I have been working on a lock screen that I will be submitting to CyanogenMod upon finishing but wanted to let you guys check it out and give me some feedback. It is in very early stages of development but so far it works and I must admit, it's pretty cool.
The lock screen widget that I made is inspired by the honeycomb lock screen. The idea is simple: there is a small circle inside a larger circle, and when you drag the small circle to the outer circle it triggers an action (i.e. unlock, sound off, custom app.)
What works so far:
As you can see in the screenshots the outer circle has been separated into two "arcs." The arc on the right triggers a screen unlock, and the arc on the left triggers sound on/off.
Yes, I know the widget covers up the time/date text but that can easily be moved around. I will worry about that later. Right now I am focusing on functionality.
What's to come:
Soon I will be adding a third arc for custom applications. I may add two more arcs which may be customizable. So, if you choose, you can have 2, 3, or 4 arcs that each trigger a different action.
Now for the fun part..
If you want to install this and try it out (and I would really appreciate if you did)
EDIT: I botched the flashable zip. Attached a zip with framework folder. Extract, do this:
Code:
adb shell stop
adb remount
adb push /path/to/framework/ /system/framework
adb shell reboot
Note: this framework was built with an old source (3 or 4 days old). I can almost guarantee it will cause some apps to force close and possibly display some weird icons here and there. Source is being synced now. If you want to try, backup your framework.
To backup,
Code:
adb pull /system/framework/ /path/to/backup/folder
Restore,
Code:
adb push /path/to/backup/folder /system/framework/
Enjoy and please lend me some feedback!
I don't see the flashable zip? Thanks a lot for this, its awesome. Now we just gotta get the circle smaller and the colors right and it will be great thanks!

Yeah I just realized I'm getting some force closes too. I'm sycing my source right now so I will have an up to date version soon that won't break anything. And hopefully some lock screen updates too

this lockscreen is pretty sick. I actually never saw the honeycomb lockscreen so i was lost at first on how to unlock my phone lol. it would be nice if it was displayed under the clock but im sure that's coming. i'd love those custom app options also. good work!

The only thing working for me are the widget themes. When I try flashing anything else it puts my phone into a boot-loop, and the only way to fix it is to go into recovery and do a restore.
You do need Launcherpro plus to get the widgets, then applying the theme to them should be no problem.
If anyone was able to find that "simpltext" doc them please let me know because I searched on the makers website and found nothing, thanks.

This happens sometimes. What you need to do is go back into Metamorph and choose pick existing theme. Scroll through till you get to the XML file and tap that and it should give you the choices to theme which app(s). Thanks to RangeStang for giving me this pointer. Hope it helps you too.

asking for it is weak, but 10 pounds isn't that much. if you were to cut the cost between 3 or 4 people it would be relatively cheap, make everyone's devices look super clean, and save someone else the hastle of trying to port.
i really like this theme. what i'd LIKE to do is speak to some devs who have experience modifiying Sense, etc. (e.g. Konikub, the original dev for Aloysius). Sense with a modified Rosies and the full Minimal Matte theme throughout all Sense apps would be badnasty.
seriously, i think i could go to a bar, pull my phone out, and have sex with the best looking girl at the bar as a result.
usually a phone won't get you laid, but in this case it might!

I haven't tried pushing the apk's yet... so thats my next attempt
has anyone else tried pushing the widget apk's and if so, did you succeed? If you're using Apps2SD where do you push to?
Hey, I'm having a similar problem. I found a CM6 build for Eris, then used MM to put on the theme since it wasn't working on my KaosFroyo ROM.
I have the status bar and notifications working great with it, but I can't figure out how to get the widgets and the icons.
Ok, hearing about the possibility of burn in on the screen of my brand new phone broke my heart. But it doesn't have to be that way. I usually have either Beautiful Widgets or Weather Widgets on my home screen so I don't need to have another clock in the status bar. So I removed it. (The burn in that has been reported to be from the AM/PM.
OK, now for a couple pre-requisites:
Obviously you must be rooted.
Download Metamorph from the market.
Please have Clockwork recovery installed and a backup made.
You MUST BE deodexed first. You will boot loop or worse if you are not. Here is a link (credit Frostman89) to download a deodexed update.zip for your phone. Please, read this.
Download the file and put in on your sdcard in the AndroidThemes folder.
Open metamorph and select unzip new theme.
Click on services.jar when that is done extracting, and it will ask you to reboot when it's done.
Be very very patient, it will likely take a long time to reboot. This might also include seeing the lockscreen for a second and continuing back at the bootanimation once. (It did for me)
After that, enjoy your new clock!!! err, lack of clock!
As usual I am not responsible for what you do to your phone, all releases are tested but there are multiple configurations that can give you problems. You are applying this at your own risk, I may help you if you have problems but don't blame me if you brick your device. Thanks

Awesome! Thank you for this! And thank you for the detailed instructions, esp regarding having to be deodexed.
This is exactly what I was going to request for the exact reason.
One question... would I be able to apply the accurate battery back on top of this, or does another theme have to be made?
You can apply the battery mod and any themes as long as they don't replace the services.jar. I have both working right now.

This is my first attempt at Rom development. After flashing many Roms from great developers here on XDA I have decided to try my hand at it. I'm sure you might ask what's different about this Rom compared to others you have already used. All I can say is this, I have taken the elements that I have grown to love from my favorite Roms and Themes and baked it into something I can be happy with. I hope you will be happy too!

How is it working so far?
Nice ROM, I Haven't Installed It Yet. But I Have Two Questions:
1. Can We Change The Font In Your ROM Into The System Default?
And Two
2. Can We Change The Battery Icon? I Personally Don't Like The Number Percentage On The Battery.
Other Than That, I Like The Look Of Your ROM, Good Job!
I Went Ahead And Installed The ROM Last Night, Overall Quick And Snappy ROM.
The Only Things That I Didn't Like Was The Themed Market, Also It May Just Be Me But My Battery Drained Pretty Quickly On This ROM Which I Found Strange. Not Sure Why.
Other Than That, Great And Snappy ROM. I Look Forward To Seeing What You Cook Up Next For This ROM
I am working on a Theme port atm so that is why I have been so slow for an update. You should see this Theme this weekend as long as I can get the original Themer to reply with a go ahead permission. I am also working on some new updates to this Rom so hopefully if all goes well you should see an update to it as well.

That's really all that I want, I don't really care about an entire theme.
Is there an easy way to get notifications like these, or is there a theme that is already like this that I can flash?
Thanks!
I'm working on one for you, been awhile since I've done this though so no promises.

Have you checked out the UOT Kitchen over in the Android themes section of there forums? You can do alot of different things. Search for UOT Kitchen. I would enter the link, but I'm on my phone.
Edit: Here is the link for the UOT Kitchen : Uot
Go to that link, click Kitchen, Pick the choices of what you would like modded, when you are finished, click the File Upload tab, where it says Select your rom from the kitchen list choose system files. Enter you framework and system.ui where it asks you to. When your done go to summary, and and choose Submit files to kitchen and go to files pickup area. Anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour and your flashable zip will pop up. Put on your sd card and flash. It sounds complicated, but after you do it once or twice its really cool.
Hopefully that helps a little. If not, sorry I wasted your time. Have a good night.

Are you referring to the notification bar where the clock and battery icons are? If so, its the statusbar_background.png in the Systemui.apk
Sent from my super sleek NS4G, powered by TeamNekkid.
If your referring to the notifications in the statusbar you can theme it easily with ZipThemer
Create a folder structure like so
Mms>res>drawable-hdpi
In the drawable-hdpi folder put the icons you want. The names ( I thik) are stat_notify_sms and stat_notify_mms. A good size is 38x38 pixels
Then go back to the main Mms folder and create a ZipThemer xml with the path set to Mms.apk
Edit: I made a ZipThemer xml and file structure for you. Just extract the zip, goto Mms> res> drawable-hdpi and put those two images in there then apply with ZipThemer
Remember if you use ZipThemer for the first time, goto the apps settings and select update edify
Here's the zip I made

Hey everyone,
first off, my apologies for replying so late. I've been busy with some ****, but finally got around to flashing the Theme I made in the UOT Kitchen.
It's looking pretty damn good to me. I was able to make the notifications black, and changed the notification bar itself a bit as well. I'm very pleased with the look so far, but as was stated in this thread, the whole process was extremely easy. Maybe the hardest part was waiting for the damn thing to be ready for download...lol
I'd post some screenshots of the notification bar, but with ShootMe not working anymore and since the Screenshot system that's built into CM exits out of the notification bar whenever I want to use it, I won't be able to provide you guys with any for now.
If anyone wants to try out the theme, I've attempted to attach it to this post.
Thank you all for your help!
There is a slight delay from the time you tap screenshot to the time it actually takes it.
I've scrapped my original idea, started over, and have been adding parts of ICS from around XDA to the OpenZio framework. This is a work in progress and this thread will be updated as the theme progresses.
Download - http://db.tt/VYTpvjmD
Installation instructions
1. Download the flash-able zip from the link above.
2. Shutdown your M6000 Zio.
3. Press the power button then quickly hold both the power and call buttons until fastboot appears on your screen.
4. Using the Android SDK use the fastboot boot [image name here] command to boot the recovery image.
5. It is highly recommended that you perform a backup of your current system before flashing this!
6. Install zip from SD card and select this theme.
7. Not really necessary but wipe dalvik-cache before rebooting.
8. Reboot and wait a few minutes for the system to start up.
9. Enjoy the theme, there will be more updates coming soon!

% battery icons 0-100
Signal icons
Notification drop down design
Blue highlights
Dark menu instead of white, text is still black but I'm working on changing to white because it is hard to read.
Lock slider resembles ICS
Working on
Adding ICS keyboard to the flashable zip
Making SystemUI work with the framework
Adding ICS ring lock, currently the only option for that is WidgetLocker

Much more...

I moved on to the Cricket Indulge but I still have my ZIO to play around with so I thought I give your theme a try. I assume that this is an openZIO theme and will not work over a stock ZIO. You might want to clarify this for all the noobs around here.
I really like what you have done with the notification drop down. The text for the battery and 3G indicators are too small for my aging eyes, but some will like it. The ICS keyboard is a is a nice touch, way better than stock.
If any openZIO users are looking for a fresh look they should give this theme a try. Looks like you are off to a good start I have noticed no other flaws other than the grey text on the black menu and you have already pointed that out.
Keep up the good work Mattix.

Should work on the stock rom but there will be the openzio notification background and say OpenZio v2.1.2.
The only changes in the framework so far is the png's for the theme.
I'll be working on updates and if you want I can drop a metamorph file for rooted users to try on other devices, I just have to be careful of which parts I can add to the morph so there isn't any boot loops.
I'll see if I can find blue or white 3g and other icons. I can use either a blue or white signal icon... What do you guys think?
