Anyone know of a widget that will turn Trackball Alert on and off? Meaning while I am at work I can turn off the trackball notification?
I have used Tasker and Settings Profile in the past but that is a lot of software to just not have it blink at work. I do have Trackball Alert set to have it off at night, but without a second setting I still have it blink at work, leaving me with a blinking light in my pocket.
The alternative would be a widget to turn email push off and on...but I cant find that either.

The power widget has the option of putting Sync 'On' and 'Off' at your convenience..
But that does not turn off my exchange push. Trust me I use it every day and my push emails still arrive.
Disable data while at work? Can't push with no connection.

I have thought of this, but I guess my issue is I need my phone calls and texts but while I am in front of my PC I dont need the email alerts.
I guess its back to Setting Profiles or Tasker for me.
You'll still get calls and texts with data turned off.

A problem I have is that when reciving a SMS the Kaiser wakes up (turning of the button lock). After this anything can happan in the pocket...
Any ways to let the Kaiser sleep right through a incoming SMS or MMS?
Here is what I use to ensure that my Kaiser is locked "On Device Wakeup"
I found it on XDA-Devs a while back. All credit goes to the author "Matt Armstrong".
Basically it adds a CPL Applet to the System Tab called Device Lock.
Check the option to "Lock on Wake"
I just set mine to lock after 5 mins anyway. Then even though a text wakes it, it simply goes to the pin screen so it cant ring anyone or the like.
Thats a device lock(?)
I just want my Kaiser to not wake up on incoming sms/mms.

The Device Lock doesn't stop your phone from waking, it simply locks the keys and dims the screen on wake. So in your pocket (or elsewhere) it will still notify you unless you are set to silent.
If you want to stop the wake up process have you turned off all notifications for SMS/MMS? I believe it is the notification that actually triggers the Wake-up not the actual receipt of the message.
thanks..this problem annoys me as well
Hi
The phone has to wake up (i.e. come out of standby) to accept the text message, so it may as well light up the screen and let you know about it.
Regards
Phil
So it isnt possible, in any way, to make the kaiser just notify incoming sms and keep on sleeping.
Thats pretty sad because the on/off switch is the best device lock on the market in my opinion.
I get the idea with the device lock on wake cab but it would be perfect to just lock/unlock with one simple keystroke.
*swenglish...*
I find it strange that the device doesnt wake up when an email comes in (on a outlook account), but it does wake up when an SMS comes in?
^ drives me nuts! lol
so in other words the only way to avoid this is the fact on turning off the text message notification all together?
I have an AT&T tilt with stock ROM and everything. I am using ifonz0.9.9. I was just wondering if there is any way to make my phone check for new emails and sms more frequently. My phone is linked to my gmail account. I was sending myself some test emails and i was getting them very quickly. But each time i would have to open my messages folder and then click on menu>send/receive, in order to update my inbox. Then i exited out to the home screen, sent another email and decided to just leave y phone alone. Well then about an hour or 2 later i finally get a notification sound and when i wake my phone up, there was a little red bubble with the #1 in it letting me know that i have a new message. So this leads me to believe that my phone must only check for new messages on its own like once every hour or something like that. Is there anyway to make it check more often. And on another note, if someone sends a SMS i do get a notification sound and a little window pops up saying "received new SMS" or something like that and then goes away after 5 seconds. Now this is fine, but once that message goes away it doesnt put a little red bubble notification on the icon. So if I wasnt near my phone and then came back later and just glanced at my screen I would have no way to tell if I had a new SMS or not. If someone could shed some light on this subject I would really appreciate. This was my last resort because i couldnt find anything On the main board or in the stickies or anything. So thank you in advance if you can help me out.
When i set my email up, one of the very last options was how often to check, i manually set mine to 1 hour, i think it was on check every 2, just checked on mine.
Email inbox > Menu > Tools > Options > clicked my email (yours would be gmail) >Edit Account Setup > Press Next 5 times until you see Automatic Send/Receive:, then set it to whatever you want, 5, 10, 15 minutes > Next > Finish
Hope that helps.
Email notification
This is only mildly related, but I want my new email notification to show the sender and/or subject line and not just "You have ## new email messages..."
I can't find any notification settings that would adjust this. Any suggestions?
The Enter Key is your friend, my friend. Makes it easier for us to read and give you the proper answer.
Menu, Tools, Options, select your account, send/receive schedule, and change your time...if you want faster than every 5 minutes youll need to go with push email.
Just know that each time you check your email a little bit of battery gets eaten up as well. So there is a bit of a trade off.
Keep in mind that if its asleep, and you are using wifi only, you will get no checking until you wake it up.
I wish I could find a fix for that..

I don't know for sure since I use my 3g for everything, but wouldn't disabling that feature in kaisertweak allow it to check while the screen is off?
You can set the tweak to leave WiFi on when the device is on standby. But you'll have your battery empty in 4-5 hours doing that.
Regarding auto check e-mail, for me this was waking up the device each time it wanted to check. So the screen will turn on, which means that for it to turn off automatically it will wait for the timeout to occur. So let's say you set it to check email every 5 mins, and set a power off timeout of 3 mins, the device will turn on to check mail, turn off after 3 minutes then 2 minutes later turn on again. etc.
Personally I found that with the device in my pocket as the screen would always get touched the device would actually never turn off (besides clicking random things) when auto email check was active. So, goodbye battery again. I ended turning off email autocheck.
That last point might get solved by using S2U2 and telling it to turn screen off after like 10 secs as it ignores screen presses at locations other than the slider, but I don't like that personally.
Yeah this is what I figured...I have used the S2U2 method as well. In regard to the battery drain, more than likely one would leave wifi on while stationary because having it on in your pocket while say driving around would lose the wifi anyway. So one "could" plug it into the wall and leave it alone.

I have a "fair use" internet abbo on my tytn. But i also have my wifi on 24/7 because it is faster when i'm at home or at school.
For receiving my e-mail i use http://live.mail2web.com/. There you can make a FREE PUSH MAIL account. You can send your gmail and other e-mail accounts (if you have them) to your mail2web account. And then it is automaticly pushed to your tytn.
You will receive an e-mail send to gmail within a couple of minutes and mostly within a minute.
So this app seems amazing! But I cant seem to get it to work right. I am assuming it will work like SPB phone suite where it can silence my phone and turn off all my data during certain hours and then turn everything back on after that time slot is over. It turns on properly and I love that part but it doesnt seem to turn off. Even after the time slot has ended I have to turn my ringer back up and turn on my BT and GPS. Is it supposed to turn those back on for me or am I missing something?

Check your "defaults". The need to be explicitly set otherwise it will not make changes when it doesn’t have an applicable situation.
Hahahaha, much better! Thank you!
locale
does anyone know how to disable a notification about profile change in Locale?
I want to turn the sound on at 6.30 in the morning but don't want to be waken up by the "ding" it makes when default profile is applied.
Remove Notifications from the list of settings for the situation
Got that already! I have to praise the locale support! sent them an email with this question and got the response back. There is also help section when you click menu within locale so i guess i should have read this first!
I misunderstood the notification feature - I thought it was refering to system global notifications like disabling globally vibration if new sms arrives etc.
So thumbs up to locale support! if only other companies were so helpful!
locale not working in background mode
I used power manager, but because i can't buy apps on the market (NL) so i want to try locale, everything is set, but i have to start the program and then it switches to battery / connected status... So if i plug in my phone i want locale will react immediately instead i have to start it (again and again) and when it's open in my foreground it works perfect. But when it's on background it doesn't work... Can't find settings for this... Any suggestions?
It wakes up everytime I get a text message and sometimes seems to wake up for no reason. This didn't always happen but I can't find and option to disable this.
Anyone know what I can do about it?
i dont think so it might be better to leave it alone.

On my phone, every time I receive a text message, the buttons light up for about half a second then starts to vibrate and play the ringtone. It's been doing that since the whole CnD thing and I've just ignored it since it didn't seem to be causing any issues.
You could go into the SMS app and shut off notifications from there. Might make a nice, powersaving script.
I don't know why the phone powers up without a notification. I have found I can't turn on my Wifi when I turn on Background data and it's been off for quite a while (still have autosync off). My data connection is showing heavy useage. The big G is watching us all. It makes me wonder if something is coming in to your phone from somewhere to wake it.
If it's killing you, you could try living without apps for a day you suspect might be doing it, or just schedule a kill at intervals if you can't uninstall it.
You could go into settings and change the screen timeout to 15 Sec so if it does come on, it wont stay on long..
Screen doesn't light up when notification comes through. Apps don't indicate there is a new email or notification unless I open the app. Things aren't sending notifications through on the regular unless prompted by me.
Anyone have any advice

I am having a similar problem. However, Power saving mode is turned off for me. Still, I am not receiving any notification alerts.
