I recently purchase the At&t S4 active and a pairs of Sennheiser MM-550X,
Those of you who don't know apt-x is codec for bluetooth to keep the sound quality as the original (really close to) source sound files,
in compare to normal Bluetooth which downgrade sound quality to near 120Kbps.
SGS4 active supposed to support this but on the web there's so little information about it,
So.. I want to know how can i confirm Mine got the Apt-x? from what I heard some android version Not support this..
Does Acid audio engine support this?
Is anyone tried?
Thanks!

Also interested, how to make sure that APT-X is working on new 4.4 Kitkat stock ROM? Thx!
Sorry for bumping this thread.
I would also like to know if there is a possible way of seeing if APT-x is active.
From my experience, I don't seem to hear any difference in quality between my S4 and iPad, but the iPad does not support APT-x.
The quality sounds terrible compared to a wired connection, loosing fine detail present in a 320kbps track. It also sounds compressed as well.
I have installed Music FX app for Snap Dragon Audio.
But its not showing in Music or Google Music Equalizers.
I have also installed Viper Both Apps for sound and also edited Xml file for Dolby Digital...
I want to know that which audio mode is the best?

My opinion ..... I like viper. When it comes to sound customization Viper has tons more options. Plus I use the Sony MDRXB50AP's. (SONY EXTREME BASS IN EAR EARBUDZ) And to get the full potential out of them bass wise, no other sound mod has come close creating the crisp highs and pounding bass like Viper. And its not just the Sony extreme bass that have benefited from Viper the way it does. The Apple earbuds really come alive too.
I have a 12" 8000 series MTX sub pushed by 800 true watts in my truck and the Sony earbudz with Viper sound like my trucks sound system in my ears. It really is incredible.
Long story short I recommend VIPER!
Oh hell yeah, those buds be big, but very crisp with head-shattering bass.
I use those, a set of highly customized (by me) Avantree Audiition when on the go.
At home I am rocking a Logitech Z-5500 (amp + power modded = 1700watts of kickassness)
Viper is THE audio mod, and its just that simple. Nothing even comes close, not even my tube amp + dedicated low/highpass filter (both worth maybe 400bucks) did before I sold it.
Yeah the next step after viper as far as audio software goes is getting into abelton or soundwave or wavelab. All computer based editing and production software.
Viper is hands down the authority on installable sound mods for android.
The old "BEATS driver" you used to could get from the play store that had to have root was pretty good back in the day. But Viper stepped on the scene and every other sound mod went home to regroup.
More likely they ran home crying to momma that a bigger kid kicked them off the playground. Viper is boss. Period.
Hi, I am really looking forward to buy this phone, one thing that I am doubtful of is that if I install a custom ROM will that mean loss of audio quality over headphones?
I am planning on pairing this up with ATH M50x which I already own, and would like to install a Cyanogen ROM on it, but not at the cost of audio quality. Thanks
Yo. I'm not gonna beat around the bush. Here's a sound mod I created when I was bored. It's based off a project I stopped long ago. Just give it a hear. Thanks.
Features:
DTS
Note 7 SoundAlive libraries
Google Pixel XL effects
HTC 10 effects
Huawei dynamic bass boost
Experimental Jack Professional Audio drivers
*Does not conflict with SoundAlive.*
Thanks to my friends @ ARISE
Anyways I wasted enough time, here's the download.

I may or may not even ever update this. Enjoy.
It can be controlled with an app? I mean.. is there something to adjust options?

Nope. Just flash. To confirm installation check /system/ or look into build.prop. Anyways, it's last day of school tomorrow, so goodnight.
@JarellLama and if i only want the note 7 soundalive libraries?
Sorry but the sound is terrible compared to what you can configure with viper/dolby audio and some other audio drivers... this would be a lot better if there was a way to tweak it somehow, sorry didn't mean to disrespect

I made this so it could work directly with Samsung's SoundAlive. With Dolby or V4A SoundAlive gets overwritten.
BTW feel free to flash V4A or/and Dolby over. I recommend the LeEco LeMax 2 Atmos from this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/soundmod-axon-7-dolby-atmos-t3412342

If you are looking for just Note 7 SoundAlive, I recommend you get a whole Note 7 port with the framework for Note 7's SoundAlive so you can use the latest SoundAlive app. I recommend Noble Rom.
