Hi guys,
Recently, I installed a home replacement app it looks great. But I'm not sure how to undo when I click on the option "Use by default for this action. "
So the result is that I need to keep explicitly selecting the choice from the list of applications.
Can someone help me here.
Thanks

Use Home Switcher app from the market, or Settings -> Applications -> Manage applications -> select app -> Clear Defaults.
Oh thank you

[Q] What is the "accessibility" option for under Settings ~ Accessibility?
Is this an internal device option for rooted phones? It is greyed out and says that an accessibility app needs to be downloaded to be used.
Does anyone know? Sorry if this is a dumb question but i am still a bit of an Android noob...

Its for things like text to speech and to help people with vision problems. You need to dowbload the addons from market.

OK, I was trying to access videos on SyFy and came across tip to set UAString to "Desktop". I did that, but now when I start the browser I get an error that says "The application Browser (process com.android.browser) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. ........"
Unfortunately the error comes up before the browser opens, so I can't change settings back. Any ideas? A search both XDA and net didn't come up with anything.
Moved to Q&A.
I do not gave a direct answer but you can download a secondary browser from the market. Try dolphin. Atleast you will a browser

Thanks. I'm using Dolphin HD, but I'd like to get phone back. As last resort, will One Click Restore restore the apps too?

Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > click Menu and select Filter by All > Scroll down to Browser and click Clear Data
Keep in mind this will return all your settings to default (including uastring) and also delete all your favorites. BUT, your browser will be back working.
THANK YOU!! Worked like a charm.
Now did thst happen BECAUSE I changed the IAString, or just a tandom data corruption? Snyone know?

Not sure if this answers your question but anyways you can turn off automatic updating on the apps market page.

Open Market app, hit Menu, select Settings and uncheck the "Auto-update apps" box.

Click to collapse
I suggest doing this. I got sick of apps always wanting to update at the worst possible time.
Ya finally did that thx

so with lollipop I think android is killing processes automatically. before when I hit home the app stayed either frozen in time or doing its thing. now when I hit home if I stay away from an app too long when I go back into it it has to load from scratch... why does this happen and how do I stop it?

Am I the only one with this problem? No-one has an answer?

I would double check under the developer options that "Don't keep tasks active" box isn't checked and that the "Background task limit" is set to standard.
Settings -> Developer options -> Advanced. Look at the very bottom of the list under the "Apps" heading.

On my note 4 when I click on s link it opens XDA Spp, on note8 it only opens in browser. Have I missed a setting somewhere?
I believe it may have to do with which xda app you are using.
case in point, I must have installed the XDA Premium HD (also known as the XDA Legacy app) by mistake. Every time I click on an notification email from xda, it opens up my browser and not the xda app.
It seems that the older app does not take into account deep linking urls so the system thinks you want to view the link in a browser.
Proof of this is the app is not listed in the "Set as Default" settings page.
So go to Settings, Apps, clicking on the 3 dot menu, Default apps, Set as Default and the "Set as Default" page appears.
The Open links in apps button should be enabled.
If you installed th wrong xda app like the XDA Legacy app (XDA Premium), it will not show up on that list, but if you install the regular XDA (with ads) or the XDA Labs app (no ads), they will appear on that list.
Then and only then, when you click on a link pointing to xda, the popup will appear asking you to open the link in xda or your browser. So long as you are using the recent app and not the legacy older one.
Hope this helps.
TS out
Was using right app but didn't get popup, went in to app setting and changed url open from "always ask" to "in this app" now working thanks.
