Phone Number Format: How to change? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

In Brazil the following phone number format is used:
+cc-aa-nnnn-nnnn (c = country, a = area code, n = phone number)
Although I bought my phone here the phone number is in the US standard: + cc-aaa-nnn-nnnn. Is there a way to change that?
Btw... I'm using English as device language.

You'll need to change locale (Settings -> Locale and Text -> Select locale) from English US to something else. Try English UK if you need to use English as device language.

Thanks Scott...
I've used Windows Mobile for years and trust me, I couldn't be happier with Android. But I think the only thing I'll miss is the possibility to fix such things in the registry
[EDITED] - I just check your suggestion. It works but it changes the overall language on the device. That is not what Iḿ looking for. I really wanted to be able to keep English and set some kind of preference for the phone number formal

I'm still looking for the same solution. Any idea?

solved so fast.
I've downloaded and isntalled this app. There are some options as number formats. I used the most appropriate one for my country and it works like a charm now!

[Free][GAME]WordDrop

Hello,
I've published my first windows phone game, hurray!
It's called WordDrop, an free off-line Wordament variant with different modes, Survival, Drop, Versus and Classic. Below it the official game description.
A word game like Boggle or Wordament but with a TWIST! The letters keep dropping! Play against a time limit, survive the flood or play classic mode. Local multiplayer, online leaderboards, languages English, German, French, Dutch, Russian and Italian supported.
Drop: find as many words as you can within the time limit. Found words are removed and new letters will fall from above, resulting in faster and more dynamic gameplay. You can use bombs to destroy difficult letters.
Survival: every few seconds, new letters fall from above. Like Tetris, the game is over when the letters reach the top. Make sure to remove them by finding words. You can use bombs to destroy difficult letters.
Classic: play a default boggle game.
Versus: play drop-mode against your friends on the same cellphone!
The game supports offline and online leaderboards using Mogade. Only your best score will be uploaded. No need to register, only the phone id and an input name is used.
For now, the supported languages are: English, German, French, Dutch, Russian and Italian. Use the feedback option in the game to request new languages. Some languages are not well tested. For example, none of our happy testers speaks Russian. If you come across mistakes, please let us know using the feedback option in the main menu and we will correct it as quickly as possible.

I do not have this problem on my phone.
Do you have problems calling or texting the contacts that are added in this way?
Kind regards, Stefan.

Stefan,
No problems calling or texting.
If I edit the contact removing the double dash, it returns after edition. If I look on Google Contacts on my computer there is no issue.
Thanks
Laco.
I realize this happen with numbers with 9 digits plus area code (in Sao Paulo, Brazil, we have 9 digits cell phones numbers).

Just added the contact: 011988883333 and saved it without dashes here.
When I edit the contact also no dashes are present.
I see you say you are from Brazil.
Could you try to add the contacts with your country code +55 infront of them?
Just to see if it saves the number with dashes aswell?
Think the correct number would be: +5511988883333
For example myself Iam from the Netherlands and mobile numbers are 10 digits long:
0612345678 adding my country code +31 the number would look like: +31612345678
Also: Do you save your contacts as local contacts or?
I do save them local myself.
Kind regards, Stefan.
Stefan
Thanks for your reply.
I registered the number with +55 and the "double dashes" appears too.
I am in Brazil but my phone is from UK and I am using UK English as default language. Is the number format related with language? Based on what you said your phone does not format the number you typed.
My contacts are on Google Contacts and there the number is fine like on my iPhone I sync too.
Regards

What’s in the Box?
Think of the Gboxapp as a jack-in-the-box, in which there are many goodies that await your discovery. Whether its utilities or games you want to make use of, this box has what you need. When you first download it from the Gboxapp website, there are about 16 various applications that are ready for use. One example is the calculator, which obviously does not require any explanation with its purpose. If you are looking to cut down on what you eat, there is also a calorie calculator app in the box. Now, if you’re stressed out from work and want to sit back and relax, you can play the classic Pacman game in it as well. These apps are just scratching the surface as there are so many more functions with this box.

Is my device a prototype?

So, I have two of these T-Mobile devices. One of them originated from australlia, and another one has an unknown origin. So, the one with unknown origin makes me think that it is a prototype model. It has a weird custom android 1.6 firmware, and it lacks any safety notes, model names and notes in general under the battery, while the second one is bloated with them. I will attach a photo of both devices side by side on this thread. (the one with minimal text is what im curious about)

Instead of a prototype, it may be a clone (IDK).
Can you what do you mean with "weird custom android 1.6 firmware"? That's the only really useful info.
maybe it was made by a unknown man. all of that pieces taked from different places (ex: locations like one for a samsung board or nand memory). if you know about repair the entire device of something i can think you will know what happens really easy.

Question HK S21 Version Samsung Keyboard

Hello,
is it possible to switch the HK Version of the Samsung Keyboard to the EU (german) Version, that i can use Keyscafe?
I got the SM-G9980.
Yes, go to Settings, General Management, Samsung Keyboard Settings, Language and types, Manage input languages then search for Deutsch.
The problem is, i got an SM-G9980 snapdragon Hongkong-Version.
I switched the language to Deutsch, but i can't use Keyscafe, because the layout stays in china/HK.
Keyscafe doesn't work with china/HK-layout.
Ended up switching for Gboard since the SM-G9980 factory keyboard was a piece of **** that occupied half the screen.

Why not resize?
I also have an HK version, but Keys Cafe doesn't work for me when I customize the effects or change some layout.

You can't resize below a certain point, and that's still way too much I like for a keyboard.

My Taiwan model was not usable at first, but I changed the area code to HK, and then it became usable. Maybe you want to check CSC

After my test, keyscafe of model 9980 chc and bri are not available, but tgy (hongkong) is available
For those that weren't aware I remember a very big thread about this on the Note 20 U forums. Last I remember the stock Samsung keyboard couldn't be changed to the one that is on the non CH or HK models.
