My phone isn't showing up in adb devices... - Hero CDMA Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So, I was trying to root my phone again,(I had unrooted it to get it fixed) but for some reason, my compuer(running windows 7) is not recognizing my phone in CMD. It does not show up at all in ADB Devices. I've tried restarting the computer, restarting the phone, doing a hard reset, and nothing seems to work! I really need to get this done before i leave for the weekend. (not that im being pushy, or saying HELP ME NOW, or anything, just, please... anyone that can help me, let me know what to do asap.
I had CyanogenMod 6 running, if that matters.

There are some issues with the adb drivers working on win7.... take the vista drivers and install them manually. If you Google it you find info on how to manually install them.
Ill post more later.

[Q] Bricked my phone and don't know how to fix

I really need some help with my Zio m6000 cricket junk. I bricked it and can't figure out for the life of me how to fix it.
I read post after post in this forum and did everything I can think of and nothing is working. I have all the programs I think I need to dump the rom on my pc. None of them will even read that the phone is connected to the pc.
I sent message after message and only a few have responded but none knew how to help me. I thank those who did try though. I know there has to be a way to unbrick a Zio phone by now. None of the posts in the forum explain this in full detail because they are ALL from a year or more ago, or just don't explain in todays times how to do it.
I'm so close to just taking my hammer and smashing the phone and take the total loss with it. I can't affored to buy another phone, and Cricket service eats a **** for helping me replace the phone.
CAN ANYONE PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD HELP ME INSTAL, RUN, PROGRAM WHAT NEEDS PROGRAMMED OR WHATEVER IT IS I NEED TO DO TO GET MY PHONE WORKING AGAIN????????
TC
(SOLVED)
I'm not the most experienced, so I am not entirely sure if this will work, but I know it fixed my bootloop issue. Have you tried doing a factory restore? To do so, hold the power button and the volume down button. A screen will pop up, simply navigate using your scroll ball and select the factory restore option. Note that this will erase all Apps and user data on the phone (mine stayed rooted and kept some of the settings I changed via file manager). Sorry if this doesn't help, I hope that you figure it out soon. I'm sure some people on here can help you more than I can.

3. Run the updater let it run its course.
4. Let it reboot (or manually reboot) - it may take up to five minutes to boot.
Thank you guys for all your advice
Thank you all, sinisin got me on google talk today and helped me step by step to reflash my whole phone to the new rom and get it working again for me . I would NEVER have done it myself, if anything I would have made the phone worse trying. lol, I have to thank you all for your help but most of all the biggest thanks has to goto sinisin for being very patient with the whole process and getting my phone running again for me. THANK YOU SINISIN.
So far i'm killing the battery for the calibration part of the instructions and all seems very good so far.
I also want to say and give extreme credit to all involved with making the custom 2.1 rom and getting it working. THANK YOU GUYS. ITS AWSOME! to what I've seen of it so far. I haven't messed with it just yet but getting ready to reinstal most of my apps back to my phone and DELETE clockworkmod from its sd card so i hopefully never brick it again using that crap. I knew better and was such a dummy noob for trying to use it.
Thank you again guys as well as you sinisin,

Hey ive tried this method but it keeps looking for the phone in debugging.
It only stays in Fastboot and thats the only thing that loads up.
Ive tried flashing the system.img's that i have found all say successful but it always boots back up into Fastboot.
Let me know if you have another method or any suggestions.
Thanks
If your M6000 Zio is a brick, run the leaked 2.2.1 from Zclusive. You will need to put the Zio into modem download mode then start the update.

If it is going into fastboot your not pressing the correct buttons on boot up. You have to push the Red, Green and Both volume buttons simultaneously and the phone will boot into Modem Download mode.
Update Failed
Ok I have installed the Modem drivers from Kyoceras website and made sure its connected in download mode. It says download mode on it.
Then I downloaded and opened the 2.000CR.5 etc
When it looks for the phone it says Update Failed.
Never picks it up. And I am running Windows XP just incase you wanted to know.
Its SP3.
Any ideas on why its not working for me?
Thanks again everyone for helping

Error device not found

I don't know how much this comes up but, my one can't use adb. I've gotten the required drivers and usb debugging checked on. Still says device not found. I've tried changing cables, computers and resetting my phone and no dice. I'm kinda at a loss on what to do. I'm running the 4.3 original sprint.

My pc at home works just fine...my work pc on the other hand has this same issue. Home pc is 32 bit, work pc is 64 bit. It's either something driver related or because it's 64 bit, I haven't had a chance to really diagnose yet. I would start by completely removing htc drivers and try again. Or maybe try a different pc if no luck getting it to work. This weekend I will try to get it working on my work pc and report back what I figured out.
That's the weird thing about it. I've reinstalled drivers, put it on different computers, x64 bit included and nothing works it just says device not

From what I can find about the "Offline" status is that you need to update your Android-Sdk there have been quite a few updates recently.
Also try this for configuring your drivers correctly
(If you are using Windows 8.1 this will most likely not work)
On your PC go to device manager and find your phone(usually M7WLS), right click and select properties
Select the driver tab
Select update driver
Select browse my comp
Let me pick
Look for ADB USB device or similar should be one of the first couple choices
Select MyHTC install and you should be good
That's the thing my old sdk was working fine that's the thing I have the drivers updated ok. It recognized my device but it shows my phone to be offline.

Uninstall everything HTC
Unplug your phone
Reboot your PC
Install these drivers
Plug in phone and let it install the drivers(it will install drivers in recovery, bootloader, and booted to your OS)
Then do the steps I posted if you still have problems.
I followed what you did, and followed the instruction you posted earlier as well. I went to Driver tab and tried to update the drive and there wasn't an option for ADB USB Devices. I unchecked the recommended box and still came up with nothing :/ Is there anything else I need to install?

I had to update the SDK and the computer was able to recognize my HTC One. Not sure if you have encounter this before...
I unlocked my phone, install TWRP 2.500 with Toolkit v3.1. And when I went into the recovery, the touch screen won't work. I did some research and it seems I need to install new version of TWRP. However, I'm not sure how to install it without using the toolkit... and most people talked about GooManager... but my device isn't rooted yet... I was gonna root it using TWRP but the touch screen wouldn't work. So I'm stuck :/

Have you made sure that you have the latest Fastboot available? I always check using the Android SDK Manager before attempting anything with a new device.
Unplug the device and reboot it. Then, try again.
If that doesn't work, try a different USB port (preferably one that is on the motherboard itself).
Also, you can try removing HTC Sync. You can always reinstall it after.

This, HTC sync is good for syncing but tends to interfere with adb commands and stuff like that, most instructions tell you to remove it because of this.

I've had similar issues with ADB and Fastboot not recognizing my phones after plugging them in. Usually a reboot of the phone and killing/restarting the service fixes the issue.
Glad you have it working now though. :good:

[Q] Stuck in Fastboot and can only access hard reset which goes back to fastboot

Hello,
I know there are a ton of "stuck in fastboot" threads but I've spent hours going through them and none of them seem to be what's happening to me. Or maybe all of them combined would... anyway, I would greatly appreciate some help as I'm at my witt's end. I've even somehow managed to screw up a dual boot of Ubuntu on my windows machine, but that's something I'll fix for myself later
Anyway, here's all the info I can think of and what I have done so far.
A month or two I rooted my phone. I never flashed a custom rom or anything. I altered a couple settings but that's it. My phone has worked perfectly this entire time.
Yesterday there was an OTA. I didn't even intend to accept it, I just got the notification and then my phone shut off and went to fastboot. That's pretty much where I've been ever since.
Rebooting gets me to fastboot. Attempting recovery mode gets me to the hard reset screen but not recovery. Trying to hard reset just goes back to fastboot. Download mode does not come up.
Windows sees my phone but disables it because of an error. Attempting to reinstall drivers does nothing. Ubuntu doesn't acknowledge that the phone is there under the regular terminal. If I run the fastboot tool it wont list it but it will respond to a couple commands. I can reboot... into fastboot. Anything else gets the "waiting for device" notification. My device just says "processing commands" but nothing happens.
So that's where I'm at right now. That's the condensed version of the last 18 hours but I think it contains most of the relavent information. I would greatly appreciate any assistance. I'm lucky to have this phone and I would be very upset if I lost it.
Thank you.

No problem. I've got my phone shut off to save battery because I'm under the impression that it won't charge in fastboot and I didn't figure repeating that would be good for it. I'm still trying to restore Windows. I'm not used to being limited to a single computer but without my phone and my desktop currently in another state I'm a bit frustrated.
Anyway, I appreciate the help and will keep trying. I'll update if anything happens.

That's what I'm working on now, I screwed up the dual boot and can't get back into windows. Okay. I'm just going to grab my brother's laptop and use it so I can get this done. I can fix my computer later.
I'm going to start at the beginning of the tutorial since it'll be on a different computer. We'll see how it goes.
Edit: Okay, back to windows and this is what I have going on. I've installed the drivers for my phone, set up the sdk and gone into cmd but even with the drivers Windows is telling me that it has disabled my phone because it is malfunctioning (error code 43). Therefore no matter what I do it will not acknowledge the phone or communicate with it. If I try doing anything it just hangs on "waiting for device".
FIXED!
WOOHOO!!
It's working again! I'm not sure exactly how I did it but I rebooted my computer and suddenly the phone said "processing commands" so even though it still wasn't listed as a device I ran boot.img just to see what happened and it's back up and running just like nothing ever happened.

Honestly the best thing to use is a Windows 7 PC.. Anyways, what's wrong with your phone? Does it reboot every 30 seconds?
Also, there are ways to get adb working on windows 8.1, if you're like me and don't have a windows 7 computer at home all the time
Finally, you stated that it won't connect to your 8.1 PC. Do you get any error at that time? Do you have the latest HTC drivers installed? Is your cable good?
Sorry if I wrote a lot, just trying to get you up and running.
EDIT: I GOT THE PC TO SEE MY HTC ONE!!!!!!
sry for the caps, but I soft bricked my phone back in April... ( i took a lil break from fixing it... just like 2 months lol) but I just followed this link here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2559200 and apparently I have to disable driver sigs every time i start up? Idk cause I've dont that before but whatever, did it again, and used the adb drivers from the link and now Im connected... Decided to go balls to the wall and skip the stock rom, and straight to Viper 6.2... so after I finish the download I"ll let you know what happened...

Umm, I think that link somehow got me this youtube vid, which had the link for the adb drivers... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUjQnwULGzs
But that's the drivers I used to get my phone working on Windows 8.1...
Edit 2: Well i was able to sideload ViperOne to my phone and... it continues to reset itself... So a similar problem but now at least the phone is seen as One now, not some random usb device... and even the Internal Storage pops up when plugged in.... So now i'll prob go ahead and run the stock RUU... see if that helps any
