Just upgraded from the Blue Angel to Cingular's 8125 Wizard and I'm like a kid on his birthday. I especially like being able to initiate a phone call from my HS850 BT. Curious if someone has the registry settings to point to Microsoft Voice rather than Voice Dialer.
Thanks in advance!

goto "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand\Path". Change the default value from "\Windows\SDDialer.exe" to "\Program Files\Voice Command\VoiceCMD.exe".
Now you should be able to activate Micrsoft Voice Command by pressing the connect button on your bluetooth headset.
Thank you SO much! Works flawlessly. Curious if anyone prefers the Smart Dialer rather MS Voice? It works so nice, even though sometimes it sounds like it's on helium....
Thanks again!
Man I just love this Wizard!

VoiceCommand is much better! To complete your wizard you need to get TomTom navigator 5 with the bluetooth gps receiver.

Will this work on the T-mobile MDA? How do you edit the registry?

Thanks this worked great. I can even listen to music on my bluetooth headset now.
Hi guys.
Oh yes... I sure would love to use my BT headset as well!!
So I changed the default value for the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand\Path" from "\Windows\SDDialer.exe" to "\Programme\Voice Command\VoiceCMD.exe" (I am using a german device) but it doesnt work. Anybody got this trick working on a Qtek 9000?
Thanks in advance!

where can I get a really chaep copy of voice command?
I tried this too and I can't get it work right. The BT button doesn't call voicecommand consistantly, and when it does, the synth speech from VC doesn't come through via the BT headset. Meaning If I say "Call Tony" I won't be able to hear VC's reply of "on Mobile or Home". This is annoying. I'm using US T-mo MDA Vario. Perhaps the path or the name isn't consistant across the board?
As for the person who got music to play through BT: is it stereo? How did you make that work? Why does that has to do with VC?

Did you also run the Registry Wizard tweak "Enable Bluetooth Receive". This is what allows the headset to receive the incoming sound from the Pocket PC. Also on my phone I have to tap my Bluetooth headset twice, but it is consisitent, and I can tell the Voice Command beep from the other tone.
Hi guys.
Looks like you need the right Bluetooth profile for this hack.
I first tried it with my old Sony Headset (HBH-30) using a "Headset" profile. I could use it for regular phone calls, but I was unable to place a call using Microsoft Voice Command. After this, I tried a Plantronics Bluetooth headset ("M2500 Mobile Headset") and this one came up with a profile called "free speech mechanism" ("Freisprechen" on my german device). This profile works like a charm; I only have to press and hold the call-button for a moment and MS Voice Command comes up.
The only frustrating thing is that the device has to be in "pda mode" to place a call using voice command. If I fold up my Qtekk 9000, it doesn't work; but at least I can use the headset in the car now.
Hope this helps

On my Cingular 8125 I didn't create any BT profile for Motorolla HS850. Typically I press the button 1 or 3 times slowly then I hear the VC response. With the 2.8.7.102 ROM the VC sounded like Tiny Tim but with this 2.16.9.101 it sounds like it's susposed to.

Couple of questions about voice-dialing in WM5.
I purchased MS Voice Command 1.5 and loved it on 2003SE, but:
1) Does it work with the latest WM5 ROMs?
2) Is there a way to initiate a command from a BT headset?
Not concerning MS VC:
3) What other options are available, and what are the best?
Thanks!
1. At the moment MS Voice Command 1.5 does not work in the new WM5 AKU ROMs (at least it didn't last time I tried!!)
Once you install the app it runs once then states there's been an error and refuses to run again!
2. Within WM2003SE if you have the A2DP profile set with your headset (assuming it's stereo?) then you can initiate a call/command via BT, I used it quite a bit...
3. Alternatives are the following:
Cyberon Voice Dialler (I don't like this as you have to record all the voice tags as there is no speech recognition engine.
VITO Voice2Go/VITO VoiceDialler (I liked this in its previous incarnation but haven't tried the new version with 2K3 or WM5)
If you search the forum for Voice Command you'll find plenty of threads about getting these apps working, and working with BT...
Thanks for the response. I'll search the forums and see if there is anything else that I can find.
FYI, I just have a headset that supports handsfree (Jabra JX 10).
I love cyberion voice commander just becaues it doesn't make all the voicetags itself. I think this is why the device is called a pda with the P for Personal, everyone his/her own opinion.
Since english is not my native language and voicecommander always want to make it sound as english it's not good for me.
And suggsjc i love your signature "If the world didn't suck, we would all fall off..." . I borrowed it several times now to friends of mine, interpreting it as a positive thought
Well I guess to each their own. I (P)ersonally liked it having all of the tags created for me. I could find a contact that I rarely used (and wouldn't have created a tag for) with just using voice commands. But having the choice is a good thing.
Despite the glitches with some software in WM5, overall I am very pleased. Much nicer and more refined than 2003SE.
Glad to hear that my sig is popular
Has anyone been able to get the new release of Microsoft Voice Command (version 1.6) to work with any AKU 3.2 ROMs?
.........................................
I can also now confirm it seems to work flawlessly with Faria's AKU 3.2 12MB version.
Bluetooth also finally works like it should with my Motorola H700. No need for adjustments or registry changes. Just installed and it has worked flawlessly....so far.

Worked for me initially with Faria's 8Mb -- until about an hour later, when the whole thing locked up. Suspect one app too many.
works flawless for me to! love the 3.2 rom!
I agree, works flawlessly with Faria's 3.2 including BT! With the AKU 2.3 ROM's I have to install my lil BT cabs... no big deal. 3.2's BT is much improved over 2.3 for sure....
hmm now my ringtone is sometimes blasting in my ear when I get a call...I hate this. just starting doing it! anyone else experience this?

If I'm not mistaken that is exactly what is suppose to happen (well, not necessarily the blasting part). It just hasn't been working correctly until now.
These items are known to be able to be edited through the registry (there may be more):
1. BT mic volume
2. BT speaker volume
3. Phone mic volume (normal mic)
4. Phone stereo speaker volume (speakerphone, ringtones, mp3's, voice command, etc.)
5. Phone mono speaker volume (normal in-call, between the status LED's)
6. Handsfree mic volume (wired)
7. Handsfree stereo speaker volume (ringtones, mp3's, etc.; wired)
8. Handsfree mono speaker volume (normal in-call; wired)
Registry location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > HTC >
AUDIOGAIN
AUDIOGAIN0
AUDIOGAIN1
AUDIOGAIN2
VOICESETTING
VOICESETTING0
VOICESETTING1
VOICESETTING2
What we really need is a someone who has more knowledge than I who can right a program to allow us to adjust all the volume settings without having to manually go in and edit the registry every time.

Yeah, sure was nice to see that 1.6 was compatible with the AKU3.2 roms as I use it almost exclusively to dial out. That it reads incoming email is a nice touch, too.
I noticed that in the Diamond forum Dutty has embedded MSVC 1.6.19971 into his ROM.
Any ideas where I can find the installation CAB for this?

I'm using MSVC_US_PPC_1.6.19214 which is working fine. You can find this in one of the threads in Kaiser but I believe it was taken down for an unknown reason (the thread still exists but the first 5 message and topic title was deleted). The title was something like "The Definitive Guide to MSVC". You can still get it in google cache though

We removed the MSVC cab because it is a retail sold program, YES it was put into some official ROMs but after a LONG debate we decided to not allow it in cooked ROMs etc... just such a grey area we didnt want M$ finding another reason to have a go at xda-devs.
i had a feeling it will be taken out eventually, curiously though i was thinking why the guy was banned
MS Voice Command 1.6 German
Hello Guys ...
I read much about MS VC 1.6 cause Cyberon Voice Speed Dial
doesn´t work well in German - and would like to test it now.

Have you read post #3? MSVC is a retail sold program, if you want it please buy it.
Hey guys, on my fuze with the at&t rom, MSVC was included, now that i've upgraded to romeos rom and it's not included on his rom! i know that you guys are saying its a pay program, but i paid for it when i bought the fuze (as its included in the price).... and i really dont wanna pay for it again...
Does MSVC integrate and work with the fuze over bluetooth? I know that it needed several mods to work with both the 8525 and the Tilt.
Thanks
it worked perfectly with the at&t rom without any mods at all. and actually after i posted, i realized that i still had the copy that i had download from this site for my tilt. i installed it and it works perfectly once again

Does it announce incoming calls over the bluetooth headset? I can't get it to do that. My Tilt did it just fine and I have the Fuze VC set up exactly the same way as my Tilt, but all I get is my ringtone and no announcement.
Any ideas?

I'm sure this is a dumb question but did you double-check the settings? (Start -> Settings -> Personal -> Voice Command -> [Highlight Phone] -> Options -> Announce Incoming calls) and (Start -> Settings -> Personal -> Voice Command -> Notifications Button)

Yes. I wish it were that easy. As I said, all parameters are set up exactly like my Tilt which worked perfectly. With the Fuze, I only get my ringtone. Now, I know that the Fuze has a newer version of VC, so I may try to downgrade to the version that is on my Tilt.

I'm wondering the same thing. Stock Fuze had MSVC, and I flashed to the Elite ROM, and would like MSVC back. Is there any way to flash my Fuze back to stock rom, and pull the cab file out of it??
Unless you can tell me otherwise, the one that comes with the FUZE is defective. Partly... A few of us can't get it to say the incoming caller name or number. All you hear is a bell sound. I've gotten everything else to work like dialing from the headset, even where it says I have an appointment on my BT headset. Just for the announcement of whos calling doesnt work.
Do you have to have the handsset connect to juse VOice C`?
I pulled VC 1.6.19971 out of the AT&T Fuze ROM and included it in my personal ROM and I was able to enable "Announce incoming calls".
On my Nokia BH-501 headset, it begins to announce the call, but gets cut off by the built in headset ringtone. (I only use this stereo headset for music)
On my Oakley Razrwire it works just fine. With 'announce' turned off, the headset uses it's normal built-in ringtone. With 'announce' turned on, I get the VM announcement with my WM ringtone playing in the background (it opens an audio stream from the phone). I use this headset while driving, so it's all good.
Well well... depends on your MSVC-version. 1.6.4622 DOES NOT announce any incoming call regardless of the setting.
1.6.17913 does, 19209, 19213, 19214 does...
By the way: the ultimate FAQ was named The Definitive Guide for Microsoft Voice Command - I posted a backup in another thread.
anyhow, does anyone know the advantages of 1.6.19971 ? Does it report anonymous callers correctly (which none of the above does?)
And why is it that anyone wants to use newer versions without even knowing changes? Maybe it's a beta version, maybe it's buggy... but it's a newer release... using legal german retail (bought it) .4622 with 19209 exe for announcing reasons. Works brilliant on raphael.
But maybe someone knows a list of changes or fixes, advantages or disadvantages in 19971?

MSVC in Dutch?
Hello all:
Is MSVC available in the Dutch language? Its kind of weird hearing my Dutch contacts' names pronounced in English. Funny, but still weird...
Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7' whit Froyo, recently I have update to Android 2.3 whit samsung Kies.
And I have found some interesing update, but some problems to.
Normaly I use my Galaxy TAB whit "Sony DR-BT101" that have all the button I need. But after the update the application Cyberion Voice Commander dont start whit the push of the Phone in the "Sony DR-BT101" headphone.
If I hold the button for call in the "Sony DR-BT101" Galaxy Tab try to call the last number and that's all.
My Question is:
Exist some register like regedit for windows or something that I can modify for have all my button of "Sony DR-BT101" work properly?
That headphone cost a lot and use like simple headphone it's a shame.
TNX
Try these(got from AppBrain description),
1. Make sure that the platform of your phone is Android 2.2 (Froyo) or above, and your headset supports Bluetooth handsfree profile.(Already done)
2. Don't install the application on SD. Cyberon Voice Commander doesn't support APP2SD so far.
3. Restart your phone after installing Cyberon Voice Commander.
4. Re-pair BT headset and phone after installing Cyberon Voice Commander, if they have been paired.
I try, but seems doesn't work
TNX anyway
I solve it! I use a trick, I have install more than 1 program for the same use and than press the button, when the tablet ask me which one I want use I chose the one i prefer and that it.
