Hey, i recently hard resetted my device and i am having an issue with my keyboard. The backlight turns off after 30 seconds(adjustable), but shouldn't it turn back on when i type(it just stays off)? I cant seem to find the setting for that... and yes, it did turn on the light before the hard reset.
*edit*
fixed it -> buttons -> uncheck enable backlight autosensor
This just started happening:
I restart my tilt. I push the power button and the display brightness gets brighter but the device does not turn off. I push it again, the device turns off but then I can't get it to turn back on without soft resetting! What the crap??!!
Any clue what is going on?
Thanks!
Alan
I am just a n00b, but it sounds like your power button got mapped to your brightness control somehow, and when the screen goes black, the device is not off, just brightness set to 0. When you soft reset, the unit just sets back to default. I am not proficient in mapping the buttons, but a quick search on the forum should help. I know that there are a lot of threads having to do with mapping keys.
Hi
I experience the same problem and strange enough after I downloaded a patch released by HTC for potential issue with blue tooth and the phone.
A soft reset does not solve the problem, instead a Sync with the PC (even not a full one) cure it for a period of 2-3 days.
I have the impression that it is more complicated than just a registry issue. For instance I can not run the TOM TOM any more.
The HTC support only suggested a hard reset that I did but for complicated reasons I was forced to restore a back up I had.
So I am still affected by this problem.
I did a hard reset and used spb backup to restore everything to the day prior. The last thing I remember installing was s2u2 0.99c which seems that it would mess with how the device responds to the power button. I'm going to post over there and see if there is a chance it was the culprit.

You have to disable directdraw in s2u2.

Click to collapse
It was and is disabled at least according to s2u2 settings. I did notice that for me in 0.99c DPAD was enabled but did not work.
Hey I need help. I played with a few settings in PocketToolman and after the soft reset I can't get into my start menu. Everytime I do the screen, majority fo the left side of the screen (the area where the menu would take up) goes black and I pretty much lose all functionality on the phone. The only thing i can do is press Power and go to standby but that's about it.
Anyone have this problem before?! I just got the phoen too so I don't know my way around it that well yet. It's been loaded with wm6.1.
Prompt. Such a problem here. At 6.5 is not working part of the programs in the Settings menu. When you click on them nothing happens.
This problem happens to me from time to time.
Finally I discovered what the cause is. I am not sure whether you have the same problem but I will describe mine:
The problem is actually related to a bug in the Sound and Notifications settings application. When you open this setting it is not possible to close it. You can ignore the problem by pressing the Home hard button. However when you do this some of the settings are not accessible until a soft reset. If you perform a soft reset your problem should be gone (until you open the Sound settings again )
I hope this helps.
I have a problem, which appeared with first upgrade to 9.0.
It's still annoying me.
When I press home button (even iа it's fingerprint scanner) the notification is played. All the sounds setup for buttons is "off" in preferences. Reboot helps for 3-12 hours and it gets back again.
I've tried to reset the phone to factory defaults and reinstall back all my apps, but still this pain gets back 1-3 times a day.
Has anyone found a solution for this?
