Is there any voice search on original (Eclair) rom?
If not, any way to install it from an apk?
Thanks!
Nevermind, I found the APK here

Still, weird that the thing is not there by default :|
Well... this one only crashes... I'll try to get the one on my Vogue to see if it works...
Anyone else experimented with this?

I know, this seems like regression, what with enhanced qwerty keyboards and all (I'm currently using PCMKeyboard), but a friend likes to SMS the old-school way (and is quite fast at it), and is looking for the standard 12-key keypad for his TyTN II.
Anybody know where I can get a *.cab file or similar?

Scroll down until you find the CAB file to download. Sorry, don't know how to go direct to a particular message..

Hey thanks. I already found the Touch-Keyboard-Keypad.cab over on mobiletopsoft. But now I'm experiencing the autocorrect interruption when using the hardware keyboard. I'll try that file you suggested and hope it works better.
Thanks again
Hello,
I have a problem with the SmartToolkit. The Program freezes very often. I can´t say when it does. Has anybody else the problem or know a program that works like this (but stable)?
Thanks, Timo

I used RC9 and had the same problems. I now use RC07 and it works great. No freezing.

You have to turn of "Global Skinning" to stop SmartToolkit from freezing. I believe you'll find it in SmartToolkit settings somewhere.
Where do you get SmartToolkit RC7? I can´t found it on the web, but want it.
Can you send me the link?
You clearly didn't search hard enough, it is right on the STK home page.

Ive downloaded and installed cootek touchpal, pocketcm keyboard and htc touch qwerty and none of them work. I have installed the sipchanger app also to make the onscreen keyboard stick after a soft reset but i cant even get the keyboard to come on the screen after i instal them succesfully, I go to start > settings input and once i choose the new keyboard, usually in WM 6.0 the keyboard would show up then i would need to use sip changer to make it stick....but when im in input settings the keyboards wont even show up on the screen. I dunno if this is a rom problem and i should post this in the rom section but is their another sip application i can use to make keyboards show up? sip changer isnt working for me but when i used duttys 6.1 apr 29 rom , my keyboards worked so i duunno whats up with the v9 rom......can someone help me figure this out so i can get an on screen keyboard to work...this rom didnt come with another third party app keyboard so i desperatly need another on screen keyboard other then this really small default white one...someone plz help

Same thing happenning to me. I have tried different third party .cabs and everything seems fine with the installation, but when I go to select the diamond keyboard nothing happens. Even if I use SIPchanger. It will do nothing.....
I got to work once, but then it stopped again. Some help please.
Holy Crap. What the hell!?
Seriously guys, If you posted this in Leo's V9 Thread. You would have gotten the answer.
Plus I know for darn sure that there are multiple answers in the v9 thread on how to do it.
You know how long that thread is? how long do we have to keep reading crap just so that we can get a decent answer? Why not just save us the trouble and tell us the answer here?
Well I'll search for it since I'm not lazy... but it would have been better if someone actually responded to this thread with a real answer.

The problem with your theory, is that others may have the same issue in the future. Then, when they go the the rom thread to which the problem pertains, they can't find the answer because it is in a whole other sub-forum instead of being in the rom thread.
If you are having issues with a rom, go to that thread and post your issue. Then when a fix is found, it is in the rom thread for future users to find.
I appreciate your frustration, but it is for the betterment of the community for the problems and fixes to be posted in the rom thread to which they pertain.
Thank you for understanding.
I would love to use the compass to change the direction streetview is facing to the direction I'm facing. My buddy has the iPhone 3GS & that is the one thing I miss on my G1. I love my G1 but I really want this.
Anyone else want this? Any good developers willing to build it???

are you sure you have your settings right, if you go to street view then enable compass you should be able to do that.
Hmmm... With the Maps update from the market I can't enable compass at all, is this a common issue?
EDIT: I should probly add that I'm on JACHero 2.5 & the option isn't there by default & I've tried DroidSans Tweak Tools to no avail

I'm on JACHero 2.6.3 and I have the option. You have to click on your location in the map and then the location menu will come up.
Hey guys
I switched to miui rom which is very Nice.
But there is a serious problem and I searched through forums but didn't find any answer.
The thing is that I don't find maps anywhere in this rom therefore I can't use GPS.
Am I missing something? Are there some hidden menus?
Thanks in advance
download maps from the market, its free.
gps works well for me, i also use GPSAids to improve it that little bit more.
Thanks for your anwser.
But unfortunatly, I had already done that before, and the thing is that I don't find Maps in the market? ( wth ).
Would you happen to know where this comes from ?
