The Theme Flashed as an update.zip using the stock recovery mode or using MetaMorph.
It has been tested on I897UCJF6 and I897UCJH7. I cannot vouch that it will work on any other ROM.
A number of HTC elements have been blended while retaining a Droid “feel”. For example: It retains the android blue highlights vice the HTC Green. There really are too many changes to describe. Give it a try.
If you don’t like it, Return it back to the stock. I’ve included that too.
Note... Stock MetaMorph Revert: Due to Metamorph limitations the battery will remain 1-100%, but it will look stock (original SRE).
The Theme uses a blend of my custom graphics and source graphics from:
EVO 4G (many customized)
SRE 1-100% Battery (fully customized)
Changes are made to:
framework-res.apk
twframework-res.apk
Settings.apk
Email.apk
Gmail.apk
Mms.apk
MediaProvider.apk
Flash Installation Instructions:
Copy “HTC-Droid_v1.0.zip” or “StockJF6-JH7_Revert.zip” to the root of your internal sdcard
Rename to update.zip
Boot into recovery mode
Select "Reinstall Packages"
Wait for your phone to reboot and Enjoy
MetaMorph Installation Instructions:
Make sure you are using the latest version of MetaMorph (1.9.13 or higher).
WARNING: Make sure USB Debugging is enabled in Settings -> Applications -> Development.

Trying this now.
Works, and looks good.
Two problems I spotted...
1) Text in the notifications pulldown is black, not white like in the screenshot, so it's really hard to read.
2) The HTC icons are not showing up in the settings menu.
Thanks for checking it out...
On 1) Bummer... Not sure what to do about that though. The changes are to graphics only. The apk's don't mess with the font. Has your always been black? Mine has always been white.
On 2) I'll double check the apk and make sure I didn't screw something up. Although I swear I checked it.
Thanks Again
Hmm... after deleting user data the text in the notifications drawer is now white like it should be.

Whooops... That will make it hard to read even with stock gray.
I just rechecked both apks. They seems to work good here. Maybe give it a go again?

Two requests. Can we get a metamorph? I'd help you if I knew how, but sadly I do not. A lot of us use cognition, and it doesn't like update.zip themes.
2, can we get some jpgs? Trying to watch that gif is hard! Lol.
Otherwise, I think it's worth a try. Would have liked a semi transparent notification drawer as well though. Minimalistic got me hooked on that.

I believe I can work up metamorphs. I used to do them, but I think they are a bit of a pain. I understand a cognition deal though. It might be better if I come up with a zip that'll work with clockwork? I'll attempt both.
You got it I'll upload the jpgs. I'd hate to hurt your eyes... LOL

I've just check it.. it seems to be working at the moment. Megaupload does that once in a while. Usually if you give it a couple minutes it'll be back. Let me know if you are still having issues. I've added the metamorphs to the post, but the flash versions are too large.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
EDIT: I'm having issues adding attachments for some reason... I'll need to try later. Hopefully its an "XDA system" thing.
That sucks... I'll work on other options, hopefully. I can't host the flash files here and XDA is not cooperating with attachments today for the metamorphs.
Maybe there is something in the air today.
Megauploads is having issues with capacity this afternoon.... hopefully it'll be up later. I don't have another answer at the moment... unless someone can host the files.
Hey I downloaded this morph and it looked pretty sick but then I decided to flash it back to stock. When i did that though, all my settings icons disappeared. Do you know how to get them back?
Here is my Transculent Rosie Bar version 1.0 with White top status bar and many icons from Donut.
NOTE BEFORE YOU START:
Standard disclaimer, I don't guarantee anything that might happen after following these steps. These steps worked for me and I have tried to include every steps. My phone is running Modaco 2.9 but this should theoretically work on any ROM. But no guarantees. So please do nandroid Backup 1st so if anything wrong happens you can do Nandroid restore.
This is a very nice theme! I'll test this out on v2.2 later and report back my findings
Very nice.
You can put the service.jar into the zip! It's easier for the user.
Followed the instructions and only the text on the notification bar changed to black. Nothing else changed. Did I do something wrong?
So you just basically download the file as-is now and just put it on the memory card and go to recovery and just flash it like a ROM?
EDIT:
Didn't work to flash the services.jar.zip file like a ROM in the recovery. So can you explain how to do this correctly then? I really want to flash this theme, it looks awesome!
try the newly uploaded file. it got services.jar included. so flashing this file will give u new theme and changed font color.
Got it to work just flashing the new file in the recovery, thanks!
One thing I noticed, the icon for when there is no EDGE activity is still black. Just wanted to throw that out there to get fixed on the next release. Also, the text when you pull down the notification bar on the date in the top left corner and cell phone provider is white and hard to see, not sure if that can be changed to black in the next release or not. Only things I really saw that needed to be fixed, thanks again!
a 10 for this theme, very nice!!! thanks
Very nice.
You make nice themes!!
Thanx for working on it and including now the services.jar.
@anybody:
If you need to go back to the original theme, it's possible with our "Original Hero Theme" in this Forum.
This contains original services.jar, too.
So you didn't have problems with that!
Nice to work together here, guys!
Tried this theme, I have MCR2.9
Now it is stuck on bootup screen!
Will have to do a Nandroid recovery.
Very disappointed. All the other themes I've tried have worked.
Looks like a nice them, wished it had worked on my phone.
edit: just used the Modaco Original theme instead (luckily I had it on the sdcard already) and it recovered.
How long do you wait?
Some themes uses the "services.jar" If there are any changes, the bootup could take some minutes.
bro in my phone it takes around 5-6 minutes to startup.
Works on MCR 3.0 does take a good 5 minutes from the HTC screen to start.
to gaz31: did you do any wipe after flashing MCR 3.0? or you just flashed the new rom(updated) and the theme still works?
plichtousek i updated to MCR 3.0 and then flashed the theme. Changed to black sense theme now, prefer the black look.
[THEME] Rotary Style Lockscreen for EE 3.0 or CE 1.1 [UPDATED: 06/08/2010]
This is a rotary style lockscreen for use with EE or CE. The one for EE may possibly work on other ROMs. However, it could cause a boot loop if it does not work, so make a backup before trying. It may also break things non-related to the lock screen. This mod involves editing the android.policy.jar file which is why this is specific to EE 3.0 and CE 1.1. If you like this mod but it does not work right on your ROM, send me your jar file and I will mod it for you.
I got the idea for this from this thread, so thanks to JsChiSurf for the files in the thread. I initially tried just flashing his zip, and it did give me the rotary style lockscreen, but it broke a lot of other system related items. So I compared both my file and his to find where the differences were to make this modded one for EE.
You can choose either the transparent background with the date and time showing or the transparent background with only the charge status showing. I am going to try and make these with the option for a background. There is a link to a MetaMorph theme in the second post if you would like to remove the arrows while unlocking. Let me know if any of you have other suggestions.
UPDATED: I removed the flashable zip files and made some MetaMorph themes that do the job for both EE and CE. The EE lockscreen is transparent atm and comes with or without the time and date. The CE one is not transparent and shows your current selected wallpaper or live wallpaper.
Instructions:
1. Do a NAND backup first!
2. Remove the HtcLockScreen.apk if you have not already
Code:
adb remount
adb shell mv /system/app/HtcLockScreen.apk /system/app/HtcLockScreen.bak
3. Download the appropriate MetaMorph theme
4. Apply the theme in MetaMorph
(NOTE: If your phone does not reboot or MetaMorph does not ask you to reboot, or your phone locks while applying the theme, wait 10 seconds and either pull the battery or send a reboot command.)
5. Reboot & Enjoy
REMOVE ARROWS
1. Apply this MetaMorph theme from here to remove the arrows.
ADD BLUE UNLOCK BUTTON
2. Apply this MetaMorph theme to change to a blue button --> BlueRotary.zip This is loaded in the theme from the first post now
Oh wow, DO WANT.
After people stop texting me i'm definitely flashing this
I would love this for cyanogen eris
going to try and flash it and see if it works as is, just did a nandroid backup
Hey,
Firstly thank you for making this!
ITS AWESOME!
secondly just a quick suggestion, EE has always replaced the kind of stock HTC green with a blue. would it be possible to do this with the lock/unlock button so it fits the whole EE theme?
Check out this link. You should be able to use this. I didnt test it on CE so make sure to make a NAND first before trying. I have used it on Aloysius with no issues.
Would you mind sharing what/where the changes are? I would like to make one CyanogenEris.
It's fairly straight-forward, but it involves decompiling the Java classes, replacing some of them and then recompiling. If you read stopxstart's thread for the white notification bar, you will see what I am talking about. I will put together a little tutorial later when I get home from work.
I know how to de-compile it. I just need to know what changes where made to the smali files. Then I can make a metamorph for CE .
Sure, It's the LockScreen class. My files are at home, but you should be able to grab it from the one I posted.
Sweet! Just tried it .. Works! All I replaced was "LockScreen.smali" . If I don't see any errors I will post morph for CyanogenEris.
EDIT:
Ok, this is weird! Any idea why it says "SIM card is PUK-locked."? It only shows it when its plugged in to my laptop.
Try replacing the sub classes as well (I think that's what they are). There should be about five. They have the $ and integers in their name. If that does not help, then it is more ROM specific. To fix it will require editing the original smali instead of just replacing files. A Little more intense, but based on your results so far, it's possible.
Put this file in your MetaMorph theme to change the green button to cyan.
If I move the rotary to "Sound Off" it says "Screen Lock" then turning it back on it says "Power Off". LOL!
Yes, yes. Funny man. I know exactly where the problem is. Minor, very minor issue. The method is just referencing the wrong strings. I will fix it after work. I spent a while getting the other issue fixed. I'm an expert at logcat and Java errors now. At least they give you the line number.
By the time this is done, I will have added missed call notifications as well.
EDIT: I uploaded a new file with the strings fixed. For real this time.
Dude you rock! I can't wait .
This is currently for HDPI devices
This is something I made personally to help with constantly merging themes to get the desired look I want. It wasn't until I saw ThemePorter that I thought this would be useful. I plan on developing this to the max if the interest is there. This will allow you to virtually merge any roms no matter what version of android the themed ROM is running (froyo/sense/2.1/2.2). It does this by analyzing the files within the hdpi/mdpi/ldpi folder of the themed ROM and replacing it with the new version only if it exists in the old ROM.
Requirements:
-Windows based PC
-.NET 4.0 framework installed (If you dont currently have it installed, the program should download and install.
-If you have any issues running it, try running as adminstrator
Features
-Mix and match system framework images from different ROMS
-The current version only allows for framework images (status bar icons, buttons, checkboxes, etc..)
Instructions
Important:
**Extract the contents of the zip file to C:\AndroSkinner**
Once the program is installed and loaded, select your current ROM be selecting load from the dropdown. Do the same for the themed ROM. Once both are loaded, click the merge button.
After the program completes the merge, your modified system.framework-res.apk will be in C:\AndroSkinner. You need to push this back to "system\framework\" using ADB.
Important Notes
--I take no responsibility for any damage done to your phone--
There is still a possiblity that you may get a bootloop after pushing modified framework back to your phone so I reccommend creatin a nandroid backup. Depending on the themes you chose to merge the level of elements combined will vary. All I can say is try and report back. There may be something I can do to fix it.
Planned Upgrades
-Make it universal (right now it only supports hdpi)
-Convert mdpi themes to hdpi themes? (Not sure if possible)
-Ability to chose which items you want to merge IE: Only status bar icons, Only buttons, or combination of the both
-Automatically push the new framework to your phone
-Optionally create a metamorph to be used for flashing
-Optionally create an update.zip for flashing
-View which items were merged
-Merging things other then the system framework
-TBD
Please submit any bugs any ideas for future improvement. You are what will make this an useful tool or not
http://www.mediafire.com/file/9j4rrel57sjfhd4/AndroSkinner.zip
If you'd like to support the future development of AndroSkinner please do so below. Every bit helps
I keep getting an error. Tried different roms, different themes, XP 32bit and Win7 64 bit.
I'm getting the attached error. You should also add a 'default' radio button in the options, or make them check buttons as to unselect them you gotta restart it.
I'll be working on this tonight. The issue stems from it looking for the framework-res.apk in a full ROM. It then looks for the res/drawable-hdpi/ folder within that apk. It looks like there is no res folder in your framework-res.apk.
I finally was able to run it all the way through without getting the "res" error, but it did not create a folder under c:\Androskinner. Not sure if it was 100% complete or not.
The clock color is a quick status_bar.xml edit. The battery icons, I looked through the zip, are exactly right. Looks like the first few are a bit off. Would have to edit the .png's to make it look different.
Posted 100%, 98% and 80% for comparison.
Are you familiar with apk manager? It's the easiest tool I have found. Just started to mess with themeing myself. Used this post to get a start, very helpful.
[GUIDE] Want to learn how to theme?
I was looking for a reason to flash a differnet rom anyway. I might just try that out.
Dude I owe you man, you're doing a lot of work on this haha-I tried myself to edit some files and I'm completely flabbergasted and this is what i mean by froyo
Try the attached framework out. I fixed the lockscreen (I think. i didn't check it.) and the battery. Also try this twframework out. It has the big S in the background. I think I can to do time though. I am not experienced in smali edits. If you can find a JPY theme though that has a black clock though you can use the services.jar from that.
Don't worry about donations. My pleasure to help you.
lol. that wasn't me, but thanks I also like white all the way to zero on the android battery mod. My question was on how to change the color of the sub text in the Settings menu. It's probably some tweaking of some xml file. metamorph maybe?
chance, im assuming this comes with the latest serendipity as well?
edit, downloaded see its just an updater. thank you for your hard work, this is awesome
I cant download using my phone because the download button is hidden by ads when i view the site on the mobile browser. This happens in both mobile and full views.
Very Sorry! I have pushed them as far right as possible let me know if that works better. Sorry for the Ads just trying to pay for the hosting for the kitchen.
Works now when viewing the full site, still not the mobile but that isn't a big deal. I understand the need for the ads though! What better way to get clicks than to cover up the submit button
now though it is giving me an error "content error - the requested file is too large for conversion in the gateway/proxy". Sorry for causing all this trouble! Is there anything i can do to help?
Just want to say thanks for all of your hard work new to the ROM thing here , love Serendipity makes my phone run 1000% better than before!
Now to find the equivalent of Serendipity for my wife's xperia x10a
BTW funds are low right now but I plan on making a donation soon
Just updated to 5.10 and tried out the Add-on Kitchen for the first time. Very impressed and thanks for streamlining! No problems to report at this time.
So I've been working hard to change the look of my phone. I came across this post under the i9000 themes forum for VA Green:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11129613&postcount=811
After some tinkering I got this nice epic unlock. But the Orb and Glass unlock kept the month and date. So can anyone help me with remove that? I don't know how to edit xml, but I'm willing to learn.
The layouts for the lockscreens are in the framework-res.apk so decompile that and then try removing the <textview> that correspond to the date and time.
Used rom kitchen for the first time today. Was excellent and worked like a charm.
Nice work Chance. This was great to build a mod update pack.
Running rgb v4 kernel and serendipity 5.10. The update packages compiled thru ur site aren't updating the mods I select. Haven't tried an app but the batt mod, clear not, animations do not change
Edit: 2.6.32.9 build on the kernel
Nice work Chance x4. U 2 are what make this rom so good.
I need the build number from the kitchen so I can look at the log.
Edit tested all of the above and its working fine. Was there an assert error?
