well i got 2 questions ..
is there any way to see how Froyo decide wich apps/games could be moved to external SD card and wich not?
Since i would like to throw all apps on external SD..
i serch the WWW and ppl said that core apps you cannot move, but the rest you shuld be abel to move to external SD card.
and second .. well .. i just realize that when i enter settings my background is going black. Maybe since before i was having mostly black background and didint notice, so is that like normal or i ****ed up in some settings?
i made mistake .. when i said settings window i mean application window background ..
so can anyone just say when they enter application from home screen does they background goes black or not?
thx

i am noticing many settings/apps are not loading up when i restart my nexus. for example, the market doesnt show all my apps in the downloaded section, my swype and swiftkey isnt enabled (checkmarked in settings), and apps installed on card dont show up instantly (but not a biggie because they will all load up once nexus is fully powered up). is anyone else having these power up problems?

i found apps that should start up when froyo is loading up wont auto start if the apps are installed to SD. move these apps (like weatherbug elite, locale, mylock, meebo, live wallpapers, switch pro, y5, swype or any keyboards) to phone then run them. reboot the phone and they should all load up. took me some time to figure this out because after moving some apps they would show up as not installed but on another reboot they showed up fine. this solves the "why are my apps not auto starting on reboot/power up with froyo 2.2"

Kind of sounds like an issue with apps on the SD card maybe?
I'd maybe look at pushing those back onto internal storage to see if it has any effect on things. Any apps installed to the SD card will definitely not load instantly - the phone doesn't actually scan the SD card until the OS is pretty much fully loaded as I understand it.
Also, what he ^^^ said.
yes i dont mind them taking a while since they seem to load after the phone is fully powered up so not a biggie there. i will try what iammuze suggested

I'm thinking that I may have a bad SD card in my N1.
Current setup:
[email protected] [v2.8] MCR r19 MOD [FRF83]
Old style A2SD+
After a little while, in this case an hour or so, any app that is installed/moved to the SD card become inaccessible. The OS sees the app, sort of. Most of the time the link to an app disappears all together. Sometime there will still be a link to an app, but when I try to launch it, it says the app is no longer installed. I'll go into the app manager(settings, application, manage) and apps that were installed/moved to the SD card just show a generic SD card icon and I can't get any info for the app. I try restarting/force stopping the launcher (both LauncherPro and ADW) and sometime the apps will show up again and will work, sometime the icon will show but will not launch, and sometime the app are still gone. And eventually, I will not be able to see the SD card when hooked to my computer. On the flip side though, if I boot into recovery(RA 1.0.7), I can turn on USB-MS Toggle and I can copy to and from the SD card all I want.
I just a full wipe(factory reset, cache, dalvik, ext, battery, rotate) because I was having these problems before, and I was using the regular Froyo A2SD before, so I decided to us the old style A2SD+ this time to see if that fixed the problem, but it's still happening.
Again, I'm thinking bad SD card, but I'd like some other opinions/ideas/confirmations.
So no one has any thoughts on this?
How do i make use of my micro-sd 32GB external SD card ?
like can i take video's / movies and add to it ? or is it strictly for like putting music on etc. /
how do i make full use of it ? what can I put on it ? etc. ?
Use it however you like and put whatever you want on it. This is Android not iOS.
change storage settings when in the camera to SD card and you can use it from there.

I've had my phone for 3 months with it -- and it hasn't moved.
I'm asking why ?
I've taken tons of pics/video's - d/l tons of apps, etc.
But yet it's still at 31 GB or so
my question is WHY. How can I make it so that when i take vid's it goes to external SD ?

i think i answered that at the same time you sent this message. go to camera, change the settings, scroll to the end and change storage to memory card.
Hello guys. I really need to solve this annoying problem.
So here's what's going on. I have app2sd pro. I used it to move all of my movable apps to the internal sd card. It's 11gb and has 1.84 gb free.
So idk how but sd card keeps getting filled. But that's another problem. (if you know how to solve it please tell me. )
The main problem is. All of the apps on sd card somehow decide to disappear from app drawer.
Even when I search for them they don't come up. So I go to app2sd and here's what I find on sd card tab: "no movable applications found from the storage" wth does that mean?
Anyways i decide to restart and all apps come back. But within 1-2 hours all of them disappear again. Help!!!
Thanks!

I am not a whizz kid.
My Salsa quite often states I have to delete something , make more space , as it is nearly full, so I delete a photograph or two.
Is there a simple app that will move my photos to the SD card and if possible some of the apps too?
If I move the apps will they still work?
Thanks.

Photos are always moved to sd straight after they are taken.
As for space, move stuff to the sd by going to settings/applications
pick and app and if it allows moving then move it.
If your running low on space then get more. unlock your bootloader, root it and increase your memory. Loads of info in these boards, make use of it.
