[Q] Apps that are safe to uninstall after root ? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
today I have rooted my Galaxy S and I want to remove some of those default apps, is there a better list than this one:
http://samsunggalaxysforums.com/sho...ications-safe-to-uninstall-on-rooted-Galaxy-S
It seems too little because Ive had Xperia X10 till yesterday and dumped it because I got tired of waiting for Eclair etc and Xperia could remove much more apps than Galaxy S according to this list.
Tnx

Yes, there is a quite good topic about it here. Try to search (sorry, dont remember the name of thread - cant help you).
Or use Doc's ROM. Very good and removes crapware for you.

Tnx but I cannot find it. I really would like that someone writes the list here and make that post STICKY because we need those apps listed in a sticky thread coz everyone who roots his Galaxy will remove some of those preinstalled apps, and I mean EVERYONE. Admins, please consider this.
Tnx

I didn't.. In fact, I haven't even rooted my phone, because I realised that there was no real benefit for myself to do so..
Also, I think Launcherpro can now hide apps if you wish (reducing the need to root further)...

i'll try to post my list one of these days
i've removed aprox 20 apps from the Stock ROM using Titanium Backup after rooting

Fear's Android Custom Mods

Hi all! In this thread you can ask me to make any custom graphics you want for Android OS and it's programs.
Please post screenshots and point what you want to change, because sometimes it is difficult to understand what you are writing about.
I don't allow you to post my work on other sites (especially on 4pda.ru) or use it in your own mods.
And don't post your work in this thread. If you want to do this - ask my permission.
Mainly I'm going to make mods for Samsung Nexus S, but other devises are also welcome

EDIT: Done!
I'm after some help with my CPU settings. I'm running stock android 4.1.2 on a C6603. Build is 253.
I've got Rom Toolbox Lite and it has settings to tweak the kernel and CPU settings. I'm after some help as to what settings are the best when I want a decent combination of speed (I'm heavy on the ole Internet and gaming) and lasting battery life.
Any help or links would be much appreciated.
I am rooted but a noob at messing around with it.

To be honest, I have never used ROM Toolbox.
Infact for such apps, most "tweaks" give you a negligible performance benefit.
The only way to truly get a performance benefit is to play around with settings till you reach an optimum.
If you are truly after good kernel tweaks, take a look at Trickster Mod.
For battery savings, I recommend the use of Greenify.

If you are coming from an AMOLED display, then you might find that the Z's display is a bit under saturated.
But actually, the display is quite precise. There is nothing "wrong" with it.
All problems with viewing angles were solved in the subsequent updates.

You're welcome
First, I want to thank you for bringing this to the Sony Xperia Z forum as this would help alot of new and old XDA members. Its an great idea the QnA section is indeed a mess and I do understand that most moderators are busy with other things as well, this would definitely save them alot of time.
Second, You've got my support
mirroring
I can not mirror my Xperia Z with my LG TV, I recently installed the cyanogenmod and mirroring worked, but with the stock roms, does not work, can someone help?
I've recently rooted my Z with Doomlord's Easy rooting toolkit (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2327472). The root was successful and I had verified root access. But whenever I try to change system files like adding boot animation, editing fonts or even just simply change system files to RW, my phone will automatically force reboot itself. Please help!!!
Firmware:10.1.1A.1.253
Model:C6603

I'm using .423 but already tried with .434 and .253, but it's the same thing, I seek the tv, he thinks, and then the time to connect, it just disconnects before the image appears on TV, the strange thing is that in cyanogem worked perfectly.
Hi, since .423 update I got problem with background data. Restricting it for a period of time then removing it by tapping from notification or setting doesn't really remove the restrictions. Accessing play store gets pop up notification to enabled background data. Problem solved by reboot. Anyone experience this and know how to fix this? Thanks in advance. Sorry for bad english.

[Q] I need help with this international phone please

I got a brand new galaxy s4 phone from my girlfriend which she bought in China. The phone is cool. But after I started to use it, I realized the phone would not do anything with Google apps. I live in US and I need my apps, not all those apps from China which only give you Chinese references. I need help! I am brand new to this and I have no idea how to fix this problem. Thanks.

Well, this forum is for the S4 Active, not the S4, so first you have to go to the right forums.
Here's a link for you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2162
Then you check the threads there for information on rooting and fixing your problem.

Yes, I wish some of the ROM creators would publish the full list of exactly what they remove.
I also don't really know but can only guess that one way to debloat would be to root the device, then use TitaniumBackup to either freeze or wipe undesired apps and libraries off the system. Some might seem obvious but others might not, hence the usefulness of having a master list as a guide.
You can't just wipe everything by Samsung because some of the packages are used by other Samsung apps. Exactly which ones are not necessary would be nice to know.
Personally I would look for stuff like "music", "books", "videos", "newstand", "games", "weather" etc. stuff if you're never going to use from Google or Samsung. Kind of similar to what you delete from the Windows 8 Start Screen
One nice thing about TitaniumBackup is that you can freeze things before wiping them, to see if they really are necessary or not.
There's a helpful thread on the topic here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...-1-master-remove-debloat-freeze-list-t3409361
