nexus one won't detect OTA update (2.1 build ere27)

hi everyone
i just received my 2nd nexus one from google after my original one got jacked at the gym (dame thieves!). for some reason my new nexus one doesn't detect the 2.1 build ere27 OTA update, and i'm not able to upgrade to the developer build of 2.2 build frf72 because it requires I have ere27 before upgrading. can someone please help me? like is there a way to turn on automatic updates or provide me with a link to manually update to "2.1 -update1" (build ere27) from my current 2.1 build erd79
after using flash in the browser on my old n1, it's hard using 2.1 when knowing full-well i can be using 2.2
***EDIT***
Just to be clear, my n1 hasn't been rooted and I prefer not to root (in order to preserve my warranty)

Same question asked - you need to install ERE27, then FRF50, then FRF72.
Thanks mate!

Yes, check out Lox 's thread in Android development. Or try eViLs or Leo's prepackaged ROMs.
take a look here. It's a pre-rooted, deodexed version with stock or black status bar.
You guys are the best! Thanks soooooo much!!!
This is the LOX instructions I followed :

Worked perfectly for me I was running FRF50 upgraded from Cyanogen 5.0.6.
I'm Not sure if it said to do this but I flashed the no-radio version then let it completely boot so everything is 'written' or whatever causes the first boot to take longer.
I saw I lost root, no big surprise because there was were root files posted as well.
Rebooted into RA Recovery and flashed the root file.
No Wipe when going from FRF50 to this ROM, all my programs still work just like they did before.
Thanks a lot guys

[Question]rooting FRF91 with modaco's superboot for FRF91

hello guys.. i just came to know that Modaco released his superboot version for FRF91... i want to know that is anyone tested it?? coz i badly want to root my nexus... so can anyone who tried it can gv a conformation that is it working or not??? looking forward for the replies...
I already tested this weekend. Works flawlesly.
if you want to root your frf91 nexus, you could always downgrade to erd79 then root + custom recovery then install a pre-rooted version on frf91. i did the same on my vodanexus. therefore no need for frf91 superboot.

Did you have any lagfix installed by any chance? If yes, did you remove it before attempting to upgrade to Froyo?

[Q] How to undo froyo 2.2 upgrade

Hi everyone,
I have upgraded my Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 from Eclair 2.1 to Froyo 2.2 via Samsung Kies. I have used Ryan's Z4root to root it which was success. Everything was fine until here. When I tried to fix the lag using the update.zip, it failed saying 'file verification failed' (somthing of this sort). I chekced on different forums and found that there isn't any update.zip file to fix lag on 2.2 (am I right?).
If there is one, could someone point me in that direction. If there isn't, how can I undo 2.2 and rollback to 2.1 so that I can root it and fix the lag.
Please ask if you need any further details regarding my phone or the process I used to root and fix the lag.
Thanks in advance.
Superoneclick worked for me on 2.2 and 2.2.1 if you just need to root the phone.

Thanks for your reply but I have already rooted my 2.2. What I am looking is for a lag fix solution on my 2.2 or rolling back to 2.1 where there are loads of easy lag fix solutions.
head over to the android dev subforum, look for any of the lagfix kernels.
Alternatively use cf-root which will allow you to use 2e recovery and thereby apply your update.zip
Do you know which 2.2 firmware you flashed? Was it jk3 or jk4? This sounds like a recovery version issue and not all solutions support every version of firmware.
Ryan's Z4root to root
+ Ryans OCLF for lag fix works for me .
jje
Any lagfix that can be installed as an app should be ok. You'll still be prevented from applying anything via the update.zip method until you resolve the recovery "issue".

My current 2.2 firmware is JP3. This is what is showing after I updated to 2.2 via Kies.

Yes!!!
Ryan's Root and OCLF worked for me aswell.
Rooting worked fine on the first go but lag fix resulted in a black screen on my galaxy. As I had an external SD card in my phone, I removed it out and ran the lag fix again. It worked this time!!!
