how did you guys get this to work? I cant seem to fully install it or copy it to the system folder. HTC one btw. I get the feeling everything root wise is harder with this phone.

The app get installed in /system/priv-app which require /system to be writable. So you'll need a custom kernel with /system writable feature.

I don't suppose you can link to one that you trust.
Also I copied the apk to my /system/priv-app using root explorer and it seems to kind of work. Is this bad?

yeah it happens with some custom kernels, either wait for update or try a different one.
Someone on that forum told me I needed to use an updated version. But thanks got it working along with the gsam . You've been great. See you helping tons of people here besides me too. Much appreciated. Hope I can repay one day.
Oops this was for alray. But thanks to you too Nk

hi,
lately i have been experimenting with my velocity, been trying to find some good roms, no such luck accept for a couple,
the on that is 98% working is the Elagancia rom,
the 2% not working is the wifi and sometimes bluetooth, as we all know this problem is because there is no MAC address assigned, apparently this is because the kernel version has been flashed to many times,
anyway other roms like dark raider, holics and some others have error boxes pop up on the screen nearly every second, and yep, this is very annoying,
So, can anyone help me out with this wifi problem?
Cheers,
Luke.

Try to replace the WIFI module: /system/lib/modules/
Try this one, this is from my ROM, and if this one doesn't work, you can try to replace it my the one in the original ROM
***Replace the file extension .txt by .ko

That's an other solution. But I think I had the same problem with this ROM. So I replaced the wi-fi module and everything was okay.
Try those solutions and let us know.

Normally, when wifi/bluetooth, etc. Don't work, it is cause you don't flash boot.img correctly.
Command: fastboot flash boot boot.img
If your boot.img is named differently then adjust the last part of the command

Yep, i know...
With each new rom I fastboot flash the proper boot. img inside the zip rom file but with no success .. anyway this method is used if you are S-ON, now I'm S-OFF.
Im installing CM11 again now, that it seems like it has own kernel..
I would like to know where are the configuration files in the linux/kernel so i can find where/what driver is looking for.. im googling but couldn't find anything yet.

The only thing we need is a working Recovery.
After that root should be easy. Just unlock your bootloader, flash recovery then flash SuperSU.zip.

You have to wait for some nice developer to port a working recovery for it.
Don't flash anything for now.

Once you obtain root, just copy & paste, the whole system dir to your internal memory.
I did mine unrooted & it took 4 different filer apps to do it 99.9% one file in /etc would not.
Then zip the whole thing & upload to Google drive or whatever. I use Mega.
I like to post the link as an attachment so people can see the activity.

been waiting on a tester for days now.
Today I have had my first ever boot loop where the phone will not get past the animation screen. The last thing I did was install an xposed module called "Nottach Xposed". Not sure where to go from here. Never had this sort of problem before. Any help would be appreciated. I'm unlocked, rooted, running stock 4.4.2. I am able to get into custom recovery (twrp) if that'll help me. I don't want to attempt to find and delete where the file installed through TWRP till I can get some info from somebody here who is vastly more intelligent than I with our devices.

You should have a Xposed-Disabler-Recovery.zip file on your device. Mine always goes to /sdcard0/. If you flash it, it should disable all your modules

yes there is if you can boot into TWRP, but idk if that is safe to do.
Advanced, File Manager, then navigate to where you think the file is, click on it and then you will have the option to delete it. Idk if there will be any permissions problems or not.

yes, but you can download old versions online. some old versions are way too old for lollipop. try flashing the one in the link i provided. download it via your phone, boot into recovery after its downloaded, then flash it and reboot

CM has root disabled by default I believe. If you download the SuperSU app when you're not rooted, you cannot install the binaries because the binaries go in /system which needs root to modify and its the binaries that make root possible. Kind of a catch ²²
When you flash the binaries from recovery to /system, you don't need root because root is only applicable to android, which isn't running when you're in recovery.
Hope this helps
