I've been running Cognition 2.2 beta1 since the day it came out. Today I restarted my phone and it started to vibrate every 5 seconds or so non-stop. I realized I couldn't type anything using the Swype keyboard so I enabled the Samsung keyboard and the vibrating stopped.
Is there any way to get the use of Swype back without having to flash the phone again?
I disabled the lag fix and that didn't fix it.

Has anyone else had a problem with the keyboard? At times the keyboard doesnt show what im typing in the box, better keyboard, IME Mod does it untill i choose touch input and use that for a little while then both of those work again. It does at random times every day, anyone now why it does this?
Does this happen at startup or just randomly? ive seen this in drachdroid also, i think its a memory error or something, just exit out of the app (kill it) and reopen, should be fine.
Or its a kernal issue? anyone?
it happens randomly , i have to switch to touch input ofr a few minutes and then the other keyboards work again, even the touch input delays a bit sometimes before what you wrote appears in the box
Yea I had this happen to me the other day . No matter what letter I pressed the letter q would show up . Simple reset did the trick

for some reason today when i restarted my phone.. it kept vibrating every maybe 10 seconds. i tried to respond to a text message, and the swype keyboard was no longer functioning.. it would show only the alphabet letters keys, but not the other keys. when i switched to default to the samsung keyboard it worked fine. anyone have any idea whats wrong? thanks
I don't have any answers for you but I also have that problem. I flashed the 2.2 kernel one night last week and everything was working fine. The next morning my phone started vibrating every 10 seconds or so. I switched to the Samsung keyboard and everything worked.
I sideloaded the android keyboard since Samsung took it out of their 2.2 build and have actually really liked it.

i actually ended up just flashing the new cog. like it alot better anyways.. problem fixed lol
have a Captivate that I recently flashed Di11i's 7.1.1 to, before that I had flashed my first ROM which was Serendipity 6.2. Both times I have found that I don't get incoming calls. People calling me get 2-3 rings, and then a traditional "busy signal" sound. On my end, either the phone vibrates once but the screen doesnt change from whatever screen I'm on. Or, The screen goes black like its going to the incoming call screen, but the black screens only flashes and goes away, as does a force close message box that goes away quickly without me clicking it.
Everything else on my phone works as far as I can tell, I've been running my current ROM for about 5 days without issues other than this one. This same exact problem also happened when I flashed Serendipity 6.2 (which I only kept for like a day because of this problem)
Try flashing to stock then master clear. Try flashing new rom after that.

What are you restoring after a flash
MIUI
Has anyone else heard of this problem? Sometimes when I receive a text message the phone will receive the message and start vibrating, at which point the screen goes black and all buttons become unresponsive. The phone will continue to vibrate for about ten seconds before rebooting. It doesn't do it every time, and it only does it for text messages, and only when the phone is set to vibrate upon receiving a text message.
I'm running GingerVolt 1.3 and had the same issue on 1.2 and 1.1. I am not sure if it did the same thing on the stock rom. I have wiped data/factory reset and that does not seem to fix it. I am also using Handcent SMS, if that could have anything to do with it.
Any information about this is greatly appreciated!
I have had it happen once that was on gingervolt 1.2 also on vibrate mode and also using handcent.

Never had it happen on Revolt or Gingervolt. Using the stock messaging app.

I've had it happen a couple times recently. Once yesterday and once this morning. Both times I was in Vibrate Only mode. I was not receiving texts at the time, but it could have been triggered by email alerts or phone calls. I noticed the phone buzzing for ten seconds, the screen was unresposive and the LED indicator was blue. Then it showed the LG screen with a small buzz and loads up fine.
I had it happen when using Exchange once - The phone was hot to begin with, so I knew something was wrong. I received the Exchange e-mail notification, pulled down the notification bar, clicked and bam - reboot.
I'm glad to hear it's not just me. This has been happening since I got my Revo, on both my original and warranty replacement.
I've never used stock long enough to know if it occurred on any of them.
But for me the phone doesn't reboot after 10 seconds, it just keeps vibrating like a prank sex toy from hell until I remove the battery.

Same here. I'm not even sure if I'm in vibrate mode only or not, but it does freak me out a bit when it happens and have to peel off the case to get to the battery, I'm always afraid its going to go all Mission Impossible on me and blow up!
See if the same behavior is observed when vibrate is turned off. There could be an issue with your haptic engine causing it to crash and this would help narrow it down.
Only happens on vibration for me, also. But I have it on vibrate ~90% of the time so I don't know if this qualifies as proof to that fact

It has never happened to me when the phone was set to not vibrate. I did a test and set it to not vibrate only when I received a text. It seemed to have no problems until I got an email yesterday and bam. Reboot.

Hi,
Like the topic says my Galaxy S1 keeps freezing when the screen turns out. I can press any buttons there will be no sign of a working phone. I always have to remove the battery and plug it in again. Then I have to restart the phone to be able to use it again.
I have cm10.1 nightly. I used the build of 27.02 since yesterday. Always worked since 1 or 2 weeks. Now I tried it with an update to the build of yesterday. Still no change.
Does somebody has a clue what to do?
