But, I do not recommend using a bike mount unless you are really good at biking that you will never fall or you don't mind breaking your phone.

Just for be able to post new thread. Sorry.
In my opinion original LG SCS-390 (car holder) + LG CLA-305 (car charger) should be the best (best fit, stability and quality).

Just an update
This product has performed fairly well
Its permanently stuck to my windscreen and hasnt come off unless I remove it myself
It sometimes moves from the vibrations/road etc but if you have it rest against the a-pillar on one side its fairly stable
perfect for gps use and even in car camera
I have used it on a trackday as well and the video results are pretty decent, the only letdown is the sound. The holder also performed impressively at the track too.
Perfect holder for LG P970
Available from tesco stores for £5 (with a voucher doubled up)
Its the circular one similar to the one on mobilefun. It does fit, but best get them to show you first
Is there a link?
Go in store. Its not on their website
Can you post a pic please?

I bought it yesterday - it is wide enough to hold the note 2 but it's at the limit of the holder's maximum width. Not sure I'll keep it as it's maybe a tad too flimsy. I would be a bit afraid that the plastic arm might break and then note would fall.
Thanks for the tip though, joey.

I feel the same way. I just don't trust windshield mounts.
I got an iOttie for mine and have it suctioned in a cubby behind my shifter in my Honda Civic. This mkes it so the holder piece leans on the edge of the opening, giving it support.
It does take the weight (doesnt fall off when driving on the bumpy cornish roads/lanes)
It fits perfectly with about a cm to spare
It might look flimsy but its actually quite tough
If you want something better spend more than a fiver

This is a tenner in my local tesco - how did you get it for a fiver? Coupons?
I didn't mean to be overly critical of it by the way - it looks solid enough. I think I will have my phone mostly in portrait though, so i'd like something at the bottom to stop it slipping down.

No probs, all in good jest.
It was double up tesco vouchers so only cost me a fiver
I've been using the Mountek MT5000-D and it's great.
Works great with both my note 1 and my note 2.
I was using the tetrax x-way before but it just couldn't handle the weight of the note.
it would just keep falling off.

If you're really attached to your own gloves, I've seen diy options for "touch-screen gloves." They usually just involve sewing conducting thread (often silver) into a few fingers and making sure it can conduct from your fingers to the screen.

These actually look pretty good. I picked up a cheap pair of conductive gloves a few weeks ago but they're rather thin, and with poor circulation they probably won't do much in the long run so I'll definitely have to look into these. Thanks for sharing!

I have the E-Tip gloves too. They work good with this phone. The size alone helps. As I have used them with the Sensation and One S before that.

It works, but I'm more comfortable using my hands, and I type faster regularly than when using any swype-like keyboard, so these gloves are definitely something I'll be looking into, especially with their rather cheap international shipping rates.

I just wanted to share my project that I been working on. I installed a nexus 7 tablet in the dash of my 2013 Chevy Silverado. I completely removed the factory radio. Installed an aftermarket amplifier for audio out to the truck speakers. Working steering wheel controls for audio playback.
Redoing my install. I bought a case for the tablet and fiberglassed it right to the dash.
Still have more sanding to do...
I would advise against using the case I bought. The fiberglase/bondo does not stick to it.

Steering wheel controls work using a joycon exr connected to a usb otg cable then to the nexus 7. Here's a link to the site you can order it from. There's more info there too.

This is a very cool project and good work! If I wasn't such a poor graduate student I would consider doing this with maybe a galaxy note. My Mazda 6 dash is too small I think to accommodate a tablet. Thanks for sharing!
Very nice setup man.
I also have a Silverado and just began my install and just started working on the mounting process but im a little stuck. Do you think you could provide more detail about how you mounted your nexus? I bought a $10 double din kit off eBay but it doesn't really fit too well so I need some new ideas.
Thanks!

I used some epoxy (http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000PELVT0) to glue the frame of the double din kit to the kit. I then used a dremel to cut the the front of the kit to the desired thickness I wanted for the frame. Then used some plastic and the epoxy again to build a case around the tablet. If I have time after work today I'll take mine out and take some more pics of it and upload them for you. I pretty much only used the frame and the parts that screw to the truck from the kit. The rest is some other plastic I had and the epoxy.

Any car with a console big enough to support a double-DIN headunit has room for a 7" tablet. That's almost exactly how big the opening is.
Thanks that would be great. Any other ideas on how to mount it would be helpful too.
I got a webcam to work in the daylight by attaching some sun glass lens to it. I'm not sure how it will fair in the dark tho.

For triggering the reverse camera...the joycon exr that you can use for the steering wheel controls can also be used to trigger the camera. Nice set up. I have been running a Nexus in my A4 for about 4 months or so now, it's an awesome piece of kit to have in the car. My project is 99% complete, but just need to figure out a way to tidy up how it looks in the dash.
Has anyone seen any kind of tech, case, housing, or attachment that adds sound to both sides of the phone, similar to the HTC one? With such a gorgeous screen this phone is perfect for Netflix or movies but I hate having to Cup my hand around the bottom of the phone to improve the sound. Also not always in the mood for the complete isolation that earbuds enforce.
Thanks

Thanks for the idea, I didn't realise LG sold a docking station, it looks pretty cool but that doesn't really solve my problem. Nice idea tho!

Yeah, or even just some sort of device that snaps onto the sides. And either redirects the sound of reproduces it. You're right tho, it's prolly a pretty small market. I just wish LG would have followed HTC in that respect. They seem to have put a lot of effort into the quality of the sound the phone is capable of handing but didn't care about how well it reproduces that sound.
