This vis the official pay version of CorePlayer. It works on WinMo 6, 6.1 and 6.5.
Just download the cab file and either put it on an SD card or in your phone's memory. Once that is done just install it either to the SD card or the phone. Have fun this is totally free for those wondering. LOL
Just downloaded and installed no problems.
Works a peach!
Thanks!!

I successfully upgraded from WM2003 to WM2005 some months ago. I'd now like to upgrade again to TuMa 1.3. Currently my existing rom is 5.03.02 and it crashes quite regularly - especially if people call me.
Anyway, I've been reading through the wiki and a lot of the threads again but there's one thing I can't seem to understand. It seems as if upgrading requires an SD card? Is this the case?
Now, before I'm accused of not reading the documentation, I have and it quite clearly states, "copy the EXTROM folder to your storage card". That's fine and well but I've never had an SD card so how did I manage the first upgrade?
What I've been trying to find out (with little success) is if "storage card" is like the ROM storage area but before I flash my SPV M2000 into a very expensive paperweight I thought I'd better check. Better safe than sorry I guess.
Can someone confirm?
no sd card
i've got a spv m2000 and no sd card but i've managed to upgrade to tuma 1.3 no problem i just copied the extrom to the storage on the phone got less storage now but still works fine

Do you remember where you copied it to? Was it the root directory or just in My Documents?
My worry is I'll copy it somewhere that the install program won't be looking. In the documentation it explicitly states "storage card/EXTROM". It'd be just my luck to copy to the files to the root of my device - try to flash it and having it fail because it couldn't find the image files.
You seriously don't have an SD Card?!
Go to a store, buy a 128 MB one for nearly nothing. Honestly, I can't imagine running a Windows Mobile device without one, especially Windows Mobile 5. There just isn't enough space natively in the device.
You don't technically NEED anything in the EXTROM folder either. Alternatively, you can just take all of its contents (cab files) and put them on your device using activesync, and run them in File Explorer to install them. It's the same thing, just not automatic.

I've not had the need to use much memory on the phone really.
When I had an iPAQ I needed loads of memory and was always using it everywhere but I've found the SPV to be very slow (hopefully improved with the new ROM) and also the headphone socket is proprietary so I can't use headphones that fit my ears that don't fall out.
As well as this, I no longer use Windows - well I use my gf's laptop to flash the phone but that's about it. There's very little integration with Unix and the SPV and it's led to a dramatic reduction of usage.
I've heard of some programs that can sync with Evolution on Unix but they're very unstable at the moment and require quite some understanding to get working and I don't have the time to get that working just yet - maybe in a few weeks time.
I've already ordered an SD card but was just a little excited about the prospect of flashing the ROM (it's like Christmas morning for me!) and was wondering if I could do it without it.
Anyway, running the cabs one by one sounds like a solution for the time being. I thought it needed to replace parts of the sub-system that needed a hard reset no?
Once the ROM is flashed, will Device Information reflect the ROM Version as WM5 5.1.1700?
There is no problem to flash this rom without SD card, because you can install manually every cab from extrom after flashing

Thanks xplode.
I've worked out that the cabs are completely independent of the ROM update and as such don't even need to be on the device.
I thought they were like install files and needed to be present after reboot for the flashing to complete properly. My mistake.
Hi,
When I install something onto my Vario from my PC it automatically installs in the default location.
On my other PDA I get the choice, how come I don't with my Vario, and how can I install something to my mini SD?
Thanks all,
Thought I had sorted it, but no.
Any ideas, I want to install TomTom but don't have enough room.

Does the Vario use WM 2003? If so that is why everything from a PC install goes to main memory. Do a search, there is a cab installer program somewhere that you can put on your Vario that will allow you to select where you want to install.

Naa it uses WM5, my Axim uses WM2003SE and that asks.
Will do a search for the cab thanks.
Well the thing is, tomtom HAS to be installed to the device i guess. I always install tomtom naviagator 6.02 (with the todayscreen plugin). It comes up with where I wish to install it, sd card or the device. Of course i select the sd card, but nevertheless it installs in the device. I've tested it with several roms, and also with the WM6 rom. Problem is still there, so i guess it's not a bug but a feature, haha.

you can move the executables to the SD card and it will work... just move the navigator directory from program files to sd program files, make a link to it, and everything works... as for TT5 and TT6, have both installed on SD card. And also you can remove those TTODAY files from root dir if not using the TT today screen, and also all the files for contact navigation if you dont use that. At the end only the executable dir has to be somewhere.

well yesterday , i came to realize that all my files on the sd card is all gone...then i got a call from my gurl friend( she has a wing too..) and her file are all gone also...wut's goin on ? we both have the pdaviet rom installed....all my musics, cabs, pics, vids.....they are all gone.....can someone help out?
i even try reading the sd card on my laptop and nope...nothing on it....could it be the pdaviet rom's problem?
It probably got corrupted... sometimes if you run programs directly from the card, it can do that...
You can try to use a partition/data recovery program with a memory card reader to try to retrieve the data.
sometimes also if you use a program like SKtools or Memaid or Pocket Mechanic and such and you try to optimize the memory, it wipes out your micro SD card. I've had it happen twice now.
I stopped using those programs.
They do some other functions well.
just like ivanmmj said, Use a Data Recovery program wich you can download from the web. it'll recover mostly like 99% of your files. I use File Scavenger 3.2. It works great.
But you need a License key to get it fully working. i'll send it to you. just use mine.
are they all gone for real.. or did windows create a Storage Card 2 file?
if they are gone.. that is very sad. i feel for you. :-(
I have just installed the new rom from duttyrom and for some reason i cant install tomtom 7. Its the official version from tomtom. It works on all the other 6.5 roms but for some reason it wont install. Other cab files from my sd card indtall. I have tomtom on another memory card as well and it is the very same so i cant say that it is the card....... Any ideas. Oh and i also put all my cabs in the autoinstall folder on the memory card
Try to post in the specific thread for the ROM you are using. Better chances of help there!

Hi, this is my first post on this forum and i'm hoping to get some help to solve my problem.
I have an unlocked ATT treo 750 that i'm currently using with T-Mobile. I was happily running windows 5 and decided to try this new windows mobile 6.5 so i downloaded the rom from a thread on this forum and i ran the update process while my phone was connected to windows zync porgram, so it worked fine, but as soon as i rebooted my phone to the new windows 6.5 it gave me the
"This concludes de beta test of this software release...." now i try to reconnect my phone to my pc to zync and flash another rom but i won't recognize the connection.
what can i do, i know there is a way to flash a rom using your mini sd card but i'm not sure about this process....tell me if i have it right:
1. format your mini sd card using fat32, using a computer with a card reader (i can't format it using my phone cause of ovious reasons)
2. copy the rom image to the mini sd card on the root folder. the rom image should be in .nbh format. (i have a rom called CHEEIMG.nbh by Navenedrob)
3. re-insert the mini sd cad to the phone.....I DONT KNOW WHAT DO AFTER THIS, and what do you mean by HARD SPL or SPL... is it a file i should copy along with the CHEEIMG.nbh file in the mini sd card????
PLEASE HELP ME.. what buttons do i press on my treo 750 to trigger installation...?????
thanks
Hello there if you look a couple of threads down on main form page there's a post by Navenedrob who gives step by step instructions on how to sucessful complete the whole process
I did it about 2 weeks ago as a newbie and it very easy to follow very good update

Hi,
I'm sorry, I wrote that tutorial for people who couldn't use HARD SPL (A piece of software that lets you flash the phone) to get Windows Mobile 6.5.
Try formatting the memory card to FAT32 using a card reader, then from your computer, download the ROM here and paste it onto your memory card (ROM Link- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=541417 ).
Load the memory card into the phone.
Where you've just loaded the memory card, there is a Reset button. It's tiny, and its located where the memory card slot is.
On the other side of the phone is the Media Button. It's the one below the volume buttons. Hold this button down and press the Reset key with your stylus.
The screen should load into the "Bootloader" mode and try to scan your memory card. If it recognises the CHEEIMG.NBH file, it will ask you to press the Call End key and then go on installing itself (I hope).
After saying all this, please note that I'm not an expert and had to experiment. I didn't however brick my phone with a Beta release so I'm giving you this in the hopes that it will work.
Just make sure you have the CHEEIMG.NBH file. It may have a different filename (anything that comes before .nbh), you just have to rename it.
Secondly make sure your card is formatted to FAT32. Google it if you don't understand or if you don't know how. I use a mac so formatting is easy.
Thirdly, familiarize yourself with starting up in Bootloader mode.
Have a play, I hope this helps.
