I recently purchased a branded (Orange) HTC TOUCH HD from EBAY (lol). Here's the peoblem, it came with version windows 6.1 and the phone is slow as hell. I tried to update to 6.5 from the official HTC website but for some reason it says that I cant...I need your help guys otherwise this phone is useless to me, here are my phone details, if you need more info pls contact me (also I am a newbie in the smatphone world ):
ROM Version: 1.1961.1WWE
RADIO Version: 1.09.25.14
CPU: Qualcomm (IR) 7201A

The factory Orange 6.1 ROM is actually not that bad...but if you want 6.5 then I can heartily recommend Cloudy 0.7 with CHT 1.8. You'll need HardSPL, Task29 and the ROM - all found in this subforum.

and I would like to change the language to English, I loged in to HTC e-club and I
only have the option of upgrading to Windows Mobile 6_Swedish.
Please I would really appreciate your help in providing me with HTC windows mobile 6 english
that would work on my PDA.
Specially that i Have tried like a dozen of Roms and non did work.

that way you caould have said HI to the friends that you deserted
cause i am sure that they can help you with your problem
and can even upgrade your phone to windows 6.5 in English

Apologies if this seems a basic question.
I know this is a place for experts but i've honestly checked for hours for an answer to this and cant find one. I've a second hand touch diamond which was bought on ebay. I dont know whether or not I need to update the ROM from the HTC website( as i've heard it improves certain aspects of it).
My present settings are as follows:
Rom Version: Duttys DiamV2.5 WWE
Rom date: 12/10/08
Radio version: 1.00.25.08
Protocol version 52.33a.25.17U
Its originally an orange phone (UK) and I'm using it in Ireland.

October 6th is when the update to 6.5 will be there for HTC Diamond, or near enough.
So my advice is to wait for the official release.
1. Install the SPL from my sig.
2. Install a 6.5 ROM from the ROM thread.
I just bought an HTC Tilt on eBay. I am pretty sure that the previous owner flashed the original ROM, the info I can find is listed below. I don't use much data, I am interested in running android on the phone. If I read other posts correctly, I have to run android on top of windows. I would prefer to hard flash the ROM if possible but if not, no problem. I have HardSPL and CidUnlocker from the "Flashing Your First Kaiser Rom" post by mskip.
I am looking essentially for a decent android OS I can play around with.
If I can hard flash the ROM I take it I will need to flash a new radio also is that right? Do I need a new radio if I just soft flash?
Any help you can provide will be appreciated

I'm using HTC TOUCH HD (orange). I bought this handset from Scotland it was locked with orange only but i Unlocked this handset with some code.
Now this handset works gr8 for me but still i can see some settings are map with orange only. I heard if i update with international English ROM then my problem will get solved.
Can anyone please help me out to get the correct ROM for my HTC TOUCH HD.
I'm using windows 6.1 in my handset I'll be ok if its 6.1 or 6.5.

If you're still using an Orange sim card the 'Orange Plus' app is on the card btw.
You could also try 1 of the custom roms if you want some cool new stuff on your phone. Take a look at the 'dummies guide to flashing 1.56 roms' for help with that.
