you're supposed to go into download mode, not recovery mode.
adb download i believe is the command.
make sure you're download mode BEFORE you plug it into your computer with odin ALREADY open.

so u can pardon me Lol
now that i read it carefuly its fixed and i can enter recovery mode

Im trying to flash TalonDev kernel and im running XXJVH firmware (from kies).
Using 1.30 Odin and i am sure that KiesPDLR.exe and KiesTrayAgent.exe is closed.
Odin shows that phone is added and when im trying to flash it hangs at SetupConnection..
So im pulling the battery entering download mode and trying again but same problem.. im now stuck at this screen:

If anyone is able to help me i will gladly donate you a pizza
try a different usb port and if still it doesnt work , get a new cable.. that symbol generally indicates connectivity issues..
PS: RIGHT CLICK ON ODIN AND RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR..
I have tried different usb ports and running Odin as administrator, i am thinking about using another version of Odin, which one is to recommend?
Any other ideas?
Do you have the proper USB drivers installed? Try this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=961956
Are you flashing the kernel as PDA? Also, try using Odin3 v1.82: http://www.mediafire.com/?mp3dj37882a4a0z
use odin 1.82

Anyone?>
It looks like it is hung up on the factoryfs and NAND write part......there is only one explanation for that, it's bricked. You can try a thread in the General section about reviving but it may or may not work.
Other than that, you just have to get it to a Samsung center to replace the motherboard.

First try to update from your phone, go to Software Update section in settings and see if there is and update, if not, you just have to download your ROM here https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-note9/firmware/#SM-N960U, and then flash it with Odin.
Search for Odin Samsung in google, and you will find instruction, is easy.

Also to note... It got stuck a few times so I was forced to remove the battery from the phone during the process.
And then I ended up with this screen every time I try to boot my device with no clear way past it.
If you've experienced this or have any idea what to do please let me know.
Thanks!
