because of my newly colored trackball i would enjoy having it turn and stay on (like the htc hero) when the screen is on. attempts to find and app or setting to do this have failed.
im running a cyanogen rom so perhaps there is a setting somewhere im missing?
Colored trackball? On an Eris?

i spent more than an hour looking into how i could do this myself.. checked forums and google for existing apps, looked into developing my own app, and looked into hacking/modding some files in the phone to fix my problem. all the work is beyond my ability and i just dont have the time to learn how to do these things on my own right now.. my best bet is to ask one of you who understand this sort of thing to use the source code from "covedesign dev" to achieve what i want.. so please, if you have nothing better to do, help me out?

Like the title says.
Wouldn't that be much better/easier to accomplish instead of the App which uses the Screen for it?
I wouldn't bother having my softkeys blinking or pulsing.. pulsing would be rather cool!
Best regards
There is another thread where a guy (or several) is trying to develop this. :/
Perhaps you could entertain the Search option next time.

Hello devs. I was wondering if n e one could make me a deodexed 2.2 rom that is themed black and red with blur, with custom icons. Pretty much like stock with the exceptions of the bloat, yet keep the dialer settings (##program#) and such. Would greatly appreciate it.
Edit: if posted in the wrong section pls move. Just thought since it pertained to development that i should post it here. Thx mods.
flash a deboat rom, and theme it yourself. there is a good guide in the dx wiki. i have personally tried some theming and to be honest, its not that hard.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=749333
i have. but most of them remove the programming menus. thats y im looking to the devs for help. or a fast way to deodex and debloat my stock rom. tried rubix blurry but it kept giving me problems with my net. and marketplace.
Sent from my DROIDX using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
why do you need the menus? if you really need a rom, make it yourself. it cant be THAT hard for a simple debloat...
it shouldnt be. but working 60+ hours between 2 jobs gives me little to no time to work on my computer. otherwise i would have. i usually download roms through my phone and then flash em.
Sent from my DROIDX using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
oh as to why i need them, im on cricket service so i have to have them for when the phone decides to act stupid and switch up the settings. which happens every now and then with the stock rom for some reason.

Just as an fyi... without any java programming skills, it is VERY hard to develop a ROM. I'm not trying to be rude, but you can't just decide, hey, I want to make a ROM and do it. Having some background in java development helps. And even then, it would take some knowledge of the way Android is built, as it has its own classes and activities that aren't native to Java I believe.
I read a certain thread last night from beginning to end both had good points from both sides that made me think a little bit and i thought i would put this list of apk files together real quick hoping it might help some people out there.
I take no credit for any of these what so ever! it is just a list of apk files I have gathered from my learning and flashing of my own personal phone.
thank you to all the devs out there for putting together all the roms, themes, hacks, tweaks, fixes and all that you do! I greatly appreciate all of you and all of your work! and dealing with people like me (junior member) and our noob questions.
Disclaimer: I am in no way responsible for anything that goes wrong with your phone from flashing these. I am not responsible for what you choose to do with your phone.
Well with all that said here is the list:

thx but i suppose they will have to just try and see if it works (and hopefully they do a backup first) for those then cuz i honestly have no idea what its from ive done plenty of flashing on my phone (some froyo and some ginger) and got these over time when they were included with whatever i flashed.
Just pull which ever version you have on your phone now and replace it

isnt SetCPU 2.24 a paid app..
SetCPU
as for the rest of the apps wouldnt it be easier to have bundled them all together in a zip folder and have users download from megaupload or other fileshare websites.
EDIT*
But you can download 2.24 setCPU on that link from the developer?
im confused..
The dev gave it away for free to any one who bothered to look on xda first so it should be okay unless he specially said were not allowed to distribute on xda
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA Premium App
I think you are supposed to redirect to the original thread for set cpu. There are many better apps for OC'ing anyways.
are these all themed or something? seems that quite a few are already readily available in the market.

They r not themed, in op this is just what I've collected over some time and thought I would share it with all of xda, there is just about every stock apk that comes with the epic out of the box. in case for example someone flashes a rom and wants the stock "feedsnupdates widget" back after flashing now they can get it easily. I thought this might help some devs out there not to have to answer some questions repeatedly in a rom thread. The others I just had so posted all of them. If u don't need/want any of these don't download it, should u ever though beause u flashed a rom and want something that wasn't included it in then u might find it here.

First, I can't post in the GingerHome ROM post under the Revo Development forum. I guess maybe because I have less than 10 posts? The forum rules or something will not let me. That is why I posted this here.
After I installed this ROM from the zip through clockworkMod I rebooted and I get the following error:
The application Home (process android.process.lghome) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
I can tap "Force Close" but it immediately keeps popping back up so it basically locks me out. I rebooted and restored back to stock, but I was wondering if anyone else had this problem? I know mtmichaelson is focused on GingerVolt ROM and it was nice, but it was too stripped down for me. I wanted to keep some of the stock apps like the weather widget and I liked getting the email and messages on the lock screen.
It is just me or my phone, or is it some coding in the ROM?
mtmichaelson, if you read this, keep up the good work!

Try redownloading and flashing the new download. The GingerHome is not a rom, it is just a add on for GingerVolt hence the reason nothing really changes in it. It is basically just the stock LG stuff to go on top of GV. Let me know how it works.

Ah ok. So I install GingerVolt, then I install this? This just adds onto the GV. I got it now. Yeah no wonder I was having problems. I just installed GingerHome over the stock ROM.
I am such a noob to all this. Of course this is my first Android phone though. (Came from BB). This phone is soooo much better.
While I am at it, what does it take to develop for this phone? I saw something about Kitchen sink(?) to develop ROMs but I guess it does not work with the Revo?

For this phone in particular a lot of time and patience lol. The Android kitchen only helps when dealing with the boot.img on this phone, but does require Linux to edit. Other than that there are several other tools out there depending on if you are wanting to modify smali code, or apps. If you are wanting to get into it, come to the irc sometime, there are several of us that hang out on there at night.

As a OO developer, SMALI makes me want to shoot myself in the head...
It's like editing ILDASM, only it seems less intuitive.
I flashed to GingerVolt 1.3 and then put on GingerHome. Everything seems to be working great. Now, when ever I hit the home button, I get a popup asking to complete this action with LG Home or ADW.Launcher. I like LG Home as the launch as the ADW one would disappear on me sometimes or I would would accidentally delete the apps launcher and have to add it back.
If I set the LG Home as default, is there a way to switch back to ADW if I want?
I think starting with an app would be better for development, but how much time does it involve? Also, how do I get into IRC? and what time is "at night?" I have a 13mo and I never know what time I might have to getup so I don't stay up late anymore.

You can make the LGhome as the default launcher, and if you want to reverse that, go to settings>applications>all>lghome click on LGhome and press the Reset Defaults button at the bottom.
Developing apps, go on youtube, and type android developing tutorials. Obviously it will not be easy from the start. It requires basic XML and java language knowledge which will take getting used to
I'm looking for a notification bar toggle switch to flash to stock like the custom roms have on them. I know there are some apps that do this but they aren't quite the same as many of them launch a popup. I mainly need to add wifi, GPS, and Bluetooth toggles to the notification bar for fast access (only turn GPS on when in car dock and need the toggle to turn it on once in car mode since I use an alternative car app and can't go into Android options)
Any help would be appreciated

Head over to my droid world. Look up bionic mods.
DroidJunk has 1 there the only requirement is deodexed. Even easier google DroidJunk
Thank you. I like the stock, but can't live.without the toggles (GPS and wifi). More specifically, I should say that I like Motorola's email and all in one messaging apps. Other than those and zumocast, I don't particularly care. Unfortunately 2 out of the 3 only work with stock from my previous experiences.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using XDA App
I have tryed all of the email apps pay and free. Have never found an better one than the Moto's email and all in one messaging apps. Also, it is the only one that allows custom fonts for signature. I also love zumocast and use it daily.
You should know, you can use any of the old droid th3ory blury roms. They let you keep the Moto email and aio messaging.
I use [k]in3tx as I don't particularly care the stock colors and theme.
The only other email app I like is the default Gmail app. Not all my email addresses are Gmail so I also need the Motorola email app.

I have 2 other questions (probably wouldn't even ask if the bionic community wasn't so disorganized) . Do you know where I can find a deodexed.zip that is for the 902 update? The one I found was for an earlier build. Also, do the roms you mentioned work with 902?
Sent from the Evil Empire
I found the 902 deodex so I don't need that answered. Apparently, I'm going to have to stop looking at xda as the first source for Android development (kind of strange for me since on my old phones, this was the main spot to go to find anything)

Well there are so many out there... But They all seem to lock up, Or double lock your device.
Recently I found Mylocker It uses the huge MIUI Library of themes And never interferes with the phone's sop. It is fantastic! In the market, And free. And it'll give you a taste of MIUI. Market link below

Sorry, I use the xda app and don't see a thanks button. But thank you. Sorry it doesn't help your stats but at least you know I appreciated the help.
