I just installed voodoo and then used oclf, but now my accelerometer is all jacked up, anyone else have this problem or know a way to fix it?

Stupid question but why would you put oclf over voodoo
Captivate
Cog 2.2
I saw it on a forum, and after I did it it went from a quadrant score of 1600 to 2300, so it works but the only thing that doesn't work is my accelerometer

What Rom are you on? The only suggestion I can make is to remove one of the Lagfix. Or flash back stock. I would search the thread or even just Google your problem. Someone may of had the same issue and found a way to fix
Captivate
Cog 2.2
You're kidding, right? Please tell me you're a troll and you didn't really put OCLF on top of voodoo.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
That was a sarcastic way of saying take one of the lagfixes off.
Plus it doesn't help

Don't put OCLF on top of anything.
If you're interested in something faster than voodoo, check out SetiroN's kernel and/or the ROM's that use it. Such as in my sig.
What's the quadrant score on that?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Quadrant score has nothing to do with how it performs.

The last two lagfix options in SetitoN's (or stutzy's) kernel are basically the same thing as oclf over top of voodoo - though the on only thing that would be good for is quadrant scores, won't really notice much of a real world performance dif. And that kind of lagfix combo is really going to cut into your available space on your data partition.
Then what would you recommend performance wise
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Honestly you sound like a noob and SetiroN's kernel requires a certain skill level to install / debug because it is still in alpha stages.
Just stick with Cognition if you want my advice. It is plenty fast, has a great battery life, and automatically works with Voodoo. And it is fairly stable. OCLF on top of it will not help.
In my experience SetiroN's kernel has better performance but takes a cut in the battery life and also has some wierd bugs.. you don't have full functionality in every way... lots of people like it... but if you want my recommendation it's going to be a lot of work for you so go with Cog instead. if you go with setiroN expect to put in a number of hours learning how to get it working.. and expect a few people on that thread (not setiroN) to flame you if you post a question about hwo to get it working. last night there was a lot of drama. larger point is you will probably get criticized there from a few bad apples.
I am a noob, but I can figure stuff out, I'll give it a try. Thanks.

I am currently running Cog rom SetiroN's kernel with jfs advanced all jfs lagfix and I am happy with my phone's performance.
Don't know if this is the best performance or not as that is somewhat subjective as to what will rework best for every one on their own phone with their own configuration.
My recommendation is run what you want to run on your phone. If quad scores are important oclf type lagfix's that make some type of buffer that sets on top the data partition will always outperform in the quad's input/out bench mark and get overall better quad scores, but the buffer wil take up valuable space on your data partition.
The only way you can know for sure what works best for you is to try them out, do some actual time trials and stress tests with the apps you use and pick which one you like best.
What ever lagfix you choose make sure you know how to properly disable it when needed before you actually install that lagfix.
Ok cool, I really like cog ill try putting SetrioN kernel on it, thanks man

So I mistakenly installed the i9000 voodoo lagfix kernal.......problem is.no voice calls on my phone. I'll tell what state my phone is currently in, and where i'd like to be, and any help i can get would be greatly appreciated.
Current State:
Firmware Version 2.2
Baseband Version I897UCKB1
Kernel Version 2.6.32.9
Build number Froyo.UCKB1
Phone build 1006
rooted/shell rooted/market enabled with SuperOneClick
I disabled the voodoo lagfix but still have the I9000 kernel apparently (splash screen and no voice calls)
Where I want to be:
Stock Froyo
Rooted (which I know how to do)
Voodoo Lagfix built on captivate kernel, not I900 (because I like to talk on my phone)
That's all I want. Odin1click seems to not want to work for me anymore, unless I'm apparently doing something wrong in my method of operation.
I cannot seem to find a stock Froyo rom? Maybe I just don't know how to search the forum, because I can't ever seem to find anything very easily.
Please someone help me, this is my only phone, and I had to borrow a laptop for the night, to fix my phone.
well........nevermind, imagine, after a giant pitcher of amberbock and a shot.......
first thing i do when i come home is get the correct kernel with voodoo lagfix installed
wtf. no more I9000! So I think I got to where I wanted all by myself, well i mean I didn't make all the oneclicks but you guys know what I mean!
edit: i did a quadrant, I feel I have the stock kernel installed but not lagfix as my quadrant is only 900 something? doesn't seem right cosidering
i was close to 1800 before on i9000 *sigh* Still would like to find a stock ATT FROYO rom Just in case
Quadrant means nothing. I ran two benchmarks one after each other with the same setup and got 900 and 1500. It only looks big when you compare it.

Just look for the voodoo folder. If it is there then it is installed. As for your scores that seems about right for a stock Tom, the i9000 Tom's will always be faster as they are more updated

Yeah that was for the universal lag fix. Not voodoo. As long as it is there and no disable lag fix folder then you are good. It would not have carried over as the stock flash wiped it when you flashed the update. Not sure if he is as he doesn't have the device. And they are building kernals on more updated stuff then 2.2. Only time will tell if he does. I am more looking coward to the 2.3 port lol

i am using cog 4.1.1 and i am having problems with my data my sisters phone has a strong 3g signal and mu cap is only using egde.
i am new to flashing and all i want to flash a new modem
cog uses Baseband I897UCKB1, Kernel 2.6.32.9
waht is the fastest modem or raido whatever i can flash to using cw
i want to use hsupa or 3g what ever the fastest is battery life is not a problem
I9000 modems have faster data but if not paired with i9000 kernel bluetooth will likely not work correctly
CM7
You're looking for modems, and that is ENTIRELY dependent on where you are in the world.
Cog 4.1.1 would be using the official 2.2 ROM as a base, so I'm not sure if these modems would help out... As far as I know KB1 is the only working modem with that version of the ROM (I'm not 100% on this).
I would try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=835272 for the moment, but like I say I'm unsure how updated that topic would be (the latest few posts will definitely have something about KB1 there)... I'll can go through some quick research for you to make sure, but I'm at work right now so I can't at the moment :/
A quick scan through the latest posts seems to say that JK4 and JPG and KP1 modems seem to work best for some users. (Again, not a 100% sure thing).
Hope this helps at least a teeny bit.
I used secret code in sgs tools and enabled 3g and hsupa and It is working fast now something around 1857kbs down and 367kbs up. At 4 bars

I think the modem I have now is horrible... im running serendipity 6.2 and I can't send a message with 4 bars of 3g. And someone sitting right next to me using an iphone sends a message less than a second... what do you guys think??

Speeds as fast as Wi-Fi ? What kind of internet connection is that ? For me , my internet is 15:1 mbps (download:upload) . The speed on my phone is no where near the speeds on wi-fi .
EDIT: I'm getting 3:1 Mbps on my phone through data . I'm on CM7 , Escapist's Kernel with JL3 CM7 modem .
In order to get the "fastest modem" , you have to test out all the modems given to you for your kernel . Some modems are better in other areas , so you just have to test . For the Captivate kernel , the latest modem (if I'm not correct) is KB1 . Try it out and see if it makes things any better . I liked the i9000 kernel / modem combo better because of HSUPA enabled and the features it gives . I got speeds as high as 4:3 Mbps .

You may have an issue either with the flash or something else is conflicting because I am running the same thing and have zero issues always have a strong signal, actually have a signal in places i didn't when I had the stock software- don't think it is the modem they use jk4 as a default modem most roms use the same
I would suggest you go over to the serendipity Q&A section and post this info. so the developers can help you work out your issues- response is pretty good
If there was a definite answer to which modem was fastest don't you think that it would be the standard for all roms? Just like which rom is the best is highly individual

Im using the znkp1 modem with serendipity 6.1 and paragon 1200 kernel. Voice quality.and.signal are great here in south florida.

I have noticed that when I click a button, I usually have to wait from 1-2 seconds before I get a response. Would lagfix take care of this? I'm running stock Froyo.
As many have stated all the lagfix does is help fix the very slow rts file system, it most likely would not help in your case.
Best thing to do is delete unused apps, and reboot the phone every day or to(seems to help mine out, cant guarantee results)
Also if you havent needed root in 5 months you probably don't need it
Unless you want to use opitimised roms, I dont see why you would need to root. Check your memory usage delete unused apps and reboot the phone ever once in a while.
My honest opinion, no reason to have an android phone if you are not using roms

Gonna have to agree with mcord here. had to go back to stock froyo for about 5 hours (didnt have all my tool to get back my 2.3.4 ROM) and it was horrible.
you might not be up for it but i really recommend flashing a Froyo Custom ROM from one of the xda DEVs. you'll love your phone and be amazed that it can be so much smoother and responsive.
First thing I did after i rooted was flashed a new kernel to overclock. Performance increased but battery life was poor. Then my first rom was cm7..been hooked since..tried miui once then went back to cm7.

Providing arbitrary benchmarks does not seem like an actual reason to employ a lag fix.

No a Benchmark score is not the best example to lag fix your phone ,but the more power you get, plus better battery life and, better perrformance are great reasons to lag fix your phone. I just posted the quadrant score so kb0npw can see the increase performance from normal rfs file system to ext4(lag fix).

I dont think he thought it meant everything, he was giving a simple before and after which showed some improvement. Quadrant can actually be pretty useful when trying to gauge what effects certain changes have on your phone, say you score a 1900 before you change 'x' and then 2200 after that change, then you know its increased performance somewhat and youre moving in the right direction. How much it has increased your performance is debatable, however. My point is quadrant can be a useful tool when making changes on your phone if you take it with a grain of salt.
EDIT: To answer op's question, Read up on some custom roms and flash one, the difference is phenomenal and you'll wonder how you went 5 months without them. If you have any other questions feel free to pm me and I'll see what help I can be
i go a used D3 yesterday. a factory wipe was done, and it was already rooted for me. i rerooted it because i did not see superuser. i am running adw witch does run better then stock launcher but the phone over all is really laggy, kinda like my droidx on froyo was...
this is why i wish i had an SBF for 959, aside from a factory reset again, is there anything in i can do to try and make this run better? im wondering if it is slow because of something the previous user did? and the camera takes AT LEAST 6-7 seconds to load up EVERY time, and it takes for ever to get into focus sometimes...i hear great things about this phone, but so far im not inpressed at all..
thx all
The camera does open very slow. The phone shouldn't be lagging though. Only problem I ever had was with stock launcher. Don't know why this is happening to you.

Check your apps, might have a strange one.
Sounds like something is chewing up your CPU, restart phone and then do some tests and benchmarks, see if your getting average Droid 3 performance. This phone is faster then Tegra phones in most cases including games.
when we get some roms, kernel tweaks and cm7 then this thing will fly.

I ended up going through almost every app i had and checking the refresh intervals to make sure it was limited. also i would limit the accounts you have synced and if you can use the 3rd party apps so you can get better control over how it behaves vs. letting motorola settings take over.
I've had mine for about 24 hours and it doesnt lag processor wise, of course without 4G some of the higher quality data transfer will be slower.
