Hey guys,
I rooted my GT I9000M using the SGS Easy Rooting tool and then installed the One Click Lag fix app. After a few days, I tried to unroot the phone using the onboard OCLF(One click lag fix) app. This caused the phone restart and it got stuck on the screen with the glowing S. It stays that way for ~10 minutes and then goes blank. But the capacitative buttons light up when I press the home button. The process repeats when I hold down the power button at this stage.
I think the three button mode works for me because I was able to get into the 'Downloading' mode. I am a noob and don't know what to do now. I haven't messed with the ROMs or anything. Just rooted the phone.
What am I supposed to do now? PLEASE help me.
Thanks.

Alright guys,
Tried installing some battery icon replacement the phone then restarted...then gets stuck on galaxy s screen it plays the startup music in the background but doesnt change...i held the volume up, home and power button to reset the phone but it still freezes on the screen.
I've got no idea how to flash to stock australian rom any help would be most appreacited....
Turn the phone off.
Check then if download mode is working(volume+,home then power).
If this works then use odin to change the firmware.
Search the development section for this.
Hope you fix it.
Cheers

Hey guys, im relativly new to all this stuff, and i decided to root my phone (Galaxy S I9000) and run One click lag fix, however, the problem being is i only temp rooted my phone, and when i did OCLF it rebooted, which will un root the phone, which will then not allow OCLF to run (is my understanding).
Now i try and trun my phone on and it loads past the "S" animation, but then goes to a black screen, with the menu and back button lit up, and vibrates every now and then. I can get into download mode, and i can get into recovery mode, my question is, is there a way to fix all this, without hard resetting, or losing all my apps/contacts/messages?
I only just did this and it was a bit of a pain, and i dont feel like doing it again, if all else fails i will have to do it but i would prefer not.
Thanks in advance for all help
sometimes removing the battery for a while, then 3 button recovery, then reboot phone works
galaxy i9000 on froyo, rooted, one click lag fix.
out of the blue, whilst playing my gameboid emulator, phone started vibrating and rebooted. now i can not get into any of my phones data or files, all i get is a black screen, quick glimpse of my homescreen (correct times and up to date messages being received) more vibrating, then another black screen with more vibrating and a quick glimpse of my homescreen. this process continues in a loop for as long as it wants, or until i take my battery out.
my phone was one of the unfortunate bunch that got dispatched from orange that can't access recovery mode.
don't really want to send it back to orange because its rooted, so just wondering if there is any way of doing a factory reset, or any other solution to the problem would be highly appreciated.
thanks, tom.
please help i really dont want to send it back to orange
I would reinstall the stock firmware. I mean do you have a custom rom in your phone as this is all happening? If so, reinstall that rom. But which ever you have, get into download mode by one of these two methods:
Turn off your phone, hold volume down, home button, and vomlume button all at once and at the same time.
Or
Take your battery out, hold volume down, home button, and power then reinsert the battery.
What you are trying to get is a yellow android that's digging. Once/if you get into download mode, use Odin to flash the stock firmware or any custom rom that is Odin compatiable.

but he doesnt have the 3 button combo.........
anyway there is a way to fix the 3 button combo, put it in the search bar.
if you wanna do a hard reset and see if that clears the problem type into the dialler *2767*3855#
ah i see. still worth a shot though. my other SGS phone (vibrant) had recovery disabled, but i could get into download mode by taking the battery out and reinserting it while holding volume down, home button, and power button.
PROBLEM
JUST FLASH NEW ROM VIA ODIN YOUR PROBLEM WILL BE short out..........................if I really help u plz click on thanks meter
Hello all,
For some reason, my Galaxy s with froyo does not start anymore since this morning. It stays on the start up window, "GALAXY S, GT-9000 SAMSUNG" all the time. Perhaps it is installing an update. i do not know as i have not downloaded anything.
What are the steps for fixing this if it stays all the time.
Should i do a manufactyre reboot? if so, how to do this?
Thanks for your help
F
i take it you are on a stock samsung rom ??
if so boot into recovery menu, Holding volume up button + home button + power button all at the same time
this should bring up a menu with the option to do a factory reset. navigate it using volume up and down. and home button to select
you will lose all your data !! but this might fix the problem.
if not report back and we will consider some other options
this is strange.. 2 days ago my phone started experiencing similar things. I have stock UK rom, unlocked, no rooting, everything official, no damage..
I pulled the battery out, and it did it again. What i did in the end is just leave it there, and it eventually switched on. What could be causing the slowdown?
Still blocked on start up window
i did the rebood
vol up + home + power
wiped the memory and factory reset
and when i restart it still stays on the first window (at least 1 hr now)..
any other suggestions?
thx
Same story here, stock UK rom...no rooting etc. Has happened to me in the past. Luckily the factory reset from recovery mode had worked.
Phone back to normal now, still not very reassuring with others similar stories.
Can anyone shed any light on this issue? I'm no expert myself.

I would flash a new custom rom

No hacks no cracks then its under warranty Samsung Service centre .
If the fault is hardware then custom rom may not help at all .

My phone was working just fine till today morning my phone hung up. As a general response I pressed the power key to lock it. Nothing happened. Nothing. So I waited it out. Soon the phone was back but the power key became totally dead. It wasn't locking the screen. I used the Screen lock app on emanoN rom v4 to lock the phone and it was working. The screen was getting locked. Figuring this must be some freak bug I tool out the battery and restarted the phone. Same problem except now even simply pressing and not long pressing the lock key would prompt the shut down menu. If ignored the phone just casually restarts. This is annoying because if out of reflex i press the power key , my phone will restart. Now, sometimes the power key does do it's job of simply locking and unlocking the phone. But sometimes it just restarts the phone.
I thought this was a problem with the ROM and so i shifted to godell's MORe ROM. Same problem. Now I've shifted to fresh stock 2.3.6 flashed using Odin and I'm still having the same problem. Pressing power does not lock and instead prompts the shut down/restart menu. and Sometimes the phone just restarts at random . Please help me fix this.
I'm going to go for a full downgrade to 2.3.3 [Since my 2.3.6 upgrade just flashed the MODEM*.md5 and CODE*.md5 files]
But before that.. Why is this happening? Is there any fix?
Thanks!
I have completely reflashed to gingerbread 2.3.3 using odin and problem persists.
I do not think this is a hardware issue, because the button's reactivity is just fine. It's just the action that it does after the keyPress.
Your power key problem might be a hardware issue... :| How old is your phone? You might have used it too much. My friends galaxy mini- the volume up button doesnt work because he used it too much.
It's about an year old.. I'd say 10-11 months or so..
