Navigation issues.

My navigation hasn't been working for a while.
I can get directions in maps and it sets a route ok. When I select navigate (either from app list or through maps) it hangs on 'getting driving directions'. I can see the data is active but then its not and the nav doesn't kick in.
What can I do to get it working as I use the feature (or used to) a fair bit?

That's useful thanks. But that isn't my problem. Gps fix is good on my handset. The problem is somewhere in the data transfer into the navigation app.

Actually I have the same problem. The phone is just saying getting route information, and then nothing happens. There is fine GPS connection, I can see my position on the map in the background, while its just stuck in the search. Could me very helpfully if someone have a explanation.

I need something that don't require root. I am running a non-rooted device.

But I would also like to hear about routing methods since I'm on cm 6.1.1
Any experience with working models?

I believe it'll work for the rooted, but not otherwise; you need some bluetooth tweaks to enable host mode.

Never loose GPS signal

There is app out there where it keeps your GPS locked at all time
free-gps.net tracker on the android market
[Note] it keeps GPS on at all time, and we all know that takes a lot of juice from the little box attached to the phone so only use if you want it.[Note]
Post comment to let me how it works for you.
PS. Use the recommended GPS settings in Lbstestmode

So why didn't you post this in Themes and Apps where it belongs?
My GPS signal is very tight. Not loose at all.

Moved to proper forum.
Another quick tip: You can use sgstools and under the gps settings (lbstest) you can test your gps and then back out of the app. This will allow your gps to run in the background...

Thether..

Has anyone figured out how to use a phone's data connection as a wifi connection for the Kindle. In this particular instance an iPhone.. Yes I know they suck and I want to get rid of mine, but in the mean time... I looked into it a little bit, my phone is jailbroken, and the only app I have come accross is PdaNet, which I guess uses adroid too. I just could not get it to work so thats why I am coming here. I am leaving for a long road trip from FL to NC in a couple of weeks and I thought it would be useful. Thanks in advance!!:good:
AW: Thether..
If you have an iphone 4 or later, you can use the personal Wlan hotspot feature.
If you have a 3gs you can only enable a personal bluetooth hotspot for a PAN.
If you have a rooted Kindle you can install the Bluetooth PAN app over the Play Store.

NFC music

When I try to use the NFC to "beam" (or whatever you would call it) to my sister who has a gs3 it sends her to to play store to buy the song instead of her just getting the song. Is there a way I could change this or is it just something the One does? Has anyone else experienced this? Sending everything else over NFC seems to work fine. I haven't tried doing it to any other phones so maybe its just a One to gs3 thing? Any help is appreciated

I have the HTC One and my brother has the Gs4. We use SuperBeam for everything nfc related and no problems. Try that from the play store

Nfc seems to only do small things. There's also a problem if the Samsung has s beam turned on.
Another thing to consider is that often it'll try sharing the app rather than the file.

I'd like to expand here that what these applications tend to do is use NFC to exchange bluetooth information and actually send the file using bluetooth. It's also possible that it can be done using ad-hoc wifi.
The more you know.
