okay guys,
so i would like to be able to flash rombie v2a. i have flashed the phone itself using 512pit file and 2.2 jpk firmware using odin. so i got a jpk 2.2 samsung galaxy s and want to flash to rombie whats the saftest way ? Do i just copy the update.zip to sdcard/ then do 3 button recovery and flash that way or is something else needed.Rombiev2a jph files state the kernel needs changing and to use odin to flash it i get all that. but doesnt state if this is the same for jpk aswell. if anyone at all could shed some light and tell me hows i can flash rombie v2a 4 jpk i would be very gratefull cheers wattsy
I am using Rombies' V2A Full with JPK. You need to flash the i9000 kernel first to have recovery mode 2e. You need it to be able to flash the update.zip or you will get an error about unsigned updates. Then once you flash the update you flash the JPK kernel back to the phone.
Hello XDA,
I've used ODIN to flash to my default ROM on a few occasions when my SGS decided to not boot. This is a sort of pain, since I flash back to stock 2.1, then I have to upgrade to Darky 8.0 on 2.2 to access the "Darky Configurator" and then flash again to the latest Darky after using the configurator application.
Are there default 2.2 roms available? I couldn't find any. If not, can you use Odin to flash to a custom rom like Darky's?
I now realized that Darky has just released an Odin version, perfect!
Hi guys. I got a problem with sgs.
SOme time ago I've updated from stock froyo to simply honey 3.3. it's running on 2.3.3 JVO firmware and speedmod JVH kernel. Now i want to update to jvp and install tiramisu rom. I did that, but it shows that its still JVO/JVH and its 2.3.3.
I think i did everything right.
First i flashed stock JVP over to current rom in odin with pit
then kernel
and then via cwm rom.
ROm is installed correctly. THere are some bug, but i think its due to the fact that its based on jvo. how can i install the firmware i want?
any ideas/.
Flash stock-JVP (in Odin with PIT-file + Re-Partition) and then the ROM with CWM, it must work.

Hi I am still running Android 2.1 on my galaxy S I9000. Can I just flash 2.3.3 rom directly? Or I need to flash 2.2.1 first then 2.3.3?
You have to download a Gingerbread-ROM with bootloader like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011901
Just put the three files (PDA, CSC, Phone) into Odin, place a PIT-file into PIT-field, tick Re-Partition, enter download mode on your Galaxy, connect it with your PC and press 'Start'.
You can find a detailed flash guide in the thread above.
go to gingerbread directly.. if u dont want to flash via odin use kies and recieve the latest update(much safer and hassle free for beginners)..

hey guys just wondering if it was possible to use an i9000 rom on an i9000t?
Thanks
Look they are basically same thing, only different is its modem so, what you can do is download stock rom for your device after unzipping u will find a file naming MODEM, you can use this file to flash your phone after you had flashed i9000 rom by using odin in PHONE section without ticking re-partion.
Remember first flash i9000 rom you like then flash again MODEM of i9000t.
Not sure about putting an I9000 ROM on a I9000T, but from experience i do know you can't put a I9000T ROM on a I9000.
