Hey guys, I dont have my XV6900 here to test, but can anyone tell me if our phones will play Angry Birds (I have latest kernel and Fresh Froyo).
Thanks in advance....
I tried installing it with Fresh FroYo 2.2.1 and the SD card unmounts during the install and it fails :/

well, this happens with other apps to ie. Tic Tac Toe
sooo who nows where the problem lies, the app, sd card, or phone?
It would be awesome if I could get this installed for my little crumbcrunchers to play, and me of course...
Got it installed wth Icubus r16... i got as far as trying to load the first level. No go. It just kinda hung. If you mute your sound settings you'll load up a lot faster... but still... i don't think we have the horse power to run this thing.
LOL, i already play it since beta release, no hang up...

I'm using the "not so super froyo" rls: 10/17 and for my kern: voguimg-240x320-2.6.32-froyo-09-10-10_23.nbh... I edit the kernel to run in 320x480 and I set it to overclock at 520. I have a 4gb sd card in...
Hope that helps. My game runs very well. Although I have noticed that there are these white walls in the game and it's very difficult to see them. I assume it's just because the vogue's screen is ****:/

OK I matched your setup to the letter, tried to install from SD and got the unmounted SD card issue, and when i soft reset with the SD card in the app is not in the tray, and then the manage programs area its a grey icon with SD over it. Same if I install via adb.

I'm running it on the vogue with incubus rls 15. mine did the same thing as far as unmounting the sd during install. I re installed it back to back and then rather than exiting just hit open and it worked and placed the game icon in my apps drawer. Also as a side note when the game introduces a new bird or freezes before loading a level I just hold in my camera button to bring up the recently used items and click angry bird again this brings up the pause screen and i just hit replay level and all is good.
Mine hangs
I have Incubus26 RLS16 running on NAND. I had to reboot couple of times my phone because the SD card got unmounted and then it didn't recognize the storage. And tried installing againg using Astro.
It loads, but when I try to start the first level, it always hangs. I haven't been able to play at all
to install angry birds unmount the sd card before installing it'll install fine, then remount and play...the latest update for angry birds in the market...released...today or yesterday fixed my graphic problem (white terrain and background) which made it harder to play. there is some lag when playing mostly when the ad pops up at the beginning of a level.
I was able to find a download of this on the net.
I could NOT install from SD card.
I had Root Explorer, so changed permissions on the \tmp folder.
Copied the 14MB apk to the \tmp directory.
Installed from NAND - install went fine, no issues.
Was able to play, though its a little slow, @ 500 mhz
Another way is,
After install it, and get unmount msg,
Dont restart your phone, dont unmount your sd.
Go to Settings->Applications->Manage applications.
Choose Angry Bird and push "Move to phone" button.
Thats all.
Still get your unmount msg, just restart the phone.
Angry Bird will still remain in your phone memory and you could still play it.
Anyway, I was optimize and tweak Fresh Froyo,
now I could run it without oc. Just 400 without GPU oc too.
I just change the resolution.
i've found the latest update to be almost unplayable...it did fix the graphical problems (white terrain) but its not worth the extreme lag even running it on nand incubus rls 16, over clocked to 501mhz, with latest 11/12/2010 kernal... im going to have to stick with 1.3.5 version of angry birds unless someone knows of a some setting that might help

Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong forum, but I'm frustrated to no end.
I have a g1 running the latest cyanogen mod (4.2.9.1 I think it is). I also have a 4 gig sd card that was partitioned for the apps2sd mod. Everything was running fine until yesterday.
Now, every time I reboot I lose my apps. on the first reboot it will show tat my secondary sd is unavailable, and on the following reboot various apps crash and are unusable, most notably handcent and cm-updater.....
I've tried wiping/factory data reset, I've repartitioned and reformatted my sd card, and I've reflashed my rom.... All the above provide a temporary fix, but when I reboot, everything is gone again!
Can anybody help me?
try using a different rom and see if it does the samew thing. If it does, then its ur sd card. Is it Class 2? 4? 6?

I'm not sure on this... how do I determine?
on your sd card itself it should say Class 6 or Class 4 or Class 2. The lower the class the more your sd card has a chance of wearing out and becoming useless. IF its an old Class 2 Sd card, then its probably dying and its time to buy a new one.
It's a class 4, and not all THAT old... I took it back to stock 1.6. I'm gonna try re-partitioning, re-rooting, and re-modding tonight after work. *fingers crossed*
Ok.... this is ANNOYING!!!
I went back to stock... re-rooted my phone. When I repartitioned my sd card the process went smooth... looking at the sd & phone card storage it displays that I have 3.21 gb total and available... the sd secondary shows I have 457mb total and 398 mb free... this would lead me to believe I got it working properly.... WRONG!!!
Now when I try to open my market, it says this application installed, and its not in my app tray... so I reboot again (no offense to cyanogen, but Im SUPER sick of seeing the logo reboot... I just want my phone to rock like it used to) still no market...
What do I need to do now?
I'm having the same problem, but only when I apply a theme. If I just stay on plain cyanogen its doesn't happen.

You need to flash the stock HTC Recovery image then another ROM of your choice on top of that.
So I was getting unknown reason 18 error when trying to install certain apps from the market.
I've googled and search the forum. The best answer I could get was to wipe and reinstall the ROM, which I did not want to do.
Then I checked the logs and figured out the problem was that all those apps that would fail were trying to install on SD card by default.
The solution: move all the apps back to phone, put your microSD into a card reader and delete .android_secure folder. That's it!
didn't work for me
Worked
That worked for me. For ever I could not update Sky map. When I could not install Angry Birds I went "searching".
Thank you for the fix.
I don't think it'll work for me either.
None of my apps are on my SD. I know this because I can't even do that. When I try to transfer an app to sd it the progress bar just hangs there (doesn't move it just shows the striped pattern)
It worked!
Hey ho, it worked!! Finally the nagging issue is resolved (for me)
I can't find that folder/file! :S
.android_secure is hidden, you need to enable showing hidden files on your file manager. I use ES File Manager and it has such feature.
...or, you can just make sure your app is installed on the phone, then unmount the SD before updating.

Holy crap! It worked for me. I didn't have anything installed on the SD card either.
when your market chache is moved to the SD then move it back to the internal memory and clear the market data...
Worked for me... Thanks a lot...
i've had this error for quite some time - i realized i need to move the app back to phone in order to update it and then move it back to SD card.
Will try this method!
Thanks for posting
thank god this!!!!! work i'm was getting piss off at is unknown 18 **** it was hunting me in my dreams THANKYOU
Please, I have the same problem but I haven't space in my phone to return the SD apps. Is there another way to solve this?
Simple FIX
Just take out the sd card, install whatever is giving you an error, then pop the sd card back in. No fuss no muss!
Nice SIMPLE solution!
Thank you. Didn't involve rooting the phone, installing adb, saying magic mantras etc. etc.
Thanks

Ok, so I figured out a solution that is hopefully "better" and "quicker" for all. Simply connect your phone to your computer (as USB Mass storage), browse to the folder '.android_secure' (make sure you can view hidden files/folders in windows) and delete the file 'smdl2tmp1.asec' (I just renamed it 'smdl2tmp1.asec.delete' just in case it didn't work).
Problem solved! Everything updates just fine now and I didn't have to move any apps back from the SD card to the phone.

I have a peculiar problem. I install Asphalt 5 from samsung applications. It installs properly and I can play also. But on reboot, it just disappears. I am running doc rom 9.1.4 xwjs3 with baseband as JPY. Can anybody give me some solutions?
Glad I"m not the only one. My son loves that game too Running DocRom latest.
Yeah, me too. Asphalt 5 on latest DOC rom just disappear after reboot, the icon stays, but it's blank. Same issue with Brother in Arms 2.
Hello, i have the same issue. I solved it temporarily by using Move2SD Enabler and moving Asphalt 5 to my external SD card.
Maybe someone can find another solution.

Android 3.0? Are you talking about Honeycomb? In most cases you don't need ADB to get the Android Market on to your Nook. You should be able to flash it using the Clockwork Recovery.
What version of Android do you have installed? Where to you have it installed to? Exactly what is your end goal?
I have android 3.0 Honeycomb installed on a 32GB Micro-SD. It works fine. My end goal is to just use the nook as much like I do my phone as possible. So i want to download Gmail, Kindle, Facebook, Google+, Music, etc.
I do have a 2 gig clockwork recovery SD already setup and did a backup of the Nook before I started. How can I use it to get Google Market and Amazon Market installed?
Using Honeycomb on the Nook isn't recommended, it is far from completely functional and there is no on going development on it, the devs are waiting for Ice Cream Sandwich.
I recommend using CM7, the nightlies seem to be the most functional and stable and are actively developed and supported.
That said if you are intent on using it anyway I would recommend going with the latest effort by Divine_madcat, from what I understand it is the most up to date and functional of the ports, here, it installs on the internal memory and comes preinstalled with the Market.

I would be happy to just use Android 2.2 like what is on my Thunderbolt. Can you point me to a guid that would walk me through how to get it installed as easily as possible?
The reason I went with Honycome was that it was so easy, I just wrote the image to the 32GB SD and turned it on.
I would like to install to the internal mem but the first one i tried using my 2GB Clockwork SD didnt work...
Oh and my Nook is V1.2.
Burn the CWR image here to your SD card, once you've done that you can grab the latest nightly here , throw it on your SD card and flash it by booting up the Nook with the SD card inserted and choosing "install zip from sd card". Remove the SD card from your Nook and boot it up, then open the Rom Manager app and go to "download rom" then download and flash gapps. once you've done that you'll be all up and running, you can then use a program like mini tool to repartition your SD card.

Clean format ur SD card.
Download this.
Unpack it.
Write it to the SD card.
Download the latest stable release or nightly build of CM.
Put the downloaded ROM to the "boot" partition of ur SD card.
Boot the NC.
Let it install and reboot.
Connect wifi on successful boot and turn off the NC.
Download Gapps here.
Reboot it to the recovery by pressing "N + power" keys at the startup
It will install Gapps and reboot thats it.
Hit thanks if it helps
Ok that worked great!! Thank you!
But I dont understand what "Flash Gapps" is and I dont see it... I have a 2nd SD card so I dont care about repartitioning the one I used to get the image on...
It wont let me mount the SD card that has the GAPS on it. And it keeps saying "only premium user can mount..." etc.
So I reboot and install GAPS the same way I did the image??
I'm confused again

Copy ur Gapps to the "boot" partition of ur SD card having CM7 and power it on holding the "power and N" keys together till it says "loading recovery" it will install the same way like it installed CM7 ROM.
Thats all.
If this doesn't work let the CM7 power on and hold power off and check the option "Reboot into recovery".

Good glad you've made it.
Spoke too soon. Its all F'ed up. Thing is error city and I cant download anything from the market.
"This process android.process.media has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. "Force Close""
That error comes up as soon as it gets passed the cyanogen screen and then comes up when you try to do almost anything...
Wish I could post this to the "Size agnostic SD Boot" thread, but as a Noob, I can't.
Have: New NC, had 1.2, updated to 1.3. Created bootable CM7.1 stable card on a new Sandisk 4GB, Class 4 card as per instructions in that thread. All seemed to go well. Upon start up, I see my new Android home page. After several seconds, I get an error: "Sorry! Process system is not responding". Gives me a choice between "Force Close", and "Wait". Choosing either seems to not make a difference. I have no WiFi connection, and going to settings I can't seem to enable it. After about 3 minutes, it freezes. But before so, I can interact with my new (impressive!) system.
Tried:
1. Numerous reboots.
2. Re-flash SD card. Three times. No good.
3. Went from 7.1 stable to latest Nightly.
Symptoms are always the same, right down to the time it takes to freeze.
If I don't interact with it after boot, the screen goes blank, but I detect a slight background light - is this perhaps the SOD problem?
Ideas?
What brand is your SD card?

Sandisk 4GB, Class 4 card
I've read a bit about a Wifi driver patch, but I can't get the NC to run long enough to try and patch it in.
I recently bought a refurb Nook and install CM 7.1 Stable on a Sandisk Class 4 8gb card without issue. I'm actually shocked at how well it runs.
Maybe you got a bad card?
I'm sure somewhere you might find a utility to see if the card has issues? Check the SANDISK website.
Installing CM7 on the 4GB card was a temporary move, as I just had to try it. I have a 16GB card that should show up today. So, given that....
I installed CWM on the 4GB card, and it seems to work fine. However, I doubt that CWM "stresses" the card to the extent that running full Android would.
Keeping fingers crossed that a different card may work.
Hans.
I am using a 4gb class 2 Sandisk card and it works great. I have 8gb class 6 Transcend cards and they are not as good. I get force closes using them with certain apps.
Update: New SD card - *exactly* the same symptoms. Same error immediately after Home screen loads: "Sorry! Process system is not responding", and then it freezes solid in about 3 minutes regardless what I'm doing. And no Wifi.
Just as before.......
Try downloading the images again and start over.
"Try downloading the images again and start over. "
Well, in effect I did. I tried a couple of different versions of CM7. Also tried redoing the .img loader/boot file.
In every case, I get exactly the same symptoms.

Yes, tried once to download the .img file. I'm reasonably sure it's 1.3, as that is in the file name. It took FOREVER to decompress - like an hour. Used gzip for the heavy lifting.
Just curious.... Would an even slightly corrupt .img loader file even work? I mean, it seems that it's job is to load CM7, and then after that is done, the rest is up to CM7. Is it possible that a bad .img file would basically work, but load a slightly corrupted CM7?
Don't know if it's an issue with the Nook itself. Has been running B&N 1.3 super stable, and for the last couple of days (with ~8 hours/day), I've been on a ManualNootered 1.3 with no problems or instabilities whatsoever. Did the MN install (as well as a bootable CWM) with the same SD, USB adapter, and PC with no problems.
Really scratching my head over this one.
Thanks.

This is the part that gets me. I've made a few of these cards and all I ever did was unzip the image file with winzip and write the image to an sdcard with winimage. The unzipping process only took a few seconds.

What are you using I am using winrar 3.41 and my PC is like about 4 years old so not a fast processor.
Download winrar trial and start again
Again, I appreciate all the help. Here is what I've done:
1. Read a bunch of the stuff from the suggested Google search. (doh! - should have done this first). There is little Nook specific, but it seems that some apps on some devices seem to be the guilty culprit. I had only loaded 2 apps (Tweek and Priceline) on my NC before trying CM7.1, so if it is an app, it would have to be one of those, as the rest of the apps are pre-installed B&N, which (I assume...) the rest of you have. (Note: being new to all this, I'm surprised that their is no obvious way to uninstall an app. Seems I remember some sort of app manager on Market. I'll look.)
1a. There are several reports of alarms being set on alarm clock apps causing problems. On my fresh CM7.1 install, the clock did indeed have 2 alarms set. I deleted them and rebooted. No good.
2. Since there is a possibility of this being app related, I cleared the caches from CWM. Reinstall. It appears that this is a moot point, because I noticed in the install routine that it says "clearing caches". Oh well.
3. Got fresh copy of 1.3 .img file, and installed WinRAR. The unzip was a lot faster, but still not super speedy - about 1 minute (1GHz PC, WinXP)
4. Redid the SD chip again with my fresh files. Getting good at this. Win32Imager, safe remove, reinsert, copy CM7.zip, save remove, boot in NC.
5. No good. "Sorry! Process system is not responding". I've heard conflicting info whether "Wait" or "F/C" is better, but it doesn't seem to matter in my case.
So, short version: Tried new SD, new file downloads, new unzip utility. Meanwhile, over in eMMC land, rooted B&N 1.3 is cruising along just fine, with no errors or crashes.
Sure would like to try CM7, though.
At this point the only thing I can think of is that the sd card boot is conflicting with your rooted emmc. I've only created cm7 cards for stock nooks and never ran into any problems.

Well, as I mentioned earlier, I did most of this messing around before rooting 1.3. I only applied ManualNooter after it was becoming clear that CM7 might be a long drawn out process. I was needing Market access. FWIW, the boot manager that you can boot into from the card (enabling selection of SD or eMMC) has been working with both 1.3 and rooted 1.3 - which I suppose it should. I mean, nothing got broke in that department.
Anyway, I really appreciate the comments.
Just a thought ----
Is the v1.3.img file shown in the original procedure compatible with B&N 1.3 and blue dot partitioning? Or does it even matter? I'm guessing that it shouldn't matter, as CM7 is supposed to be running from SD, but perhaps the partition sizes on the SD are mimicked from eMMC, and incompatible?
Boy, I'm really grasping at straws here.......
Ok last one, did you try formatting the sdcard?

Yes, no, kinda, and sorta. The various cards that I used were new. So I basically assumed they had a fresh 'virgin' chip that would tolarate most anything. Again, assume. However, burning an .img file I think would render a format moot. Don't know that, just making another assumption.
