Start up/Boot sound - Motorola Droid and Milestone General

I searched and did see a post in the Captivate forum but was wondering if anyone has a "how too" for changing the boot sound on a Milestone/Droid the stock "ding ding ding" annoys me and I've seen some Youtube videos of the boot up with a "droiiiiiiiiid" boot sound.
Anybody know how to do this and if you do, do you have the sound file. heh

Anyone? Thoughts...suggestions?

Use root explorer (or similar software) and find that sound file (*.ogg AFAIR). Change the name of the wanted one and switch them.

-Error -2401: an invalid sample description was found in the movie.

I read a comment that someone posted (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...4&postcount=12) about an error that they were having with videos recorded on the Kasier when played with QuickTime on a PC:
"-Error -2401: an invalid sample description was found in the movie."
I have an at&t Kaiser running the stock ROM and was wondering if anyone ever found a fix for the error. I have a bunch of videos I recorded and they all are giving this error when I try to play them with QuickTime on my PC. VLC Media Player will play the videos, but I get no sound.
All input is appreciated. Thanks.

in case you didn't find an answer yet, I read this on the at&t forums. Annoying, but it works:
I found an answer to this issue on the Quicktime Forums.
Simply change the extension from *.mp4 to *.3gp and all will work just peachy.

As long as you can see the extension on computer you can do it "normally known extensions are hidden but can be changed in folder options" or on phone
ok, but that doesnt tell me "how" it just tells me that it can be done. could you please explain to me how to do this? I ahve put all the files i want to change into a folder on my computer. XPpro
by the way, did i mention Apple SUX?! just checkin in case i didnt.
Well all it says is to change the extension:
Eg: moviename.mp4 to moviename.3gp
If you can't see the extension:
Control Panel\Folder Options\View"it's a tab" and untick hide extensions for known files.
so after you change the extention it will just play? no conversion at all? hmm i will give it a shot.
I found a real cool suite of programs to help out with this kind of stuff and much more. thought it might be helpfull to yourself and others.

[Q]Low Ringtone Volume

Hello with my first post...
I love my Diamond very much but there is one thing that really really pisses me out. That is ringtone volume when you pick your own mp3 or waw ringtone. Whenever i use a custom mp3 as my ringtone i barely hear the ring even the phone is in my pocket. But there is no such problem with the original ringtones. Even with the ones you dl from the htc club page. I compared their properties (khz, bit rate, etc) with the custom mp3s and they all look same. You guys have any solution for this annoying problem?

You can edit the files and raise their volume. Use an audio editing app like GoldWave.
Yeah that worked for me!
I used this and set gain to 98 and the result is perfect!

Manilla 2D Music Tab Default

Hi everyone,
Having trouble trying to change the default music player from Manilla 2D from audio manager to windows media. Currently using Hyperdragon III rom. tried searching the hyper dragon site, general rom development, google, etc and cant seem to find it.
Im sure its a really simple config item somewhere in the registry?
tried Manila 2D Customizer...still no luck
i second his problem, i want to do the same
And question here is. What is that change supposed to accomplish?
You might be able to change the player by editing the xml file. But with Audio Manager, you get the One touch play; once you change it you will be running Media player in the back ground
Moved the thread to the general section.
Thanks for understanding.
Tater
Try changing the default player to WM using Adv Config!
...A reason to change
I also want to do similar....however, I love the new Audio Mananger cab from HTC. BUT!!! I am peed off at having no direct access to volume control and that is spoiling the experience for me.
I dont want to change to WMP, but may have to if it turns out that it offers the much needed direct onscreen or HW access to volume control.
Incidently, to the point made about trying AdvConfig....It works NOT!. I tried several times to force the change over but to no avail. The way i have left my setup, is simply to install a previous version of Audio Manager (which doesnt offer the album cover facility) and place a shortcut to it on the Manila Programs tab. I found that using a diifernt version via the Audio tab screwed the screen up,

I believe that all you have to do is find the link for the HTC audio player in the /windows folder of your phone, copy the WMP link and rename it to the htc Audio player link, and overwrite. This is how I changed my web browser from opera to pie.
Let me know if this helps
bump. still havent found a resolution yet

[Q] Really loud volume

Anyone else think that the lowest volume setting is really loud for ringtones? I was using a song ringtone that I transferred over from my EVO4G and it's really really loud for the lowest setting.
On another topic, I then sent it to my computer to try to edit it using a sound editor, put it back on the phone in a Ringtones folder like before, and now it doesn't automatically appear in the list. I hit the + button at the top, select the track, and then get an error that HTC sound set has forced closed and do I want to send a report to HTC. Now every time I try to even change the ringtone, it force closes. The only solution is to change the name of the Ringtones folder.... any ideas as to wtf is going on?
Thanks
hmmmm
Did you maybe change the format of the song when you edited it? Like from MP3 to whatever else, I did that once, I would look at that.
Mine is loud too, but I like that cuz i'm almost 60 lol

HTC One Low Battery Sound

Hi Guys!
Hoping someone could help me out with customizing my Sprint HTC One. What I'm trying to do is to replace the original screen lock, screen unlock and low battery sounds with custom ones.
Now I did locate the folder /system/media/audio/ui and have found Lock.ogg, Unlock.ogg and LowBattery.ogg
I'm successfully able to replace Lock.ogg and Unlock.ogg and they work great. Now my problem comes with LowBattery.ogg. I can replace it with my custom sound but it doesn't have any effect. The same old sound still plays.
Now I've tried everything I could think of and nothing seems to work to get my custom low battery sound to play. Then I realized that the original LowBatter.ogg in the /system/media/audio/ui folder and the sound that actually plays aren't the same sound.
In the zip file attached are two files LowBatteryFile.ogg and LowBatterySound.acc.
LowBatteryFile.ogg is the original file found in /system/media/audio/ui
and
LowBatterySound.acc is a recording of the sound that actually plays when I get a low battery alert.
If you listen to them you can hear that they are different, LowBatteryFile.ogg is has a deeper base. So I came to the conclusion that LowBattery.ogg is not the alert sound that plays.
Does anyone know where the actually low battery sound file is located? Or how I can change the low battery alert sound.
Thanks a million!!
PS.
I'm also looking for the location of the "Pull-to-refresh" Sounds (the sounds that play when refreshing feeds and content) For example the sounds that play when refreshing the blinkfeed.
Thanks again!!
