How do I update my stock samsung apps that came with the phone? For example, google maps is installed on the phone by default but when I go to the market I don't have the option to update it.. I have to search for the app and then it only gives me the option to install it

Hi,
I recently updated my galaxy to froyo using kies.
Before the update i had 13 apps available through samsungapps. After the update i had only 6. I lost the facebook app in there.
Is there any way to be able to recover those "lost" apps
Thanks.

I have another question... Srry
Ever since I am using cm 5+ I am having problems with the google apps updating. I know I have to install the google addon with every cm update but I can never update the google apps after that. Is that normal? It always says update unsuccessful...
Other apps also seem to have troubles updating, but that could be for different reasons.
So once more is it normal for eg gmail not to update?
Thx

This has been asked a lot. Delete the apk from /system/app , reboot, install from market.
Thx

Hey guys
I'm using a rooted Galaxy Mini/Pop Plus GT S5570i (Android version 2.3.6 Gingerbread) running Repencis 3.5 Advanced ROM.
Recently I updated my Gmail App which is usually a system app. After update I opened link2sd n for the Gmail app I selected the action 'integrate update into system'. This made the app force close every time so I uninstalled the app(pls note that it is a system app by now). Then I tried to reinstall the Gmail app from Market and they said 'Duplicate Provider Authority'.
Please Help.

Install again link2sd then deselect 'integrate update into system'. Start Gmail. If it's not working, delete Gmail from system/app with a file manager that supports root and install it from Play Store. The final solution is to do a factory reset,or to reinstall the ROM.
wipe Gmail app's data from settings
Is there a way to permanently disable automatic updates to Google Play Store application? The Stock ICS ROM with the latest version of Google Play gives me problems and if I uninstall the updates to the stock version problems are solved. However, next time I start Google Play, it self updates itself again to the latest version and I have the same problem. On previous Android versions like Gingerbread, all needed was just to delete the MarketUpdater.apk, and problem solved.. but with ICS & JP that file doesnt exist anymore. I have no idea what forces the Google Play (Phonesky.apk) to keep updating itself. Thanks for the advice!!!!!
Go to Google play and then settings you can turn off auto updates.

Click to collapse
That turns off auto updates for the installed apps, not the Google Play app that still gets updated
Hello,
I just upgraded to stock JB using heimdall, I got the ROM that matches with my CSC code (which is XSG) from samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-N7000 , which is that ROM
It seems that the flashing was successful. Yet after I booted some apps always crash:
Google Play
S Note (that's important since there are notes that I have done using this app that I need to access)
Learning Hub
Whenever I boot the phone I get the error message that "Google Play have stopped". Any help ?

رد: Google Play, SNote crash after upgrading to stock JB
I managed to fix Google Play issue by uninstalling updates to Google Play from the settings->applications
