On the Eclair build, i had an option to disable and enable Geotag in Camera. But now it's gone and all the time my photos and videos are being geotagged. How can i disable this?
Turn off the gps.
Then the cam don't use it.

If you are running one of the new Voodoo kernels that converts all of your partitions then no you do not have to disable it.

No, JL1 and this both work on Eclair builds. I've been running JL1 on Fusion 1.2 since it was released. I just flashed this JL5, no difference from JL1 for me. I've always had instant GPS locks.

Awesome! Good to know! I'll edit my post. Thanks!
Fastest data I've seen. Good throughput and low latency. Now if the battery life checks out, then we are golden
Update: Battery life seems to check out as well... Also, call quality on 3g is incredible. I've always had issues with my call quality to the other party. From my tests, I'm finally crystal clear... Best modem to date, in my opinion...

How do I get ext4 on my tmobile galaxy tab?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
From what I read koushes clockworkmod recovery converts your system to ext4. But I think its for vzw. I tried with my tmo tab and I could of sworn I stood at rfs. Not sure. But would love to see a voodoo kernal

Because it was not Samsung who was coding for the Nexus S! Nexus S has nothing to do with Samsung it is all done by Google! Only the hardware and its warrenty is related to Samsung. All firmwares/ROMs and Kernals will be released by Google and google only! This is why it is call a true google phone!
You can read about it on Theodore Ts'os blog.

Ext4 file system make read/write operations at least twice faster compare to RFS. It allows for file size exceeding 2GB as well. Besides it has journaling capabilty.
All this greatly reduces lags and glitches especially for video and when switching tasks that involves read/write operations.
My experience with ext4 on Vibrant is very positive.
RFS is fat16 or fat32 with a journal.
It is also proprietary to Samsung and no source code for it is released, so it is not very good for AOSP release. And in everyone's experience it performs like ****.
The RFS stack (probably storage.ko) also contains sector remapping/wear levelling module that implements stl on top of bml. So while it is easy to switch to extX on top of stl its gonna be much harder to implement it on top of raw mtd flash for .35 kernel on tab. The flash chip in Nexus S most likely has wear levelling built in. But on Tab it is done on software.

That is not always true. The problem is that quadrant can be "tricked" into a higher score (EXT2, EXT3). However, ext4 is a true "lag fix" and thus the performance gain is real. There is a "real world" gain after converting to EXT4. The problem as I understand it with the Tabs right now is that we don't know if it is actually working. Give it time and we will see the same progress as we see in the Galaxy S phone.....

You ned an i9000 modem with a i9000 kernel
That's if you use it with Cognition. Perception is an i9000 based ROM and doesn't have the issues. However, both Rogers and AT&T gimp HSUPA. And if BT works, HSUPA doesn't, and vice versa.

If you have battery drain issues, check your network traffic. My Gmail was pinging like crazy even when it was set to update at the longest interval. AOSP email fixed it. Feel free to PM if you need more info.

I'm on Paragon RC3, Both hsdpa and Bluetooth works well. Take a look.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=915698
working fine in the rom in my signature
So I mistakenly installed the i9000 voodoo lagfix kernal.......problem is.no voice calls on my phone. I'll tell what state my phone is currently in, and where i'd like to be, and any help i can get would be greatly appreciated.
Current State:
Firmware Version 2.2
Baseband Version I897UCKB1
Kernel Version 2.6.32.9
Build number Froyo.UCKB1
Phone build 1006
rooted/shell rooted/market enabled with SuperOneClick
I disabled the voodoo lagfix but still have the I9000 kernel apparently (splash screen and no voice calls)
Where I want to be:
Stock Froyo
Rooted (which I know how to do)
Voodoo Lagfix built on captivate kernel, not I900 (because I like to talk on my phone)
That's all I want. Odin1click seems to not want to work for me anymore, unless I'm apparently doing something wrong in my method of operation.
I cannot seem to find a stock Froyo rom? Maybe I just don't know how to search the forum, because I can't ever seem to find anything very easily.
Please someone help me, this is my only phone, and I had to borrow a laptop for the night, to fix my phone.
well........nevermind, imagine, after a giant pitcher of amberbock and a shot.......
first thing i do when i come home is get the correct kernel with voodoo lagfix installed
wtf. no more I9000! So I think I got to where I wanted all by myself, well i mean I didn't make all the oneclicks but you guys know what I mean!
edit: i did a quadrant, I feel I have the stock kernel installed but not lagfix as my quadrant is only 900 something? doesn't seem right cosidering
i was close to 1800 before on i9000 *sigh* Still would like to find a stock ATT FROYO rom Just in case
Quadrant means nothing. I ran two benchmarks one after each other with the same setup and got 900 and 1500. It only looks big when you compare it.

Just look for the voodoo folder. If it is there then it is installed. As for your scores that seems about right for a stock Tom, the i9000 Tom's will always be faster as they are more updated

Yeah that was for the universal lag fix. Not voodoo. As long as it is there and no disable lag fix folder then you are good. It would not have carried over as the stock flash wiped it when you flashed the update. Not sure if he is as he doesn't have the device. And they are building kernals on more updated stuff then 2.2. Only time will tell if he does. I am more looking coward to the 2.3 port lol
