Guys,
I'm on I9000XWJM1, just notice yesterday that my FB (Contact and Calendar) and Twitter sync is no longer working on SGS.
Error is "authentication failed"
I tried remove and add back the account via
Contact > Get Friends > Add Account > Facebook
Contact > Get Friends > Add Account > Twitter
but I get "Login failed. Try later"
anyone experience the same issue?
Nothing problems on my SGS

Same problem, only for My Space and Facebook. After this error I've add an Titter account and no errors. But can't add an Facebook or My Space account. I reinstalled another firmware, JM1, JPK but the same problem.
Same issue for me, restored to jm1 and doesnt work, this only started happening to me yesterday, i wonder if there is an issue at facebook or maybe with android?
Same here after flashed voodoo lag fix + reset to factory.

Clearly Samsung Galaxy S problem, none of MySpace, Facebook or Tweeter accounts doesn't work. When only MySpace and FaceBook accounts didn't work I've added a Tweeter account and it was ok. But after reflashing (thinked this will solve the problem), also Tweeter account didn't work anymore. Very frustrating. It's something related to SNSaccounts Service.
The same here.
Having the same problem here on my JPK, only started having the issue yesterday, reflashed today with JM1 but didnt fix it so flashed back to JPK. Can't sync any FB contacts into my contacts list. Says 'Login faild. Try later'
Also unable to receive any notifications through facebook for android.

Flashing a new firmware or upgrading through Kies never does a clean install. I was so frustrated that I've rooted my phone, entered system/app and deleted accountsync app and odex (first two files, don't remember exactly the names) and Snsaccount and Snsprovider apks and odexes. Contacts icon dissapeared and when I was accessing contacts through dialer always FC. Update to JM1 again through Kies and everything is ok now, SNS accounts works again.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
im using still the same fw, and i can confirm that it works again. No change, but now working again.

Does anyone know how to solve it without deleting apks and flashing firmwares? I can't find any good information anywhere on this annoying issue.
On Doc JPO7.6.2, having this same issue as well... aiks...
google, seach, no solution yet.
Found this....
1. Log in to the desktop version of Facebook/Twitter/whatever the problem app is
2. Go to the application settings (Facebook: Account>Application Settings; Twitter: Settings>Connections)
3. Remove or Revoke the Samsung Mobile option from this list
4. Wait a couple of minutes, then try adding the account on your phone
let me know if it works...
mine still not working.. mayb need to wait longer...
What am I suposed to do?
Hi, everybody, my SGS has the same problem, but only related to the Orkut sync (Orkut is a social network from google, very popular in Brazil). I tried several ways to solve this problem, like wipe the phone and upgrade the rom with Odin (with re-partition e bootloader reinstall, using several roms, froyo and eclair) and nothing worked until I use a new orkut(google) account, and it worked, but now, suddenly (in fact, after I tried to root with z4root, but I instaled a new rom already, with re-partition) stops to sync, and the same message is displayed.
What am I suposed to do?
I'll try.

I tried, but still not working.
Hello everyone,
I flashed to Pheonix 4.1 last night from 3.0, previously 2.5. I had 4.03 on only for a few days and then Adam released 4.1 so I made the jump to it [image attached]. The trouble I am having with the lastest build is that email no longer functions properly. I have 2 pop accounts and one Exchange account configured and none will allow me to compose a new email message. I can touch the "compose" button but a new message window never appears. I also cannot reply or forward any email I have received, and yes all account do receive mail properly [image attached].
When attempting to reply or forward, I feel the haptic feedback buzz, a pause for about 2-3 seconds, then a force close [image attached].
Anyone have a thought what may have gone wrong for this to happen?
I'm having a very similar issue with email on Paragon v 3.0....All the email meesages in my inbox appear blank, and the program is very buggy overall....so obviously not useable. I would love to know if there is a fix of some sort, because I love the ROM
you could always pull the email.apk from a different ROM that worked, and place it in the system/app folder on the phone. see if that helps...
I'll give that a try.
Flashed Pheonix 4.1, it's fast but email isn't working - SOLVED!
I checked the file details and the Email.apk was the same back to the 3.0 ROM, maybe even futher but I didn't check beyond that. In stead of replacing it with the exact same data, I decided to remove one of my POP accounts and add it back manually because they had been restored via Titanium Backup. This step corrected the issue so there must have been some form of corruption in a config file from the restore. Good news is, this problem is resolved for me. Now I am looking into an unstable bluetooth connection to my car radio....

hmmmm any ideas if you don't have a titanium backup from the pre-ROM period? I just have a nandroid backup
Sorry, but I didn't work with nandriod backup. I rooted and went straight to a TiBu solution.
I'm in Canada, on Bell. using the baseband version i9000UGJL2. Its not rooted or anything.
it started yesterday, but I can't connect to twitter, through apps, or even through the web browser. It will work if I have the phone on Wifi, but it won't work on 3G/HSPA. All other apps and websites work fine.
There's appearantly a new firmware out, but Kies won't let me update to it. I tried using the registry editor to force the update, but when the process starts, it stops and says its not available for my firmware version.
I had to use Kies (older version back around the new year) & the 1.7 reg editor to force update to froyo. Is there anything else I can do with what I've got? Or do I need to look into rooting it? I'm kind of new to all this, so any help would be appreciated. TIA
What new firmware ??
Most likely a Twitter/ your Twitter account /settings problem as its both an app and web problem .
Rooting will not help that's only gaining administrator rights over your phone .

Hi,
we have a new SGS (everything stock from T-Mobile, i think it is JPY). I tried to connect the phone with out Exchange 2003 server without success.
There comes a message that i have to accept a Samsung EULA. If i do this, the connection fails.
On my own phone (private with Darky ROM RC6) i had not such problems. There is also no Samsung EULA.
Has anybody a idea?
kind regards
srkonus
I just flashed 15 Samsung Galaxys for a customer. Stock JPO(2.0, most *new* phones have that as stock) wont work with Active Sync for some reason (same problem pattern like you have), however, JPY (2.2.1) should work flawless.
Check it by typing *#1234# into the dialpad. It should tell you, what version you have.
Thanks for your answer. I hope to get the phone back on monday and then i will have a look.
You can also use SG2 Email.apk
delete original email.apk with SGS tools.
download new one, install it.
Then use root explorer and move the installed E-mail.apk from data/app to system/app.
restart the phone.
Finished
Hi fomax,
thanks for your answer. Rooting and changing apk files is no opinion.
I've been having an issue with WhatsApp and I'm wondering if everyone who uses it also has the same issue I'm experiencing. I've emailed WhatsApp on a separate issue before, and they always say that it must be MY version of the i9000 (i9000m) as they are not experiencing that issue on theirs.
So I thought I'd direct them to a thread to show them its not just the i9000m's but others as well.
So for all those who have WhatsApp installed, please test this out for me and tell me if you experience the same problem. For arguments sake please put your firmware version as well. Mine is the stock KG3 on Bell Mobility.
Issue 1
1. From a chat window (one you have with your friends), send them one of your contacts. To do this, click the paper clip at the top right and choose the far right selection (the contact card).
2. Select one of your contacts that has both a phone number and an email address.
3. A list of all the contacts for that single contact should appear... hit send.
4. Now in the chat window, a button should appear with that contacts name.
5. Click that button.
6. The list should appear again. Click the Call Mobile or whatever type of number you have.
Does your phone hang then after a little while you get the
"Sorry! The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpected. Please try again?" Force close appear?
Second Issue
Using the same method above, click an email in step 6. Does your email app open with something similar to "[email protected]" in the To: appear?
----
Please let me know. I'd like to get this fixed... or if its not their issue, I'd like to fix my phone somehow.
Thanks
No one has the same issue?
After doing some of my own testing:
I had a KG3 Root Kernel installed, so I was wondering if that was causing the issue.
In order to ensure I have a complete stock KG3 (2.3.3), reinstalled JL2 via ODIN so I could upgrade to KG3 via KIES.
After installing JL2, I decided to test the problem in WhatsApp. Low and behold, the issue wasn't there. But, JL2 is froyo... so maybe its a Gingerbread problem. Or more specifically KG3.
I won't know for sure until KG3 is once again installed to its complete stock condition via KIES (Downloading now).
I'll report back. If the issue is gone, then it could be one of three things:
1. Root Kernel
2. Super User
3. Busybox.
I'll report back once I figure it out.
Well it appears to be an issue with KG3. I'm completely stock now and still have the same issue in the original post.
Can any other Gingerbread users running 2.3.3 or 2.3.4 confirm the same issue please?
