Interesting Problem with My I9000M - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So the only tweaks I have installed on my phone are the Voodoo Lagfix + Colour.
I was just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem. Essentially the phone will turn itself off (I think, it refuses to wake so I have to hold the power button until it reboots)
It happens if I have it in my pocket, have it on my desk, pretty much anywhere at random. It occasionally freezes on the main text messaging screen.
Just wondering if anyone knew why this was happening/ how to fix it.
EDIT - Disregard all this, just read through the entire comatose thread.

Tilt locks up unexepectedly

Recently, my Tilt started "locking up" unexpectedly -- it is non-responsive to key or button presses, or touch screen presses, but the bluetooth and wireless lights blink occasionally so it appears to be still "alive". I have to take out the battery to reset it.
This started happening about the time I started wearing it in a belt case. I suspect I am somehow pressing some combination of buttons or partly sliding open the keyboard hwen I take it out of the case, but I'm not sure (obviously). It doesn't happen every time, in fact only about one out of fifty times I remove it from the case, but it is still bothersome.
Perhaps someone else has experienced this or can guess as to the case? Or, perhaps there is a way to turn off all external controls so they cannot be accidentally pressed - while still giving me a way to quickly answer calls/texts?

Steve - If after following the help Harkadenn gave you you are still puzzled - please read the threads on lockups on the Tilt. You wil find these in the ROM sections.
Now - it is going to be necessary to know some if not all of the following information:
1. where are you - US - SE - NW - Italy?
2. what is your carrier?
3. what ROM version are you running
4. have you flashed any other ROMs? or are you running the original
5. what programs have you loaded?
I suspect that you are NOT pushing any buttons - that this is actually locking up on you.
Bill
i thought at first it was me, then i thought, it was the invisible shield i have on my kaiser, but no... it turned out to be HTC's rom that was freezing up.
I flashed dutty's rom, and hey presto, everythings quicker, no lock ups, touch screen reponds 100%!
Even flipping the keyboard out, the rotation is instant!

Question About screen unlocking linux text flash

I have searched this forum up and down looking for someone experciencing the same problem, but could not find anything. I am currently running myms warm donut, but this has happened to me on every build. When I lock the screen and then unlock, I get a quick flash of black linux text similar to when first booting up the phone. The text is instant, maybe a half a second. It flashes, then adroid gui comes back. I have tried different methods and can not resolve this isue (I find it pretty annoying). Does anyone have any info on this? Has anyone experienced this or is familier with what im talking about? Thanks for any help that anyone has. You guys do great work, keep it up!
Happens to me all the time. I just deal with it.
Yea, happens to me... not a big deal...
you're just seeing the kernel log, nothing to worry about.
I was afraid that this might be the case, there is no way around this, so the kernal log does not flash? Its not a big deal, I just find it annoying. Maybe instead of having text flash, maybe having a black screen flash, is that possible? Or this just common for everyone and deal with it?
I'm pretty sure this is a universal thing...never really bothered me that much.
I think it has to do with the order in which we power up the screen and relay the wake-up button press to Android.
[I think] In a standard Android configuration, the power button starts Android, which then powers up the screen.
However, we have the screen power directly tied to the power on button, in addition to waking up Android. The screen powers up before the android display manager does, causing you to see the command line.
Without re-designing the Vogue part of the kernel, there's no way around it.
This is also (I believe) why the screen is all-white when you first press it. There's no data.

[Q] Touchscreen errors when50 battery below 50%

When my battery falls below 50% my touchscreen begins to act weird. No matter what I select it chooses whatever option is at the bottom of the screen. I can occasionally get it to work if I reboot the device or open and close the keyboard about 10 times. Once it has been corrected it falls back to the odd behavior within about five minutes. I have established that this doesn't happen if the batter is above 50%, and if I charge the phone up only a few percent then the issue goes away.
The phone currently has Cyanogen 4.2.15.1
I'm stumped as to what could be causing this and was unable to find any similar postings on the forum. If this issue has been addressed in another thread I would greatly appreciate a link to said thread.
Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!
My G1 also has similar problem, the touch screen is totally not functioning, I still finding the cause but it's so annoying. When the touch screen is not working, I can't invoke the "Dialer" function, that means I can't dial. Also, when there's incoming calls, the dialer function can't pop up too. That makes my G1 can't be worked as a phone when touch screen is not working.

[Q] Known WP8 issues or hw defect? (ATIV S Neo)

Hi all. Got my first ATIV S Neo with Sprint a couple weeks ago, had graphical corruptions, and random reboots, replaced it for another.
This one works much better, but there are some issues I'm seeing (nitpicking?) and I'm not sure if I have another defective handset or if this is just WP8, or if this is common to just this handset. Came from an HTC arrive on WP7.5 and things were pretty stable.
1) Occasional live tile animation stuttering; If I, for instance, go into the messages hub, sometimes the live tile swing animation will lock for half a second and then immediately pop into the message hub. Happens loading other apps too.
2) Occasional lock screen weirdness;
2a) very rare; press power button, screen comes on, screen fades out like the phone lost power but not to backlight, then backlight shuts off, pressing the power button again, everything works fine.
2b) occasional; in a dark room, press the power button to wake to lock screen, press again to turn off. screen/backlight goes out, backlight comes back, then goes out, then quickly comes back and back out.
3) in IE, typing in the address bar, text input freezes as it brings up suggestions from bing. (type "google.com" and get "gole.com"). disabling search suggestions makes it go away.
4) Text notifications stop working; sometimes the text notification sound stops playing (vibrate remains working). Reboot corrects it. Have also had it where the vibrate alert goes away and not the sound.
Anyone else seeing these? Are these known or is this phone also messed up?
Haven't seen those on my (open-market GSM) ATIV S, but there were a handful of glitches when I first got the phone. Those were corrected in the first big fiormware update from Samsung in my case, but I had to wait a few months for it.

Thanks, that makes me feel a little more comfortable. These problems really don't feel like hardware to me, since they're fairly infrequent. I might have to stop by the sprint store and test the display model out a little.

[Q] Pull down notification bar problem...

I haven't found any other mention of this problem, so apologies in advance if this is already documented and I missed it. I thought I would see if anyone else is having this problem?
The issue is that the top of the touch screen stops working intermittently, preventing the notification bar from being pulled down. It's not just a notification bar problem, as buttons in that area don't work (Spotify in landscape mode, shuffle button for example).
The problem does go away after a forced reboot (up volume and power) but will eventually stop working again.
I've not noticed any pattern as to apps in use causing this.
Any ideas?
My phone is stock UK on Vodafone
version 4.2.2 (2.24.161.1)
Bump - same issue.
Mine works intermittently - some parts of the top of the screen some of the time...
Anyone else?
