Hey all. Since Eugene's Froyo Roms support bootanimations.zip, let the bootanimation mods begin.
The one i am using now, is R2D2, ripped from a Droid2 in this link:
http://www.droid-life.com/2010/09/08/download-official-r2-d2-droid-2-boot-animation/
The original DL link is dead so you will need to use this one.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=K03CII0G
It says it is tweaked to work on the D1, but it works like a champ on my vibrant.
enjoy
Not my fault if this kills your phone.
How to:
1: Find and download the bootanimation.zip you would like to use.
2: using root explorer(or whatever you want) go to /system/media/ and either backup/rename/remove bootanimation.zip
3: place the bootanimation.zip that you want to use in /system/media
4: reboot and watch the animation goodness.

Note: This is NOT my rom. I am just posting it on this forum. It was made Htcclay. (twitter: http://twitter.com/#!/htcclay)
I have NOT flashed it and am NOT responsible for any issues you might have with your phone.
The ROM is based on Nero V3.
It is has the JL5 modem.
It has voodoo, which is disabled by default.
TeamWhiskey have allowed it
Sombionix: "@htcclay sent you a message. feel free to use nero 3"
Am reserving the first post for the Actual developer if they feel like posting. If they dont will put up any Screens possible.

Warning: before ROMing i would advise that you odin back to stock and deactivate all lagfixes/kernels.

* High fives everyone
I ran this ran this rom for awhile and while I cant post any screens because I'm currently running nero 4,I can tell you this is a great rom.heavily themed, slightly modified version of nero3,has voodoo kernel, disabled by default.this rom is amazingly fast and stable, and beautiful.I may go baxk to it till nero5 arrives. If your fimiliar with htcclay and his super series feom other devices, you know what to expect.
If you guys are interested, there is an .apk file I have that I can give you the link to. It is not my apk, and I haven't even installed it, but it could be an awesome app that might be amazing to use with this ROM. I don't have any screenshots of it (I need my phone to work so can't install things that might be a virus) but maybe one of you guys could install it and post some screenies!
Oh yeah, almost forgot, HIGH FIVE!
well i did the research and it is based off of nero v.3
i have not seen screens for it but supposedly it is a rom
from wildfire ported to sgs vibrant
flashing...... will post screenies in a bit

I have to ask...why didn't HTCClay post it here himself. I'm not trying to challenge the legitimacy of the rom or anything, I'm just curious.

Its jl5,its basically nero3 themed, and your mistaken about htcclay workin on other galaxy s variants.he had a vibrant for a short period and made this rom,but his main focus is on hd2 right now with the super hd series, but he also made some memorable rom for g1 and mt3g,such as superfast, fastclean, superbad, fasttest, and the original super d.
Rename to "bootanimation.zip" then just use adb to push these to /data/local dont need to edit desc.txt is setup at 800 x 480 for better fit screen size
Make sure to backup you bootanimation.zip before applying this just incase you wanna go back to it...
This is my first boot animation please test to see if everything is running fine
i just edit some pictures so credit goes to someone else i dunno who created the file i downloaded from google sorry if im breaking any rules.. first timer

Honeycomb Boot Animation Dell Streak 7
I was a ginuea pig and tried it. Quick, but it works...
Here is the Sweet HoneyComb Animation.
Just as the originator of this thread, rename to "bootanimation.zip" and adb push to /data/local
My device IS rooted and running the 'slimmed' down version of stock OS BTW....
-------Prob needs to be rooted for this to work but not sure.

-I'm not sure what you mean by the "xda boot animation."
-I have not tried anything like that either way. Lol.
-You tried to flip the images? Like rotate them? I know this animation does not take up the complete screen since it is taken from the Atrix I believe...
Very cool guys! Thanks for posting these. I'm trying them out now.
Fyi guys. Not sure about stock builds, but on any of Steve's roms I'm pretty sure you can just put one of these on your memory card and then use a file explorer to move it to system/media. No need for adb.
Edit: You'll still need to rename it to bootanimation.zip of course.

Hey Everyone!
This was requested in another thread so me and my friend Illinois08 decided to help the cause because we love XDA and this is to support them!
We pulled the images for the animation from here: Youtube
All the credit for the actual animation goes to XDA TV! If I knew an actual person I would put them!
All Illinois08 and myself did was pulled the images and added our own touches and put it all in a flashable zip for everyone with sound!
I hope everyone enjoys and please remember that XDA is an Awesome community and XDA deserves all the credit!
Preview in second post!
Instructions:
Download zip.
Place on SD.
Flash from recovery.
Reboot!
Sorry for the size! We couldn't make it any smaller so it is 21 mb.
NOTE not for gingerbread yet! Custom ROM EC05 until 2.3 supports bootanimation.zip...

No... I do not think any gingerbread roms support system/media for bootanimation.zip yet. We have to wait until a kernel is made with support. Stock samsung software is weird and doesn't even go off bootanimation.zip.
Unless he changed it which he may have already modded but not that I have seen.
If you try you make experience force closes after push...
