just get a file explorer and post one of those on your SD card root. actually i think its called App installer in the market.
why dont you just go to unrevoked.com on his phone or use the 1 click root apk for the hero? if you need them i can post em for ya.
why does everything have to be harder these days lol
Ill tell you how it goes.

I finally found a way to unlock the HBOOT! A patch is applied to the bootloader and then you can flash Unrevoked and get all the custom ROMS!!!
But be careful! It's not my fault if this tool will break your phone, so you're doing it on your own responsibility!! Also please read the instructions carefully! And don't remove power or unplug the USB cable while the unlock is running, otherwise you will brick your phone!!!
Instructions:
1. make a backup of all your apps and data on your phone just to be sure
2. download unlockhboot.zip and extract it somewhere. there is only one binary file unlockhboot
3. if you don't have adb then download it somewhere and make sure it's running
4. make sure you have USB debugging mode enabled
5. on your PC open a command line (Start --> Run --> then enter cmd)
6. change to the directory that contains the downloaded unlockhboot
7. type in the following commands:
adb push unlockhboot /data/local
adb shell
cd /data/local
chmod 744 unlockhboot
Click to collapse
8. now to start flashing the patch.... just type in:
./unlockhboot
Click to collapse
I made the process as simple as possible. The tool will get itself a root shell, extract your bootloader, patch it, and then flash it back. After this it will automatically boot into recovery mode and from there you should be able to flash Unrevoked!

Basic scripts just work for one day. You need to buy a licence to let it work forever.
So you need to wait for an updated script. Maybe donating would speed up the process.

If you're on the Sprint One, it won't work. The rom doesn't work on our device at the moment.

yes, I took the MJ5 update, so MI9 is not an option,
I modified the framework-res which caused a soft brick, however I must not had turned on debugging in dev options prior to doing so, so I cannot use adb to push anything as it sees the device but is offline.
I could sideload an update.zip in recovery it has to be signed or else it would fail...
Any suggestions?
Are you booting at all and getting fcs or no boot what so ever?
how did you guys get this to work? I cant seem to fully install it or copy it to the system folder. HTC one btw. I get the feeling everything root wise is harder with this phone.

The app get installed in /system/priv-app which require /system to be writable. So you'll need a custom kernel with /system writable feature.

I don't suppose you can link to one that you trust.
Also I copied the apk to my /system/priv-app using root explorer and it seems to kind of work. Is this bad?

yeah it happens with some custom kernels, either wait for update or try a different one.
Someone on that forum told me I needed to use an updated version. But thanks got it working along with the gsam . You've been great. See you helping tons of people here besides me too. Much appreciated. Hope I can repay one day.
Oops this was for alray. But thanks to you too Nk
I know about unlocking the bootloader by ADB, but how do I actually root my watch so I can install TWRP and eventually custom ROMs?

I am currently not rooted but I have Twrp installed and bootloader unlocked!
If being rooted is a big thing for you now (there really is no need to be just yet), When I had my G Watch, there was a toolkit over there that did all 3 things for you. The dev claims its for G Watch only, but a reply was posted that someone had success on the Live as well, which I dont see why that would be an issue considering its the same OS on both..
If you want to be the test person...feel free !!

There is no such reply that says it is working for the Live.... in fact the Dev specifically quoted someone that asked if it'd work for the Live and he said no.. don't know where you read that

You are right..It was a different thread and he was referring to his app working..not the toolkit...I misread that .
Regardless...as I posted on my reply...unlock your bootloader...reboot the watch and let it set up etc...After a few min, flash the TWRP file in ADB...reboot into TWRP,,,then reboot the watch...
Those are the steps I did and I have TWRP installed...but no root access yet :|

I am not either haha. But same here, hopefully Sammy will soon come out with a stock image that we can Odin!
I wouldnt put to much faith in Sammy anymore. I used to have the S4 on Verizon and that sucker was locked down pretty tight, and I think the S5 is also..seems to be their way of doing things lately

That has nothing to do with Sammy, it's Verizon. My Sprint S5 was able to be rooted BEFORE IT EVEN LAUNCHED! Btw developmnt is kickin' for the Verizon S5 right now.

I believe there also was a bounty on it, that..up till I sold it..went unclaimed. If thats still the case I dont know

Sent from a Galaxy 5 light years away
it was alittle confusing (well the twrp terminal part) but these are the steps he gave me:
Install TWRP, use that to root your device. Then remove the /System/app/Superuser.apk.
Boot into TWRP
Mount the system
Use the TWRP terminal emulator
rm /system/app/SuperSU.apk
I went into TWRP, mounted the system, and went to reboot the watch, at which point it said that I was not rooted and asked me to install Superuser...I clicked yes, then rebooted and let it settle
Went back to TWRP, made sure system was still mounted, and used the built in file manager (I really had no idea how to use the TWRP terminal since there was no way to input the rm command on the watch itself) to manually remove the Superuser.apk.
