivers i have support it just fine.

Hi to all.
I have a PC that streams with vlc palyer a tv signal with http protocol.
I can see this stream from any PC on my lan with vlc player.
My question is, is there any android app that can play this streams ??
Except Vplayer which became payed and complete crap compared to the older versions there are no other alternatives.
Try servestream. It's free. I am using it and serves its purpose.

It's not an internet stream. I stream a specific tv signal from a pci tv tuner with VLC, only on my LAN (in my house). So i can see this tv stream on any pc in my home.
I have to investigate more about the stream. Maybe i use wrong video codecs.. I don't know yet, but i'm still searching.
Thanks again.
Hi,
1) After weeks of looking for an app that is similar to AirVideo (Ipad), I came across Emit. However, I am able to hear sound but not picture. I've tried with avi,mp4 and mkv. All with same result. Has anyone have the same experience and know how to fix? My DS 7 still has OS 2.2.2 but rooted.
2) Does anyone know any similar app that allow to stream video from PC, but not playing on PC as the same time lik Emit or AirVieo(Ipad).
Thanks
You can set up plex media server on your pc and install the client on your tab. that's what I do

Install subsonic on your desktop, then the subsonic client on your Xoom. Best streaming solution I've found.

This is the correct answer. I highly recommend it.
I use zumocast. Works great for me. For local files, Rockplayer lite plays everything I throw at it. There is also a pre-Alpha release of VLC for Android out that I use sometimes.
I'm looking for the most efficient way to stream video content from my macbook to my nexus 7, What is the most reliable way to stream my content without having to plug in and sync? I tried vlc direct pro for android but apparently the web interface on vlc 2.0.3 isnt working or something. HELP!
EDIT: Just saw another thread similar to this... SORRY!
I have used AudioGalaxy in the past. Fairly simple and easy to set up and it works with the macbook.
I don't have a mac, but I'm sure plex would work well. It works great for me.
Just did this last night but with a PC but it will work:
- Plex server, WWW.plexapp.com (newest version spits out DLNA so no more transcoding needed most of the time)
- Skifta
- MX Player with the ARM-Neon add on/plugin
DLNA goodness all up in your shizzy

Another vote for Plex. Works great streaming my ~4TB media library.

i cant get plex to recognize my mkv files...
any other servers out there that can handle 720p mkv?
i know this might sound daft....but i use splashtop for streaming content from the lappy to the nexus. It works for all video types and the audio comes through fine aswell
Splashtop streamer is not available for Linux it seems :-[
Another vote for Plex, works great with my file formats, including MKV, just be sure Transcoding is enabled and the computer is fast enough to transcode.

Running Linux. I think I need to get the beta version of plex, but I can't seem to make that happen out of the beta repo I put in my sources
