[Q] Info on SD Partition sizes - G1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Before anyone flames me, ive looked everywhere for this information and cannot find what i need in a simple answer.
i formatted my sd card months ago and started to have issues just recently so i decided to reflash and tried out a different rom. Super E
i forgot what i partitioned my card into and would like to find out what the swap size was. is there a quick simple way of doing this. i do not have swap enabled at present and was thinking of doing this now but want to know what i set it as last time.

Just google partition programs. I was going to upload a freeware 1 I had but it's a bit over the 8MB limit.
Partition Master is the name. Good luck.

[Q] Wrong partition size on my N7000

Hello folks.
First post here on XDA but I use this forum since I bought my Defy a couple of years ago.
Here is my question and sorry about my english.
I was a victim of Galaxy Note softbrick some months ago.
I did revive my device with the help of some tutorials, especially the one from forest1971, which helped me a lot.
But I noticed the partition size of the Internal SD, its completely wrong.
Instead of 16gb, it's showing only 4gb.
I tried several custom PIT files, original PIT file from Samsung and no results at all. Always showing 4gb.
Is there a way to revert my partition to the original size? Some partition manager or stuff like that.
I miss those extra 12gb because of photos and games.
Any kind of help and advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Hmmm tricky indeed;
i found this url
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/SD_card_partitioning
which shows how to partition your sdcard, internal memory should be shown aswell, you could try to partition and format it [on your own risk].

Thanks for the answer.
I tried this program and nothing happened.
It still shows only 4gb on the partition.
Now I saw the partition program, I just recalled I formatted the partition on recovery. Maybe that's the problem, but I can't find a way to format it back to the whole space, the 16gb
Is there a way I can do it?
Thanks for any help!

[Q] Ext 2,3 Partition failed

Hi all
Im not sure this question has been asked a lot or not. I already search same ques like me but none exactly same.
So here is the situation. I do have sd card 2GB in this old Salsa. It used to working fine because i did managed to create ext 2 on the sd card last time. But few days ago the sd card got error ( suddenly it cant open all apps in partition. force closed). So i decided to format and create ext again. Here the come issue. It just seem i cant manage to do it. I did all the drill using minitools, delete partition, create partition etc. Once applied the partition will become unallocated. Can anyone advice me on this?
Thanks!!
ps: i attach the print screen as well.

Firstly ext3 partition,
Secondly primary and not logical type
From what it looks you did everything right,
Anyways reduce your partition size to maybe 250MB or so.... It might be a reason
Sent from my GT-P3100 using xda app-developers app
u may want to set partitions as active too

[Q] Internal Memory Re Partition

So, my friend needs to repartition his Note N 7000 (INDIA VER). I had flashed the Resurrection Remix earlier on but he wants to be able to use his entire internal memory. I want to know the best way to go about re partitioning the internal memory. Can anyone guide me on this? I haven't done these stuff in a while since i got my 4th phone (Xperia C, same problem of internal memory) but I am still fairly informed with these stuff. So no worries if you have any complicated steps ... although simple is easier
On the xperia C, there was a command on terminal emulator and a zip flash. Simple. Anything similar?
P.s: Sorry for the long post! It just feels good and different to be back on Xda forums

The coincidence is too eerie. I just got an Xperia C3, rooted but mine has the full 8GB space allocated instead of the usual two internal memory partitions. Installed 1.3GB worth of apps and still have 1.42GB available
For the Note 1, use this link

Thank You for the quick reply! :good:
And the first thing i did with my brand new Xperia C was root it the day i bought it and re partition it lol. My brother and friends were flabbergasted.
And I never really understood the logic of having 2 partitions in internal memory...Weird. Glad it's no longer in practice.
Will report how it goes.

Galaxy S3 Mini GT-18190N 4.1.2 Create Second Partition with SDcard?

so lost!! please help!
hello there
i have the galaxy s3mini GT- 18190N
uk resident
carrier T-Mobile
android version 4.1.2
kernel version 3.0.31-1436784
ive had the phone for some time now and obviously internal space has became a problem so i looked around the net and it seemed that the first thing i must do was to root the phone....
i rooted with the main intention of being able to put my apps into my 32gb extsd card
secondly to perhaps upgrade the OS to say lollipop
thirdly to maybe try out some of these custom roms ive read so much about.
so i did root the phone using kingroot app, this seemed to help with the speed of the phone/reduced lagging and such but not with internal memory.
i then looked around for a solution and the general answer was to install link2sd and app2sd.
i installed both but had no joy due to no 2nd partition on sd card.
this led me to downloading rommanager (which apparently can create a 2nd partition on the etxSD) well this is when i realised my noobness knew no bounds, because for the life of me i cant seem to be able to do it lol
i looked around again and read as much as i could in regards to creating a 2nd partition on the extSD but again have not found a clear (complete and utter noob proof) guide to do this so am now stuck in limbo
ive read so much this last few days about flash/roms/internal sd/internal phone memory/external sd/nands/backups/backdowns/backflips ect. that i feel completely lost.
i understand this is probably a very tedious request to you more educated folk but what i would like to know is:
1 - can i return my phone to stock settings? (what it was like before i rooted) will this delete all the changes ive made and apps ive downloaded? and is this the best idea? to start all over again from scratch? if so how?
or can i download a custom rom that already has these settings? by settings i mean the ability to move my apps to the external SD? if so, how?
im really sorry for being a pain but my brains gonna explode.
please help
thank you
anyone that can help me please
I had your same problem twice. I just forgot to set the new partition "active".. Did you already check if the partition is primary and active?

hey thanks for the reply!
erm.... how would i do that exactly?
ive downloaded rom manager and tried to create a second partition using that, but that doesnt seem to work either?
i am close to just giving up to be honest, got a 32gb sd card and it just sitting there gathering dust while my internal memory is sucked dry of any space.

You can create and manage partitions with your pc, you just need an adaptor and than you can use "MiniTool Partition Wizard Free" that is a free partition manager tool! :good: Right click on the partition and then "set active" (both partition are primary, but one fs is EXT4 and the other one is Fat32, set active the ETX4 one) :good:

Partition Mirco SD and Enable Unified/Adoptable storage

Hi All,
I have a 64GB class 10 Micro SD card in my s5 running 6.0.1. Is it possible for me to partition the Micro SD card and then enable Unified/Adoptable storage on one partition?
Thanks
is there anyone who can help me out please?
ive tried to use a few apps to partition the SD card but i cant find a way to get my device to pick up the 2nd partition. I have tried to partition the second partition as ext2,ext3,ext4,fat32 and f2fs, but it wont mount the partition after boot.
Also im now running 7.1.1.
Any advise?

Pssst... I hate to break this to you, but there isn't yet a way to make a 2nd partition. At least not one that I've found yet.
I've put some hours into experimentation on this subject just to come up with nada, zero and zilch. Nothing.
My friend, this is an unsolvable puzzle. Be well.

Hi Curtex,
Thats a right shame. I've been trying it for the last day or two to no avail either.
The issue i found with adoptable storage was it doesnt stop the "internal" storage getting full and its hard to migrate data to the adopted storage as i cant find a way for the phone or my pc to tell the difference. I tried to move all my apps to the adopted storage but they lagged way to much, even though i have a UHS-I MSD.
Thanks
geez man, what a google search would tell you:http://www.phonearena.com/news/How-...rage-on-Galaxy-S7-and-S7-edge-no-root_id79189
theres even this which works great on my S5:https://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-s2/general/patch-adoptable-storage-enabler-t3460521
