need help to access usb debugging - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

ok i am trying to get the phone to connect to usb debugging mod
i have already instaled cf lag fix which is done by usb debugging
now i want to uninstall it
so each time i connect the phone and start cflagfix it gives an error message and then says that i should check the phone and connect it
in the command prompet when i type the adb devices thingy i see my phone and the serial number
what am i doind wrong here ?
ps i was so angry that i flashed jm5 again with re partition
the lagfix effect is gone but is it really gone ??? or do i need to uninstall it ?

in windows check into Device Manager
and make sure there is no question mark or exclamation mark
my PC USB is crazy every now and then it will not know it's the same phone connected
so, perhaps your Windows might be suffering from something simple like that
another thing you can do is to connect it another PC / laptop and do your ADB tricks from there

[Q] Unable to connect to PC

Hello
I have Froyo 2.2 I9000JXJPB
I used to be able to connect to PC but not any more. Im using Windows 7 64
I even tried and restored my laptop for factory condition and wiped out my galaxy.
Sometime when I connect the phone with the usb cable and PC would say unrecognized peripheral device and most of the times nothing happenes
it does not help if USB debug is checked or not
I even tried different usb ports in the laptop but nothing work
its driving me crazy
need help please
ok, put the phone in download mode and then connect it, try a USB port that connects direct to the motherboard, usually at the back of the tower.
also if that fails, try to uninstall kies and then re install it, that will re install the drivers.
then post back with the result.
EDIT: just realised your on a laptop not pc

Before postig my question I tired uninstalling and reinstalling kies. also tried driver reinstall option from kies
I downloaded the driver separately tried installing several times but it did not help...
Installation always endup with a message Device driver was not successfully installed
Unknown device device unplugged
Unindentified device device unplugged
If i recall correctly my problems maybe was with the last update with kies
if you go into computer > device manager and then select on the 'unidentified driver' you can select uninstall.
then start the process again, and also try installing it for the 2nd time with a different port.

Help, no USB after flashing ICS, also "mod version unknown"

Guys
I flashed ICs and all is good, the only thing that doesnt work is i cannot for the life of me conenct my USB to my pc. I have tried everything, the terminal command, drivers, unistall keis, reinstall drivers, diffrent drivers , reboot etc etc.
It even does the same on my partners pc (XP) just says " Usb device not recognised".
I can get into recovery, no problem but i cant connect to Odin because of the USB error.
One question, in my phone setting is says my mod version is "unknown" is this correct or could this be my problem?
Any help would be great as its doing my head in!
Thanks
Just Upgrade it to RC3.1 And Try again.. worked 4 me ..

newbie to GT-i9000M - can't connect to Kies

Hi to everybody!
I got used i9000M (Canadian) for my daughter (I have LG 3D so not really newbie to Android). It's in factory default state with 2.2 Android.
I tried to update system using Kies but have problem connecting my phone to PC. If I just boot phone up my Win 7 can see it (but not kies). I enable USB debug and Kies says something like "mode is not compatable". Should I untick USB debug and enabler KIES mode under Wireless?
But once I unplug it and plug back I get error 43:
Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
I read and read and read... I'm ready to try odin but I don't know what exact ROM fits my SG... Also lots of stuff is connected to megaupload...
Thanks for any links in advance!
There is an option on Kies to reinstall drivers. I would suggest trying that. But above all, I would advise on rooting the phone and installing a custom ICS rom, like SlimICS. It will add tons of features and make your phone faster while conserving battery life. If you want to transfer files, just plug your phone in, and enable USB Mass Storage mode and you can just drag and drop files like you do with normal flash drives.

If you want to fix code 43, you should try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27205737&postcount=4571
IF you want to upgrade it by Odin , the Latest Gingerbread ROMS are here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102881 ,choose the one for your region, all other resources that you may need can also be found at the My Android Collection link below

Thanks for reply! But here is the strange thing :
If I set USB debugging mode on the phone, my PC sees it with no problem and I see two devices in Device Manager under Portable (and they are identified as Samsung ...) But in this mode Kies doesn't connect - I get message like "unable to connect, switch phone to Kies mode ".
But once I turn debugging off, turn Kies mode on and connect the phone, my PC sees only one device and it's in USB group (in Device Manager). And now I get error 43...
So I think it's not the physical connector (otherwise I would not be able to connect at all) but rather old system - 2.2
I'll try to update it with Odin and let you guys know the result.

You should instal SAMSUNG USB Drivers for Mobile Phones from here
Also try different usb port or computer. Make sure to kill all Kies processes when you using Odin.
Thanks for help - still no luck
Guys, thanks for help! I really appreciate it!
I installed SlimICS - phone running nice. But my both computers (XP and Win7) give me errors...
Funny part is - Odin works perfectly and I can see my phone in Device Manager with no problem!
Anyway, it's not REALLY big problem, rather inconvenience.
I don't know if it matters, but I also noticed that my AC charger for LG doesn't charge i9000. Weird? Do they have different pinout?
Thanks again.
It's me again
Just for fun connected the phone to old Toshiba laptop at work with win XP, without installing any Samsung drivers and ... And Toshiba recognized phone and showed me two drives - internal and SD!!!
My home computers still giving me grief... Both systems (xp and wib7) stubbornly don't want to install drivers! They put some Microsoft driver from 2007...
I'll keep fighting (installed Kies several times, just drivers - couple versions...)

[Solved] Mass storage not working after failed root

Hi,
Im using a stock v30a rom and windows 7.
Yesterday i tried to root my phone with the latest version of AIO tool.
I followed instructions to the letter but while rooting the screen remained blank
AIO tool displayed a message "nvflash started" and went idle.
Rooting older versions was a matter off seconds so after a while i figured nothing
is going to happen and unplugged the usb cable.
The AIO tool then displayed a "usb write error"
The phone is working fine now but when i connect it to my pc in mass storage mode
It disconnects and reconnects all the time as if i was taking the cable in and out.
I did a hard reset , reinstalled LG united phone driver but that did not help.
Update: I connected the phone to a pc at work and mass storage works fine.
Can someone please help me uninstall the nvflash driver?
Looks like the presence of both drivers confused windows.
Figured i post the solution just in case someone has
the same problem.
Remove battery plug usb cable with volume up and down pressed,
Windows recognise "Nvidia usb device" go to device manager and
uninstall its driver.
If next time you connect the phone you get "cdc serial device not
connected" error reinstall lg driver and you re done.

Do you have Motorola Device Manager Installed?
If not then Download Here: Click Here
Yes it is installed properly
Ok.
First check this : First open Settings then navigate to Storage and touch the upper-right corner for the USB computer connection options. Make sure Media device (MTP) is selected.
If this doesn't work then well you need to update the driver for your phone which your computer is using. Go to device mangaer on your pc and click on your phone name and update all drivers(left click to see options).
Still not working
It worked for half hour and then gone again
