Hey guys
I'm using a rooted Galaxy Mini/Pop Plus GT S5570i (Android version 2.3.6 Gingerbread) running Repencis 3.5 Advanced ROM.
Recently I updated my Gmail App which is usually a system app. After update I opened link2sd n for the Gmail app I selected the action 'integrate update into system'. This made the app force close every time so I uninstalled the app(pls note that it is a system app by now). Then I tried to reinstall the Gmail app from Market and they said 'Duplicate Provider Authority'.
Please Help.

Install again link2sd then deselect 'integrate update into system'. Start Gmail. If it's not working, delete Gmail from system/app with a file manager that supports root and install it from Play Store. The final solution is to do a factory reset,or to reinstall the ROM.
wipe Gmail app's data from settings

How do I update my stock samsung apps that came with the phone? For example, google maps is installed on the phone by default but when I go to the market I don't have the option to update it.. I have to search for the app and then it only gives me the option to install it

delete it using Root Explorer. its in /system/app/. you can probably delete it with Titanium Backup too. Astro doesnt have root permissions.

If Titanium Backup doesn't remove it for you try Super Manager with root access enabled it its settings menu
Latest gmail 2.3.2 apk
Just place onto your sdcard and then install.
Works fine on a Samsung Galaxy S i9000
Yes. it is very simple. And I find this always works:
Install the new version, if it fails, reboot the phone or restart the Java VM. Do the install again. Done.
I have the same problem with the last apk of Gmail and with Launcher Pro Plus.
I have solved both in the same way, deleting the original with SUBFS or another root explorer.
i have the same problem.
then,i take a gmail APP form CM 6.1 to install...
i'll done~
try it!
guess this is still for 2.2 only? i've seen various threads on other forums claiming there's a 2.1 version goin around and im not sure if it's modded or not
Is there any way to get old market (2.x.x) back on CM 7?
Not sure if it works on CM 7, but normally just go to manage apps, find the market/market updater and select uninstall updates. Then disable the market updater
^^^ works on superOSR which is cm7 based

If the uninstall method doesn't work, you could look for the *.apk of the old market and install it.
@nwsk
thx i was also lookiing how can disable the updater because the new market its too slow
You can delete it from system/app using root explorer (or similar), or freeze it using titanium backup.

That's why I wrote "Try".
Anyhow, just tested on my phone (didn't install/update anything since I updated to Market 3.4.4) ... "Google Translate" downloaded and installed perfectly.
How did you install the Market update? Through the CWM flash of Eagleeyetom or did you manually replace the apk?
EDIT: I replaced the APK in /system/app manually, set the permissions and cleared the app's data and cache before I rebooted.
I install witch apk

I suggest you to download this version 2.3.4 market its old but it is smooth i use this version for a long time .
Disconnect from wifi connection and put the app in system/app , set permissions to
V V O
V O O
V O O
Then use Titanium Backup and freeze the "Market Apps Installer 1.1" and "Market Updater 1.0" so market will not update by itself to a newer version.
If you done it right you will be able to download again.
If you cant see your apps in "applications" section at the new market install one random app from there and apps that you had installed will appear again.
Hello,
I just upgraded to stock JB using heimdall, I got the ROM that matches with my CSC code (which is XSG) from samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-N7000 , which is that ROM
It seems that the flashing was successful. Yet after I booted some apps always crash:
Google Play
S Note (that's important since there are notes that I have done using this app that I need to access)
Learning Hub
Whenever I boot the phone I get the error message that "Google Play have stopped". Any help ?
