Ok, hearing about the possibility of burn in on the screen of my brand new phone broke my heart. But it doesn't have to be that way. I usually have either Beautiful Widgets or Weather Widgets on my home screen so I don't need to have another clock in the status bar. So I removed it. (The burn in that has been reported to be from the AM/PM.
OK, now for a couple pre-requisites:
Obviously you must be rooted.
Download Metamorph from the market.
Please have Clockwork recovery installed and a backup made.
You MUST BE deodexed first. You will boot loop or worse if you are not. Here is a link (credit Frostman89) to download a deodexed update.zip for your phone. Please, read this.
Download the file and put in on your sdcard in the AndroidThemes folder.
Open metamorph and select unzip new theme.
Click on services.jar when that is done extracting, and it will ask you to reboot when it's done.
Be very very patient, it will likely take a long time to reboot. This might also include seeing the lockscreen for a second and continuing back at the bootanimation once. (It did for me)
After that, enjoy your new clock!!! err, lack of clock!
As usual I am not responsible for what you do to your phone, all releases are tested but there are multiple configurations that can give you problems. You are applying this at your own risk, I may help you if you have problems but don't blame me if you brick your device. Thanks

Metamorph to bring back the clock
could just enable 24-hour format that's what I did =p

Or you could just remove it that's what I did.
Seriously, I knew how to do it so figured I'd give people the option. Not every one likes the same thing.
I wish there was just a way to remove the am/pm without having the twenty four hour clock, but as far as I know there isn't. Most of the time...except saturdays and early sunday morning I know what side if the day I'm on.

I will work on removing the am/pm.
Would it be easy to remove the clock totally from a stock rom with root. I don't like Deodexed, but I hate having the clock up there. Good work though.

xUltimate is what I used in the past. It worked to deodex so may work to remove clock too..

Awesome! Thank you for this! And thank you for the detailed instructions, esp regarding having to be deodexed.
This is exactly what I was going to request for the exact reason.
One question... would I be able to apply the accurate battery back on top of this, or does another theme have to be made?
You can apply the battery mod and any themes as long as they don't replace the services.jar. I have both working right now.

I have been working on a lock screen that I will be submitting to CyanogenMod upon finishing but wanted to let you guys check it out and give me some feedback. It is in very early stages of development but so far it works and I must admit, it's pretty cool.
The lock screen widget that I made is inspired by the honeycomb lock screen. The idea is simple: there is a small circle inside a larger circle, and when you drag the small circle to the outer circle it triggers an action (i.e. unlock, sound off, custom app.)
What works so far:
As you can see in the screenshots the outer circle has been separated into two "arcs." The arc on the right triggers a screen unlock, and the arc on the left triggers sound on/off.
Yes, I know the widget covers up the time/date text but that can easily be moved around. I will worry about that later. Right now I am focusing on functionality.
What's to come:
Soon I will be adding a third arc for custom applications. I may add two more arcs which may be customizable. So, if you choose, you can have 2, 3, or 4 arcs that each trigger a different action.
Now for the fun part..
If you want to install this and try it out (and I would really appreciate if you did)
EDIT: I botched the flashable zip. Attached a zip with framework folder. Extract, do this:
Code:
adb shell stop
adb remount
adb push /path/to/framework/ /system/framework
adb shell reboot
Note: this framework was built with an old source (3 or 4 days old). I can almost guarantee it will cause some apps to force close and possibly display some weird icons here and there. Source is being synced now. If you want to try, backup your framework.
To backup,
Code:
adb pull /system/framework/ /path/to/backup/folder
Restore,
Code:
adb push /path/to/backup/folder /system/framework/
Enjoy and please lend me some feedback!
I don't see the flashable zip? Thanks a lot for this, its awesome. Now we just gotta get the circle smaller and the colors right and it will be great thanks!

I have taken the EE03 Stock Framework and 1% battery modded it. For now NO reboot mod. The framework is much different and so the old method doesn't appear to work.
This is ONLY a THEME. NOT a ROM...
Fixes:
1) Replaced the SDCard Preparing Icon in the Mediaprovider.apk so it matches the framework.
2) Fixed the 4G icons so they are "true" gingerbread (from the Nexus s 4G).
Added:
AOSP Lockscreen: Thanks to p3dr0maz
Also added the "no CIQ" fix: Thanks to k0nane
Changed default wallpaper to reflect Autism Awareness (feel free to change it...if you can live with yourself afterwards )
Credit goes to smaberg for the actual battery images. I simply ported them over
Both themes are the same (Stock Gingerbread). Just click battery icon to download the theme you would like.

As apposed to what? You can't just get the battery icon as it's part of the framework. The only other changes were actual fixes. This now has the actual gingerbread 4G icon instead of the crappy sprint on and I made the sdcard icon match.
You can remove the AOSP lockscreen or simply flash the TW lockscreen back...and who really want's the carrier IQ on their phone?
The wallpaper can be changed as well by simply selecting a new wallpaper.
If your more specific maybe I can help
I've been romming for 2 years, since I first got my hero (ahh, memories). But i've never themed. I'm probably one of the few who likes the look and feel of touchwiz. I want the aosp lockscreen though and the battery mod.
1. How do I apply this, is it just a flash?
2. Will I still keep the touchwiz laucher afterwards?

Yes you will keep the TW Launcher.
Edit: ptfdmedic beat me to it.
ptfdmedic,
Any chance when you get time in your busy day to do the same mods except on the CRT animation version?
I've already added AOSP, so there was no need to do it again. The stock image isn't available in the gallery and I happen to like it. If I flash your pack with the Autism Awareness background, i can't restore it. I'm not in a 4g area, so i didn't care about the 4g Icon, and since the SD icon only appears for a few seconds I didn't much care for that as well. They're probably holdouts and will be changed before the final release anyway, so didn't see much of a need to change them.
Hence, the only thing in this that I need/want is the battery icon mod. That's why i asked for it alone.
Where's the links at?

Thanks, I really appreciate the port of this nice theme.
However, there are some minor issues, notably the Xoom reboots right away when pushing the on/off button. There is no pop up menu with an option of turning the unit off. Not a big deal though, as Tiamat included the Quick Boot app with the latest ROM.
I also have the stock blue analogue clock and not the green thine one shown in the screen shot.
But, as I said not a biggie, looks great.
Thanks again,
arc
that happened to me as well, only one time though. every time after that it cam up normal, just without recovery option, is yours doing this repeatedly?
Yes for me it happens every time. But as I can use the Quick Boot app, it's sort of a non-issue anyway. It could possibly have something to do with if you were modded or not.
Thanks again,

Same is happening for me, Tiamat 1.1 with Mod Pack 1 installed. I don't really care as I don't use the analog clock. I ran a backup, but doubt I'll bother with doing a restore as I never power down either. I like the green here and there, and love the lock screen
Should be a dib update tonight or tomorrow, look for it, think you guys will enjoy
will do draw9s tomorrow, and finish the gmail contacts and Calender, also going to put USB mass storage themed on next update, will try to incorporate mod pack one, have to see how that goes
Thanks MitchTank, I welcome the effort.
Btw, I realized there are two different clockwidgets the stock blue and the Honeybread green.
OP can you link your Circle Launcher icons in the first post? If not, my email is [email protected]. Thanks in advanced.
That's really all that I want, I don't really care about an entire theme.
Is there an easy way to get notifications like these, or is there a theme that is already like this that I can flash?
Thanks!
I'm working on one for you, been awhile since I've done this though so no promises.

Have you checked out the UOT Kitchen over in the Android themes section of there forums? You can do alot of different things. Search for UOT Kitchen. I would enter the link, but I'm on my phone.
Edit: Here is the link for the UOT Kitchen : Uot
Go to that link, click Kitchen, Pick the choices of what you would like modded, when you are finished, click the File Upload tab, where it says Select your rom from the kitchen list choose system files. Enter you framework and system.ui where it asks you to. When your done go to summary, and and choose Submit files to kitchen and go to files pickup area. Anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour and your flashable zip will pop up. Put on your sd card and flash. It sounds complicated, but after you do it once or twice its really cool.
Hopefully that helps a little. If not, sorry I wasted your time. Have a good night.

Are you referring to the notification bar where the clock and battery icons are? If so, its the statusbar_background.png in the Systemui.apk
Sent from my super sleek NS4G, powered by TeamNekkid.
If your referring to the notifications in the statusbar you can theme it easily with ZipThemer
Create a folder structure like so
Mms>res>drawable-hdpi
In the drawable-hdpi folder put the icons you want. The names ( I thik) are stat_notify_sms and stat_notify_mms. A good size is 38x38 pixels
Then go back to the main Mms folder and create a ZipThemer xml with the path set to Mms.apk
Edit: I made a ZipThemer xml and file structure for you. Just extract the zip, goto Mms> res> drawable-hdpi and put those two images in there then apply with ZipThemer
Remember if you use ZipThemer for the first time, goto the apps settings and select update edify
Here's the zip I made

Hey everyone,
first off, my apologies for replying so late. I've been busy with some ****, but finally got around to flashing the Theme I made in the UOT Kitchen.
It's looking pretty damn good to me. I was able to make the notifications black, and changed the notification bar itself a bit as well. I'm very pleased with the look so far, but as was stated in this thread, the whole process was extremely easy. Maybe the hardest part was waiting for the damn thing to be ready for download...lol
I'd post some screenshots of the notification bar, but with ShootMe not working anymore and since the Screenshot system that's built into CM exits out of the notification bar whenever I want to use it, I won't be able to provide you guys with any for now.
If anyone wants to try out the theme, I've attempted to attach it to this post.
Thank you all for your help!
There is a slight delay from the time you tap screenshot to the time it actually takes it.
I've scrapped my original idea, started over, and have been adding parts of ICS from around XDA to the OpenZio framework. This is a work in progress and this thread will be updated as the theme progresses.
Download - http://db.tt/VYTpvjmD
Installation instructions
1. Download the flash-able zip from the link above.
2. Shutdown your M6000 Zio.
3. Press the power button then quickly hold both the power and call buttons until fastboot appears on your screen.
4. Using the Android SDK use the fastboot boot [image name here] command to boot the recovery image.
5. It is highly recommended that you perform a backup of your current system before flashing this!
6. Install zip from SD card and select this theme.
7. Not really necessary but wipe dalvik-cache before rebooting.
8. Reboot and wait a few minutes for the system to start up.
9. Enjoy the theme, there will be more updates coming soon!

I moved on to the Cricket Indulge but I still have my ZIO to play around with so I thought I give your theme a try. I assume that this is an openZIO theme and will not work over a stock ZIO. You might want to clarify this for all the noobs around here.
I really like what you have done with the notification drop down. The text for the battery and 3G indicators are too small for my aging eyes, but some will like it. The ICS keyboard is a is a nice touch, way better than stock.
If any openZIO users are looking for a fresh look they should give this theme a try. Looks like you are off to a good start I have noticed no other flaws other than the grey text on the black menu and you have already pointed that out.
Keep up the good work Mattix.

The only changes in the framework so far is the png's for the theme.
I'll be working on updates and if you want I can drop a metamorph file for rooted users to try on other devices, I just have to be careful of which parts I can add to the morph so there isn't any boot loops.
