[Q] Battery always show 100% - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Deleting batterystats.bin from /data/system doesn't help
what else can I do?

sort of the same problem
even when the battery is down to like 20% it still shows 90% on status
i just ignore it completely and use a third party battery meter like Gauge Battery Widget

it's simply the best!

@op, do you mean the battery indicator in the notification bar always shows full or when you check the status screen? there were quite a few times when i would delete the battery stats on my nexus one and the battery status would show 100% for 5 hrs or so, but eventually it would start to drop. once i fully charged it again it would work normally. one of the few things i hate about the galaxy s is that the battery meter in the notification bar is so out of whack. i hate having to check the settings page all the time and i stopped using battery apps due to battery drain

use the widget/status bar icon i recommended above

Allgamer:
Thank you but my problem was battery showing 100% all the time, it doesn't metter if I use widget or other method.
hondaguy:
Thank you
evantually it started dropping (after few hours)
now it's o.k.

The Galaxy S will show in the notification bar as '100%' untill the 75% mark is reached.

Battery Indicator that shows battery percentage when charging?

is there any program that will show the battery percentage when charging? anyone?
homescreen++ ui is a really small today screen plugin that does it. afaik the taskbar icon cannot do it.
additionally, the measurement should be bull**** either way as long as the charging is active. while charging the value shown is normally far too much, when disconnecting the charger you can see a drop of more than 10% within 1 minute (due to bull**** readings while charging).

You can check out this (current/up-to-date page is HERE)
It is pretty customizable. I used it a lot on my 6800 and loved it. But I had some initial problems with my TP and switched to Jimm98y's GreenBatteryFIX which shows a % in the battery icon on the top instead of bars. When charging it just shows a plug icon though. (I think that is the current version)
You could try THIS out as well.
Thnx Pantaloonie and chrialex, I was lookin for such apps

Spare Parts - Accurate Battery Readout?

Hey all, I was wondering about Spare Part's Battery percentage counter and its accuracy. I'm kind of OCD about the battery right now because I want to know exactly how long it will last on regular usage.
Anyway, I took it off the charger at about 6:30 AM this morning after an alarm, had another alarm and had about 4 calls. Messed with it a bit (Twitter and Gmail, etc) and went to work. It was at 100% until about 10:30/11 AM (quite a while) until I went installing Handcent SMS.
I tested it out and checked the battery. It was at 97%. Every 5 or so minutes, I checked the battery and it would go down a percent every time. Already uninstalled Handcent SMS as I thought it might be doing something.
It's 11:40 AM now and battery 88%.
I have Gmail to only sync my mail and it hasn't synced since 9 this morning, no calendar and contacts because contacts sync quite often and I didn't need it to. Twitter is set to sync every 2 hours. Those are the only things that have any syncing ability really.
Last night I had the phone in standby for about 3 hours and it was at 48% that whole time.
Mobile network is off since I'm on Wifi.
Is Spare Parts just catching up to the battery? Are there any apps to get the battery % in the status bar on top? Thanks guys!

I don't know anything about spare parts, but I do know that wifi really drains the battery. You said last night I had the phone in standby, was the screen (thus the wifi) on during the whole day?
It's turned of when put in standby so it's logical it doesn't drain the battery then.
Ok, I have solution. I've found Battery Monitor v1.0.5 and finally it shows the percentage in the status bar

What if you have the status bar black...the text of the percentage is also black. Is there a way to change the text color?
EDIT: I found out that when you are in the status bar press the Monitor and once it gets to the blue screen where you have to enable it press menu and settings and the only option there is to change font color.

battery charging animation

Hi there,
Do you know what app should be installed if i want to know battery indicator in task bar when i charge my bettery ? I am using spooncharge it shows the indicator but i have to run the app 1rst
i had tried ariel battery too, but it overlaped another icon..

What about the taskbar battery indicator. It should show the battery state....

HD7 battery calibration

I don't know if it's the OS or my battery, but the battery indicator at the top right corner is often incorrect. More than a day has passed and it's at 75% still which is impossible after 2 months of owning it. I expect to get the "battery low" message soon despite what the OS is reporting at the top right corner
Anyone else with such issues?
actually its hard to gauge if the indicator is working correctly at all.....
I once fully drained the battery and waited for a few hours, recharged it to full, and let to drain to 1% and full again. on that day , i had a huge improvement in battery life.
the trick is to leave it fully frained a few hours

Battery Monitors/Widgets

Anyone else having issues with battery widgets/monitors not updating? I have tried Battery Solo Widget (which works perfect on Inspire 4g) and Circle Battery Widget. Neither of them seem to update correctly. I let my battery get down to 5%, then plugged it in for 15 minutes and the Circle Battery Widget reported still 5% but the lock screen indicator says 15%. Is there any other "good" battery widgets in a 1X1 widget format that works and updates accurately without killing the battery life?
::EDIT:: NVM, a restart of the phone took care of it.
