I ve installed pixel experience and the hifi dac option is nowhere to be found.
Is the hifi dac permanently on or is that feature not available on this rom ?
Wich roms have it available , if not this one ?

I recently purchase the At&t S4 active and a pairs of Sennheiser MM-550X,
Those of you who don't know apt-x is codec for bluetooth to keep the sound quality as the original (really close to) source sound files,
in compare to normal Bluetooth which downgrade sound quality to near 120Kbps.
SGS4 active supposed to support this but on the web there's so little information about it,
So.. I want to know how can i confirm Mine got the Apt-x? from what I heard some android version Not support this..
Does Acid audio engine support this?
Is anyone tried?
Thanks!

Also interested, how to make sure that APT-X is working on new 4.4 Kitkat stock ROM? Thx!
Sorry for bumping this thread.
I would also like to know if there is a possible way of seeing if APT-x is active.
From my experience, I don't seem to hear any difference in quality between my S4 and iPad, but the iPad does not support APT-x.
The quality sounds terrible compared to a wired connection, loosing fine detail present in a 320kbps track. It also sounds compressed as well.
Yo. I'm not gonna beat around the bush. Here's a sound mod I created when I was bored. It's based off a project I stopped long ago. Just give it a hear. Thanks.
Features:
DTS
Note 7 SoundAlive libraries
Google Pixel XL effects
HTC 10 effects
Huawei dynamic bass boost
Experimental Jack Professional Audio drivers
*Does not conflict with SoundAlive.*
Thanks to my friends @ ARISE
Anyways I wasted enough time, here's the download.

I may or may not even ever update this. Enjoy.
It can be controlled with an app? I mean.. is there something to adjust options?

Nope. Just flash. To confirm installation check /system/ or look into build.prop. Anyways, it's last day of school tomorrow, so goodnight.
@JarellLama and if i only want the note 7 soundalive libraries?
Sorry but the sound is terrible compared to what you can configure with viper/dolby audio and some other audio drivers... this would be a lot better if there was a way to tweak it somehow, sorry didn't mean to disrespect

I made this so it could work directly with Samsung's SoundAlive. With Dolby or V4A SoundAlive gets overwritten.
BTW feel free to flash V4A or/and Dolby over. I recommend the LeEco LeMax 2 Atmos from this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/soundmod-axon-7-dolby-atmos-t3412342

If you are looking for just Note 7 SoundAlive, I recommend you get a whole Note 7 port with the framework for Note 7's SoundAlive so you can use the latest SoundAlive app. I recommend Noble Rom.

Hi !
I've noticed that in most of custom roms for Mi Note Pro, DAC support for the dedicated sound card is lacking. The DAC seems pretty good and is even sold separately as USB DAC high fidelity playback device for $69 separately.
1. Could anyone guide me on routing audio through the DAC in custom roms, for example in Thor's custom ROM - Lineage OS 14.1 ? (Which I find to be an excellent ROM btw)
Or
2. If it's not possible within the already compiled roms/kernels, then what modules from(mi note pro's kernel source would have to added in a custom kernel for enabling use of this DAC ? I'll try to compile one myself then.
That's why I still sticking to MIUI 9 because of the DAC.
Nobody knows its a shame, try some chinese forums if you can conncect to them.
Hello! There's a way to install v4a on emui 9? I have root with magisk.
I am concerned myself, please help us, anyone

good luck here
Mate 10 ALP-L29 on EMUI 9's audio (from headphone jack) is one of the cleanest sounding outputs I've heard using my triple driver hybrid IEMs.
Sad that NO ONE is talking about it!

Absolutely right. I've used this device for a Year now and I really don't see a reason for some audio enhancement software, since the sound is just great anyhow I play it. I've listened my favorite tracks thru wired and bluetooth headsets, streamed over wifi and bluetooth dongles, and couldn't find anything less satisfying than my other phones. I have been using V4A and Dolby Atmos earlier on my Note, but I must say I really don't miss it at all.
Not trying to criticize, just posting my opinion.

Agree on audio through wired headphones!
However, in the car, i need a little bit of control with EQ and Soundstage / Reverb, and V4A provides those options. ATM, I'm using RE Equalizer and if only it's stable (enable / disable the switch to make it work), I don't feel the need for V4A
My. 6p was much louder with viper than mate 10 pro on aux. Can't agree it could be louder and more bass sound.
Hy there, i'm almost new here.
I can't have this information in all the web ( maybe bad search ) and even here till now.
Does anyone know if the Oppo find x3 pro has APTX ADAPTIVE enabled ?
I've seen that it has almost every aptx codec enabled but for the ADAPRIVE variant of the codec i doud just one source to claim it i don't know how secure it is.
Does anyoune can confirm it ?
Thanks to everybody.
