I dont mind at all. I'm really not going to have much time for the vogue anymore anyways as I will be focusing on the Incredible. If Dzo releases a new Fresh Froyo, I might make a rls16 but other than that, probably not. Thanks for all of your efforts. Much appreciated.

i would actually like to thank you not only for your builds but i actually found an old theme porting guide that you posted on here and it used it to do my first theme port it worked almost totally without a hitch

lol. I just went back and read that theme porting guide that I typed out and it seems alot more complicated the way I wrote it. Im glad it worked for you. Glad you were not intimidated by it. Maybe it needs better wording.lol

haha it really wasnt that hard esp since i had used 7zip a few times before

WOW Myn has been hard at work.
one question please:
from a hardware stance the desire and incredible appear to be similar...
will the roms will cross over as well? due to upgrade soon and want to keep my options open
thanks in advance

tips the scales
wow, i was kinda iffy on getting the evo when sero premium became available... in less than 10 minutes... this definitely tips the scales in favor of the evo!

Thanks for all the kind words guys .
I really miss the Vogue forums and this great community.
Incubus, We need to talk Warm TwoPointTwo has been ported to the HTC Incredible. I just need to confirm it works.

Hero is definitely a different animal! I'd love to see it on that device though.
INC and EVO are so similar, porting is litterly a 1 hour process.

Good job, myn!!

I want to say thank you to the developers, you have made my time here fun. To the people who don't think their opinions are superior to yours, enjoy yourselves. To everyone else... you need to stop and have a reality check. Your opinions are not superior to anyone else's, no matter how much you believe it to be.

You may want to include a short explanation for each ROM category (AOSP, Sense, New Sense, Senseless) as well, because the differences between, say, an AOSP and Senseless ROM are difficult to understand for many newcomers.

Please continue to leave suggestions for the thread. If it gets too cluttered with my silliness, I'll just make a new one (v.2). But I will definitely keep this up to date.

Since the G1 and the Mytouch 3G both got Honeycomb roms is it possible that we can port it to the Hero as well considering that the Hero and those other two phones have somewhat close specs?

I wasn't trying to trash you, just making a point that people need to learn how to search. While I admit 3.0 seems interesting, so does miui, sense 2.2, sense 2.3, AOSP 2.3, windows, palm, meego, etc. I like the stuff the dev's do for us, I just personally don't feel the need or see the benefit of posting new threads with this stuff. I figure if a dev wants to go for it, they will, and if they do, I'll try it, otherwise I just like what I can already get from their hard work, and I donate for that stuff. Just my opinion, no offense. And as for the link loop, lol, you will notice I did sorta go off on one of the OTHER threads started after yours.
Dev's are not just gonna feel like doing it unless they now ppl are interested. Someone in the G1 forum thought why not and posted a thread to see if someone would start it and they next day or so the had Honeycomb.

[Q] Just got an HTC HeroC, root and update?

First post here
Had a Samsung Moment for my first android phone and had messed with it but was very unhappy with battery life. I have gotten (a used) HeroC and am looking to update to 2.2 or higher if possible as I would like to have the app2sd option since I am running out of space stupid quick. I am not looking for anything fancy although Sense would be nice to keep. So with this in mind I have 2 questions.
1. What version would you guys suggest.
2. Where is the best and easiest instructions to follow to do this.
Thanks!

First, the best advice you'll ever get on xda is search and read. Second, aospCMod 5/16 is 2.3.4 and based on CM7, it's amazing. For the sense look go into general android themes and apps and look for sense theme chooser themes in the theme chooser sticky thread. I hear NTsense is nice.

That is where it becomes very confusing while searching. So I find the following link http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=CDMA_Hero_ROMs which shows "aospMod - (11/5/10" but you suggest aospCMod 5/16. Also I am seeing references to radios? I do not recall stuff like that when I was messing with my Moment.
Not trying to be difficult, just trying to understand fully before I do this. I am not planning on getting into trying a bunch of different ones, I want to pick something that is solid and reliable and does not break anything. I see some references to the camera and other things not working sometimes.

Thanks poashll. Was able to follow and almost everything is running smooth. VVM not working but I know there is a fix for that, just hard to understand the instructions. My other issue I want to get fixed is with the clock. I can pull it up but if I try to set an alarm it force closes. I find no threads on this issue.

There's a penetration testing thread in the tp2 forum that works for many HTC winmo phones that I've been playing around with on my fuze.
I'm still pissed that it got made a legacy device when it did. At the time, there were at a page of new posts everyday added to the dev section. And they weren't noobs asking stupid questions in dev either. On top of that you had the moto backflip and other crap which had no dev support period being added every other week.
From a chef, what do you think would be cool to do to a non daily driver touch pro? I can't bring myself to put that thing down.

I too have the good ole TP ( Fuze ) Will never give it away - and yes me too way very emotionally attached to Fuze dev section - but sadly we had most of the ROMs discontinued - I discontinued mine also ( for public ).
I think only NRGZ cooks regularly for Fuze, TAEL, JMC etc etc all were discontinued or were no longer supported. Hence, it makes sense to send it to legacy devices - and hey it's not that legacy devices sections are not accessible just a click away.
Well I just play with my Fuze cook a new ROM once a while - just use it for a couple of hours in a week - if I;m feeling nostalgic - I just use it for a day or two.
Won't sell it as it will fetch me pennies compared to what I bought it for.
And I agree, some devices have disappointed as hardly anyone develops for them - but now we are much more careful about what we add and what we don't.

BinDroid ROM Coming Soon, Need Assistance

Hello XDA, the last few weeks have been a little crazy around here and we lost some great devs. As a result I've gotten the bug to mod ICS myself. I am on the BinDroid team but for the last 6 months have been working two jobs and I have two toddlers so my dev time have been almost zero. Anyway, I have been working with DutchDanny (he does all of the images for BinDroid) over the last few days and have the beginnings of a BinDroid Vivid ROM.
I have a pretty thick skin but hopefully the drama won't be to bad. That being said I am still working two jobs so once the first beta comes out updates might be slow. As long as you can deal with that BinDroid might work for you.
I do need a little assistance to get the beta complete. Neither frameworkres.apk or SystemUI.apk will recompile properly, even without modification they will not recompile. I tried using UOT Kitchen as a shortcut, but it can't recompile the files either. Is there a dev out there that has had any success decompiling and recompiling those two apks? I just need to mod a few XML's and add a few new one to get some animations going.
If anyone has any dev or mod experience and you would lik to help, that will speed up the updates Danny doesn't have a Vivid so he is working on the Sensation XE right now.
I'm sure we will all be patient with your work. Most of us understand and are grateful for any type of development at all and welcome all of it. Honestly, you don't have a lot to worry about, our vivid section isn't too bad. There were only a few rotten apples that ruined it for everyone. Can't wait to see what you have in store.
Welcome~
Well, I hope this helps

This is great to see. I used BinDroid on my Inspire at times and it was a top notch ROM.

Thank you CP and BC! Some of us noob types are going to try and play along as well. After we get some experience, I'm sure we would be happy to help with things as well. Good luck!
*drools with stupid look on face.
Yeah what bananacakes said :screwy:
I kinda wanna get into developing but I feel that I'm too mentally challenged for this.

Awesome a Dev willing to take on the Vivid section lol, please don't quit on us.
So just out of curiosity what kind of features are you thinking of including?
'cause if you need any ideas there's a thread in the general section that's
basically only suggestions for a dev to browse over. =D
There shouldn't be anymore drama since the banhammer threat has been made, I doubt there will be people risking getting band, yet again, the Vivid forum is filled with noobs

Drama was obviously caused by people who don't know the forum rules to begin with but...... having the banhammer threat is a nice back up

haha yeah. I avoid PMing the OP's. It's kind of rude. They put in so much effort into writing the instructions and people ignore it, flash the way they flashed on other phones and brick their machines. I come from the Inspire so I've used the Bindroid roms before. It was smooth but sometimes it was heavy on the ram. It could get me as low as 90 mb. The Vivid is much more powerful and once someone sets the clock speed back to 1.5 Ghz it will be much better.

We will start with a clean stable BD themed ROM. I already added an extended quick settings menu. We are looking into the extended power menu. Hoping to get the beta out very soon. I am thinking of doing a prerelease so maybe we can get it tested first since I don't have a full Vivid team right now.

I'm definitely interested in beta testing. If you need anymore testers just let me know.
Sign me up for beta testing.
Any chances of getting this out for the Canadian Raider which doesn't have the new HBOOT yet?
A man can dream, huh?
Seriously, good luck with your new ROM! Can't wait to see what it'll be like!
