Back on topic: Sorry about just adding to the clutter of your thread man, best advice I can give you is to just search around. I haven't tried any iPhone skins, but I do want to try it just to see how it works out.

well said noyz. the chap came on here looking for an answer (which, admittedly if he had searched a little he would have found) and everyone jumps at the occasion to spout loads of 'LOLZ IPHONE IS **** LOLZ' rubbish. people can skin their wm phones however they want - and im sure some people want it to look like an iphone, whilst retaining the kaisers excellent features. i personally dont, but i do use s2u, which i find is an excellent app.
my advice is to search here, and also - if you find theres a bit too much - give youtube a try - most of the 'wm6 iphone' style videos will list somewhere how they've done it, or at least what programs were used - and you'll get a good idea of what sort of stuff you want and dont.

Because its all about choices in life, He bought performance, how on earth can it behave like a iphone with WM, different touchscreen, different hardware etc. I think the interface of the iphone is beatifull, but it performs like nothing.
He decided performace, so he should accept that its not possible to make it a iphone, if he wants, sell the HTC and buy a iphone.

Why does everyone get mad when people suggest to sell the phone to get the iphone? If you want the iPhone UI and feel get an iPhone, plain and simple.

what if you want the look and layout of an iphone but you want a wm device and all the features kaiser has? your way of thinking suggests your answer would be to buy nothing and wait, when an appropriate compromise can be made.

Yes, because itæs simply not possible to add an iphone UI to a WM6 device, I will not say het should sell his HTC and iphone, thats a little bit short thinking.
BUT, the poster should keep in mind that he does not have a iphone it is or-or, not both, a iphone iu will never be near realistic since the hardware is so different..

i agree, and it would be very naive to believe that a wm6 device could have an exact iphone ui, but for the sake of arguing - what can be done (taking into account differences in hardware) its not a million miles off.
without making too many assumptions, i would imagine the majority of those that use an iphone style ui on their wm6 device do so purely for aesthetic reasons.

Hello Tvos,
If you're not interested in the WinMo interface and wont something that feels like an iPhone, you may want to test out an application called Point UI. It is not an iPhone interface but it does similarities like a sliding interface.

I take it you are on about their product "X-Cube". Sadly, it's the product with the least amount of information. The O2 Active UI is also available on there (and seems to be free). Last time I used that was on my wizard where I removed it asap because it didn't appear able to cope.
I wonder if my Kaiser would manage it.

can't really knock it as its be best i've seen bar htc's own. its not really clear enough fr me what each of the buttons do or mean. if its not intuitive then i can't recommend. it looks great and feels initially like you should love it however after5mins of working it i'm back to my htc home. sadly...

Which one? I tried the one labelled "V2R Active UI v1.0" and it was a bit crappy, I had a whole pile of free things already which were better.
The one labelled Active UI Multitouch (which is shown in the picture above) had issues (praise be for safe mode) on my Kaiser, but I am guessing it is something to do with the fact that I don't use WMP and I have Mobile Shell installed.
I was hoping for something similar to the O2 Active UI which they are showcasing here -

These guys had kinetic scrolling on the today screen before everybody else,they just never improved on the friction which made it too slow to make a splash.Then they sell you icons at this day and age.They obviously took a few tips from Apple.

This is true but when they were the creators of the GUI for the iphone they know the company will now be reputable enough to start charging for additional icon packs

This product is pretty crappy and slow compared to a lot others out there. I also had problems removing Point UI from my device... yuck.
It was slow to respond, setup was very frustrating and not very intuitive, programs are hard to find and difficult to sort through... No real improvements and it limits viewable area a lot with the "touch to open" feature taking up a big portion of the screen. If you want something like this I would go with Ultimate Launch or SPB Mobile Shell.

I mainly use(and develop) Microsoft Windows products, even if I'm a registered member of the Apple Developer Network.
Not sure what you're trying to imply but following your twisted reality, Bill Gates stole Windows from Big Blue...well...he paid a couple of bucks for it.
Anyway, I'm still not sure what you're trying to say but one thing is for sure: Apple DID NOT outsource iPhone GUI development, this is a FACT and you can rant about it all day long, it doesn't change the truth.

HTC Dream... Seriously WTF

Ok Maybe there was another post on this before...
And I also had a quick look through the forums to see if theres already an area devoted to the Dream...
But I got to ask,
What the hell was the designer thinking as he or she was scribbling down sketches and design concepts for this phone?
Hardware great,
Android great [though missing fancy GUI like Touchflow3d and uses stranded android desktop],
Fanatic designs and aesthetically pleasing to look at. Oops missed that one.
What the hell where they thinking? It looks like a cheap third world country knock off. A design thats a throw back to the 80s of cream white and ugly buttons.
After the Touch series [diamond pro HD and 3G and Pearls or is it Pebble...] How on earth did they manage to get this one out of the design room?
Hardware wise its fairly similar to the touch pro, so they could of easily gone along the lines of the Touch pro design with Android implementation.
Also why didnt they change the default front end of android with a nicer one?
The whole phone and its development smells of being total rushed without any real thinking at every step.
[except the basic fundamentals like hardware support and driver support under android, everything else though is out the window]
Now I’m sure HTC engineers and designers occasionally look around this forum to test the water so to speak. I only wish they would come forward and explain themselves with this monstrosity, It had the potential to be something truly great. But now seems as if it would be brushed under the carpet.
Maybe im just mindlessly ranting. If thats the case just ignore me

Should I go into the Blue Angel forum and start saying how I think it's an ugly piece of poop too, and what was HTC thinking? Seriously.. just your aesthetic opinion.. like everyone else.. let's not try and make it more then what it really is.

I think the dream looks nice. The white one is ok but the black one looks sexy. Also how is it rushed the phone has been in developement for over a year. That doesn't sound rushed to me. I for one can't wait for the phone and I'm going to get it the first day.

Well, everyone is entitles to an opinion and although I agree it is importnant to be careful how you phrase things, you are always entitled to your opinion. I have many friends from Mexico and lived there myself for a while. They all say the same thing. It is not that great when it comes to looks but I can say that I have had many pretty things that were only so so when then came to performance. I do not look at the cosmetic side as much as I do the performance. I would use a brick if it gave me the best performance and reliability. I just hope they don't jack the price too much...

Easy people, I know that HTC kick ass, specially iPhone ass. But I just saw the application a I think it's cool, yeah totally stupid and useless but cool. And just wondering if someone can make something like this.

I saw this tread a few days ago and didnt expect these kind of reponses.. YES, its completly useless and YES, it came out on Ibone first, but does that alone make it crap? Personally, i think that its great that Ibone can get noobs excited about touchphone despite the fact that it is completly overpriced and made to much into a '' hype''. Finally i want to say this: Problably for most of us this is not our first touch phone (and problably not the last), i started with the Qtek s100 and what i partially loved about it was the fact that we could have almost unlimited apps and tweaks/mods so despite how useless of a app it may seem i still would like something useless as this as well, and NO i dont want a Ibone.

I want this app
I work for a cell phone retailer and would love to have this active when my customers ask to see my phone since our demo's are zipped tied to our display. I would love to see their reaction when they touch my screen and this happens. Im all for it.

its a fun prank to play on some one who owns a iphone, but.....
you have to figure out how to sneek the phone away from them
know how to install a program on the iphone
and finally be ready to record their reaction if there is one at all
but on the same note this app is useless. Fun as a prank to play on your buddies who cherish their phone. But just like me I never let my phone out of my sight. with that said I find it useless to request "ports" because why waste time porting an app when you could spend valuable time making a emulator that will run an iphone os, android for example.

On the brightside guys....ppl with iCrap can now actually be a tad happier. Imagine what it would be like if you were stuck wint iCrap and didn't have notifications and ppl you knew had that on Android. It felt almost as if you didn't have a smartphone.

Apple sued Samsung for a couple of logos, and the box around the logos(app drawer), basically. LOL

I am wondering how an OS that is "open source" and thrives on expansion and adaptation can sue anybody for taking a "feature" that is on just about everything. I think the sue'ing game has gotten way out of hand. Just make make your shot and if people want it they will buy it....
Oh and on another note. As far as re-introducing Android 1.5 features, I think they are just going to perfect it like they have most of their other stuff.
