GPS in the menus?

Hi,
I installed the upgrade for swedish Trinity yesterday and got the GPS working with Google Maps.
ROM ver: 1.23.413.2
Radio ver: 1.38.00.11
I just wonder if there's supposed to be any info or settings about the gps-chip in the menus? Can't seem to find it anywhere in the Windows Mobile settings- or program-screens.
And if not, is the gps inactive (non power-consuming) until a program accesses it? Or how does it work?

I guess that rom is pretty much the same as the norwegian one that I use.
There is no GPS menu that I could find, and the GPS is only running when a programs uses it.

you can enable the GPS menu and icon using Trinityhacks 0.1.

Changes from ver. 0.2:
Added the following tweaks:
Show today date in single line
Show Network Operator name
Show Wireless Manager icon
Enable GSM/UMTS Band Selection
Enable ClearType in Landscape
Disable annoying beep on callin volume change
As usual tell me if there are problem (it's not full tested), suggestion and ... if you like it.

Do you think that check is not enough to see if the setting is on?
I'm evaluating the possibility to change tweak text colour if tweak is set.

Hi guys .
Just bought a p3600 ,i have downloaded the official swedish htc gps rom and the test version of Tomtom and it works perfect(quick gps fix,WiFi etc)
Now i have just start to look around this superb forum ,and try to lern more what i can do whith this peace .couple of questions tho...
1. This Trinityhack...will it work on my swedish trinity ,if so ,does it sets all my settings/icon names etc ,into english language only?
and how do i do?
2. And i also want to know where to finde some nice "themes" for icon,calender etc ..(should be a "sticky thread" for that)
Is´t some thing more u guys suggest to do, put in, change ,remove etc etc ...thanks

The tomtom app, is that a test version that will end after a surtain time or is it aa full verison of the app?

Yes, trinityhack works for all language. The settings don't modify your rom language.

Hi all!
Is there a tweak to remove the small icon at bottom right corner.
(As seen in this pic just above contacts button)
I really hate when the icon and scrollbar appears when I sync the phone.

Think it's my today
For me, only appears if I used "remote PPC", nothing when activesync.

Local Operator Settings

I have just purchased the TYTN II, unlocked, and upon switching it on I am being asked to set the HSDPA Settings and other Mobile operator related Settings. I had an HP ipaq 6915 and these settings were automatically detected, apart from HSDPA. Is there a way I can update the country list on the Kaiser with preset settings?

P.S country of Use is Malta, Europe.

Dont know if there are settings for Malta but connectionsetup.cab (dont know the exact name) is the app that is configurating these settings. U can search for it here http://www.4shared.com/dir/5551593/20b4549a/sharing.html

I have a doc file with the settings required to setup MMS/gprs/3g/edge(apparentally same connection settings). anyone know someone I can give them to so that they are included on a cooked rom or settings application?

I have one advise: if you find a rom where the connectionsetup has your settings, you need to backup privision.zip from windows folder, and when u flash the rom u want and the connectionsetup dont have your settings just copy the file to windows, softreset and it should work. The only problem is, u need to find a rom with your settings.(I checked mine, I too dont have settings for Malta)
There is also a second option maybe your operator can send you these settings via sms.

Registry edit to disable 3G

I just purchased my Tilt and have Hard SPL installed but haven't settled on a ROM as of yet. I have been using Schaps ROMs for a while on the Hermes. My question is would someone be kind enough to direct me to the registry edit for giving the band option in the phone settings so I can disable 3G when not in use to save battery life.
Also I am looking for a registry editor for the Kaiser, input is apreciated. I have one I used on the Hermes but it doesn't seem to want to play with the Kaiser.
And I did search the wiki first when it came back up that is
ROM version is 1.62.502.0
Radio 1.27.14.09

Ok. You should do a SEARCH for COMM MANAGERS... search for Dutty 10 Button COMM manager, or SCHAP's COMM MANAGER. It will give you option to disable 3g and enable. It's as easy as just tapping on it. Same process as turning on WIFI. You need to search threads before people start breathing down your anus. READ and SEARCH

This app works perfectly. Its called BandSwitch. Just installed on my tilt the other day.

GSM for only Edge mode.
UMTS for 3G/HSDPA.
It also has auto disconnect.
Click hide page once you are done.

i tend to stick with a six button comm manager. I use advancedconfig to place the phone,wifi,bluetooth,3g,data connection, and airplane mode.

Once it is installed go to start>programs>system tools>advancedconfig>menu>comm manager settings

TY for your reply. I was prepared for the flaming I have been reading and searching but was not finding what I was looking for. I was not aware that I was able to dl a com manager cab by its self. I have never been unhappy with the comm managers in the roms that i have used previously for the Hermes. ( V3pg and schaps )

That was exactly for what I am looking for. I am leaving in 2 days for a conference in Florida and this serves my immediate needs perfectly. I will try a few roms when I get back and see what is happening for the Kaiser.
It seems that I have to find ATT TILT Specific ROMs to avoid keyboard issues and go for a WM 6.1 if I want the newer radios. I have DL'd Schap's 4.30 and 4.31 but am not sure which device they were intended for, Tilt or TyTN, so more reading.

well if the rom isn't for the tilt there is a cab available to fix your keyboard settings. However, some of the newest versions of roms tend to mess up the keyboard a bit if you type too fast. Anyhow, here is the cab for the tilt settings.

Disable HSDPA?

Hello There!
I've flashed my device with Alex 3.1.2 LITE rom, and I'm happy with it, but theres only one glich wich I should solve. There is no HSDPA icon on the Connections page. I mean I would like to disable the HSDPA and use it only on 3G because it saves some battery to me. On the other roms there was an icon on the connections page to disable it.
Q: Is there a registry entry for it, to manually disable the HSDPA?
P.S.: I've looked with TrinityHacks 0.3, and Schaps Advanced Config too but can't find it.
