Hi all,
Sorry for the noob question but I have looked in my SGS under settings > phone information and I see things like my IMEI, etc but nothing showing as the "Product Code".
I have never flashed a new firmware that was not official to Bell Mobility and Canada but I have done the registry hack to reflash JH2 so I could fix my missing 3 button recovery in the past. Should this have changed my product code?
Please advise how I can see it...
Thanks...
this is the correct product code for the I9000M
"ProductCode"="GT-I9000HKABMC"
Thank You but where do I look in my phone to see it? I cant find it anywhere?
it's in the registry
meanwhile on this topic...
can some one confirm the product codes for the other models?
Thanks

Ok... So... How do I see it? Do I need to be rooted to see? Can I find this on my phone or do I have to look from a computer?
Please dont be quite so vague... Remember... Im a bit of a noob... LOL!!!
I am not sure if this is a way to check, but you could give it a try.
Open your "Phone Dialer" and type in *#1234#.
What do you see after CSC?

I see I9000BMCJH2
I dont believe that this is it but I could be wrong... Anyone else have any info on this?
So your product code seems to be BMC, which is a canadian product code according to the samsung letter codes.
Productcode = BMC.
i'm using SGS toolbox to show my product code but i don't know which one to read.
it says:
Copied nv_data files...
product code in nv_data.bin:
I900HKAKOR
then it also says
Product code in backup.nv_data.bak:
I9000HKAOPS
my question is whats wrong with KOR and why do people want to avoid it? and also which one am i suppose to read what says the one i have? and if i have KOR how do i change it to OPS?
sorry for being a noob, thanks in advance
edit: nvm

Hi,
I'm flashing to I9000XWJM8 (European Rom) and I don't know what CSC I should pick. I saw this list:
CSC_I9000BMCJH2.rar
CSC_I9000DBTJM1.rar
CSC_I9000HUIHUI.rar
CSC_I9000OLBJG4.rar
CSC_I9000OPSJG1.rar
CSC_I9000OXAJM1.rar
CSC_I9000OXEJM1.rar
CSC_I9000OXXJM1.rar
CSC_I9000TMNJM1.rar
CSC_I9000XEEJM1.rar
on you filesharing server (https://www.wuala.com/Samsung Galax...JM7, XWJM8, XWJM9 and BOJI1/?key=AfzUZSU4SpKU)
My current firmware is:
PDA: I9000XWJM2
Phone: I9000XXJM1
CSC: I9000NEEJM1
I am flashing my firmware via Odin and I've chosen the following files:
PDA = CODE_I9000XWJM8.tar.md5
PHONE = MODEM_I9000XXJM4.tar.md5
.PIT = s1_odin_20100512
CSC = ???
I am aiming for the Tayutama Edition for my phone, so any comments on my chosen firmware is much appriciated aswell.
Thanks!
I just read this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=780867&highlight=CSC+choice
Which says that I should pick the "CSC_I9000XEEJM1.rar" one since I am from Denmark and the post states that it is for nordic countries.
So should this be my choice or are there alternatives for nordic countries? If there are, which ones and what is the difference?
Any1 got any comments ??
JohnTheOne, please use the infamous "edit" option for posts, instead of triple posting...
EEJM1 is the same as the one you are using now. It will work fine. Technically you don't even need to flash the csc but do it anyway just to be thorough.
Don't forget to do a factory rest after flashing

maybe one of this, but the CSC must be for a specific region. PDA and PHONE match yours.
cheers

Hi guys.
galaxy s fascinated
PDA:JP5 PHONE:JPP CSC:JP3 (EUR)
I've a problem. when i updated to froyo from eclair i've used "kies registry patcher" and i've changed csc to jp3 (eur), i suppose, i not remember exactly what i've done..
Now, when i try to update to 2.2.1 , no update is available for my galaxy.
What can i do?
thanks everyone
Ale.
You changed product code ??
Changed CSC
Kies does not know what your phone is .
Its not got the details that match the firmware for that brand of phone .
Kies only reads phone product hardware and firmware id .
Looking for a match to its database none found .
OR for the product code etc you are showing Kies there is no update .

Try SpoofFw on market. I released it today and it will let you change the info that kies reads now when registry patcher don't work.
Let me know if it works out for you.

Kinda the same you did before?
Download Kies registry patcher for Kies 2.0 and spoof what you want in Kies 2.0 and check for an update?
Btw before you do that , read all the "warning, important" and backup efs and etc you know the drill

If you want to change your Product Code you can use this code *#272*imei#* but this will wipe all your data
Install new firmware via clock work mod. forget about that keis junk.

Hello,
To begin with I read the "Samsung letter codes to check firmware compatibility" and still need to ask this question in order not to do anything wrong.
My phone is a Galaxy S GT-I9000 (PDA : JPF - Phone : JPD - CSC : JPF (mid)
) it's on froyo 2.2 and I got fed up with this lagy/hangy version .
Could you please advise what is the best version of Gingerbread compatible with my phone ?
Thanks in advance for your advice.

i think it has something to do with your location,I also have I8190NXXALL6 as my baseband version and I live in the UK.
I also have the stock rooted ROM for I8190NXXALL6 if you need it.
