Hi All,
First off: You guys & gals Rock! Excellent info and help.
To the point:
I have searched,
I have not found
I have a captivate with froyo (as described by DG on these forums).
I have rooted (SuperOneClickv151-ShortFuse),
clockworked,
titanium backup'd
uninstalled the bloat-ware
(in my best Yul Brynner imitation)Etc Etc Etc
BUT the shortcuts to YP Mobile and NOOK remain (even though they are uninstalled)
How do I delete those links?
Thanks again,
Digitronically yours,
Salty

I'm new here and i first got the tilt, and i was talking to an ATT employer and he was telling me about the xda developers. so i check it out and so far its awesome but the problem is...I cant firgure out how to do this. so CAN anyone guide me step to step by doing the tilt personalization??? i would greatly appericated it and is it free?...
Hi and welcome.
This site is completely free as is all the ROMs and programs created (with the exception of a few unlockers).
It depends what type of personalisation your after...
Replacing the ATT ROM with a "Cooked" ROM?
-Read the wiki: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_Kaiser for more information and the Sticky posts.
Installing new Applications?
-Just download them, copy to your device and install them.
Changing the theme?
-Each theme varies and has usually has dependecies on other software. All I can say is Read.
My best advice is to read other peoples guide's and other peoples common questions and things will fall into place.

Hi,
today I have rooted my Galaxy S and I want to remove some of those default apps, is there a better list than this one:
http://samsunggalaxysforums.com/sho...ications-safe-to-uninstall-on-rooted-Galaxy-S
It seems too little because Ive had Xperia X10 till yesterday and dumped it because I got tired of waiting for Eclair etc and Xperia could remove much more apps than Galaxy S according to this list.
Tnx

Yes, there is a quite good topic about it here. Try to search (sorry, dont remember the name of thread - cant help you).
Or use Doc's ROM. Very good and removes crapware for you.
Tnx but I cannot find it. I really would like that someone writes the list here and make that post STICKY because we need those apps listed in a sticky thread coz everyone who roots his Galaxy will remove some of those preinstalled apps, and I mean EVERYONE. Admins, please consider this.
Tnx
I didn't.. In fact, I haven't even rooted my phone, because I realised that there was no real benefit for myself to do so..
Also, I think Launcherpro can now hide apps if you wish (reducing the need to root further)...
i'll try to post my list one of these days
i've removed aprox 20 apps from the Stock ROM using Titanium Backup after rooting
I successfully updated to Cognition 2.3b6, but forgot to backup my apps (as instructed).
Does anyone have the full suite of Quickoffice that comes with ATT Captivate? I forgot to backup mine and the version that is available on Market is not the full version (based on my assessment).
Thanks
if you have the AT&T Captivate, it is free in the market. or you can revert to a "stock" build and pull the apk.
on top of that, this is not development related, please keep questions like this to Q&A or General.
this is getting ridiculous ..
Q&A no?

I posted this Need old quick office for captivate. days ago.
Time for a new poster quiz.
Thanks everyone.
Sorry for the Noob blunder of posting in the wrong forum.
I know better... ..Seriously..
Hi mates,
I have recently updated my JPY SGS with darky's 9.3 and speedmod k13c.
Everytime I delete a sms thread an empty thread is added by that name at the end with date 1 Jan 1970. These cannot be deleted.
When I was with darky's 9.2 it was never happened
Any way around this annoying addition?
Thanks a lot,
Andrea
Thanks!
Solved by myself....hope it could be useful for all.
I have installed Clear All SMS & MMS (free from market) and cleared all sms, the only one that can do it really.
Next, restored the backupped sms.
Tried with deleteing a thread and no more errors!
Cheers,
A.
YAY!!!! Thank you. I was having the same problem. I get Facebook text alerts and each one creates a new thread. I was up to 200 threads and couldn't delete any. Thanks for posting!!!
THX man. this work to me
Hello guys!
I currently own an Optimus 4x, which is not rooted. I have, however, flashed to 10H.
First of all. I have read many many threads about rooting and many other things.
BUT, i haven't found many resumed threads. everything seems to be scattered around the forum.
And i am having a lot of trouble with my battery. It seems to end too fast, and i've been reading around the forum and found out that many people are having the same problems. But i can't seem to find an actual solution. So i guess rooting is the way to go first of all.
And i have some questions:
First: What worries me the most.. Let's say i have 10H rooted and with all my apps backed up by some titanium pro thing and (god(lg people) hear us) jelly bean comes out. Now, when i flash the jelly bean update i will have to do factory wipe, flash, root and factory wipe. Now everything is gone. So now i will have to freeze/unninstall bloatware, install my apps, reconfigure my system settings, re-arrange my home screens and everything else? And what about the settings and things i backuped up with my "titanium proish" app? Will they work the same even though i updated the firmware? When i say jelly bean, i'm just exagerating. Let's say its a 10I firmware.
Second: What can i backup and restore? What apps do that?
Third: What are the great advantages/uses for a rooted optimus 4x phone? And what are the best apps to do those things
Fourth: Are there good free root-needed apps to do those things?
Fifth: What is the best app to underclock our phone? Is it safe? Do you guys use it? And what about the battery calibration thing. Do you guys use it?
I know most of these questions have answers somewhere. Don't bother answering if you don't want to. I just thought to make a good thread on those topics which i have always had questions about. And obviously this would be a topic directed to the optimus 4x. It's just that people don't seem to give the same answer to the questions. So i usually am not sure of what to do. Anyways, if there is some good thread on it, please point it out to me.
Thank you!!

Yes, yes, yes.
Almost everything. (Almost)
You can "tweak" your phone, you can hack games with gameguardian (like a cheat engine)
Yes, if you can find them. Titanium backup pro is still the best for most things.
Don't bother about those (insert nasty word here) now. Its not the time yet.
