You can start by telling us which lagfix you have.

Lets say voodoo, i wanted to flash a rom that has it
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App

Disable lagfix
1. Mount phone on computer (connect it so that you see its two card, one internal, one external if you have one).
2. Navigate to the Voodo folder on the internal SDCARD (there should be only one of the two cards that has this folder)
3. Create a file (or folder) named "disable-lagfix", no extensions. (right click -> new-> new file or folder)
4. Unmount your cards from the computer.
5. Shut phone OFF.
6. Turn back on.
As found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=784170
Explain to me why I found something in 1 minute that you couldn't find all day?

I would add this... give the phone and os time to do it's business. Converting data too/from ext4 takes a few min. Have heard a lot of folks soft bricking by not allowing time for the data conversion process, thinking their phone was locked up and pulling the battery. It's not. Wait it out.

I guess you know ur way around the forum lol well thanx anyway i will write it down somewhere

Voltage Control problems

I have a problem with configuring the mV on Voltage control. When ever I set it, which is usually (from top to bottom) 25;50;75;100;125;125 on noop. I got those from someone else but they work well so I kept them. Anyways when I try to set them they never stay that way. No matter if I reboot after saving boot settings or set them temporarily and close the app, when I go back into the app, they all go back to zero. Can anyone help me? I'm on firefly with an overclock kernal that I don't know the name of. My battery is bleeding fast, like 1 percent every two minutes which is ridiculous. could it possibly be a bad kernal?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
After u save settings in the voltage control app:
1. Go to /system/etc/init.d
2. Make the folder rw, if it is in ro mode
3. Check for file that was created by voltage scheduler app
4. Rename that to S99_volt
5. Change the folder back to ro (optional)
Your voltage settings will now stick on reboot.
Its a dumb question but where is that? I cant find a system folder in my files

Hmmm. You need to install a file manager that has root access, something like root explorer.
I already had root explorer and I did those steps just in case. But now my wifi doesn't work. I can connect to my neighbors wifi, just not mine. I tried resetting ether phone and the router but no luck? Thanks.

[Q] old stock android keyboard in 2.3.x

Ok, I have searched high and low, and found nothing, I want my good old android stock keyboard in gingerbread. I have found a hundred ways of putting the gb one on everything, even a psp, but not the other way around. Can someone build an apk, or a zip to do this? I am having such trouble getting use to the gb keyboard.
So, im asking for the old default androind keyboard in the new 2.3.X
Thank you
I'm not understanding. Stock is there for me. Imputed method>gingerbread. Keyboard=stock

I think he means the keyboard that was in 2.1 (or 2.2).
Correct me if I'm wrong OP.
Yes, the one on 2.1 and 2.2. I hate this gb one, space bar is so small!

I'm thinking you could always pull it out of the 2.2 Froyo ROM zip that is around here.
Should be in system/app (I think).
You can use 7zip to pull it directly as a zip instead of unzziping, getting it and rezipping.
Once you got it, just put it on your sd card and install.
I can't promise it will work cause the framework is different on GB ROMs but it's worth a try. The worse you'll get is a "Can't install error".
Oh, I got it. And it even installs. But I don't know where it goes, Or where supposed to go in gb. Cause it didn't show up in the settings section.

It should install in system/app
I believe you should be able to change it under settings -> local and text.
It's trying to put files in /meta-inf, system/app and system/ lib. it says its installing, but i show no evidence of it.

Que?
what is trying to put files where?
meta-inf is in cwm zip files, it's the flashing instructions for cwm? There is no folder on the phone called that.
I'm confused
Lets start over shall we,
What you have to do is open the zip, either unzip with native windows tools or just open the archive in 7zip. Take out the keyboard apk you want out of /system/app and the corresponding lib file in /system/lib. Put those in the same folders on the phone, either push them with adb or drop them in with root explorer, and reboot.
Still no guarantee it'll quirk on gingerbread though...
The above mentioned directory is the folders in the zip file that when opened it will write to on extraction. On earlier roms, 2.2.x, i flashed it via cw as an update.zip. Apparently this doesn't work with 2.3.x. Do i have a file that is really old?

It sounds like this should be fixable, but could you please provide more information on your current setup (Android version, if it's a custom ROM, etc).
As far as getting ROMs and CWM to your phone, you may want to try downloading the roms/modded recovery on a PC (if one is available), then move them over to your phone. If everything was formatted and you're having trouble using root explorer, it might just be easier to do it that way.
Before today my phone was fine, it displayed downloads that I've done etc. I was trying to install a downloaded rom thru cwm but it didn't display "install from sdcard" with in cwm. I than clicked format sdcard for some dumb reason and It put me in my current state.

I see that you're on your phone now, which answers the question of whether or not you can boot, so that's good. If you've formatted your Internal SD card (which it sounds like you did - did it get rid of all your files on the phone?), you could probably just do a Titanium backup of what you still have and reinstall your ROM (assuming you're on a custom rom). That would likely correct the issue.

Assuming that it wasn't deleted in the format, I'd recommend reflashing whatever rom you're on and restoring your apps from Tibu.
the tibu backup is no more it would have been deleted when he formatted. look in your browsers settings for the default download directory. or make a folder on your sdcard called downloads and set it to there as default....

Yep, my back up is gone. I went to the download directory and all downloads in there say download unsuccessful, I than went to sdcard in root exploror and created a folder named download. I tried saving a few Google pics and they still come up download unsuccessful, I even tried downloading a file from xda and its not in my new download folder. That appeared to work, I saved a random picture and it was saved in my new download folder. But when I try and download the modded e3 signature file (which is what I've been trying to do) I see a quick download meter start and finish, after its done I can select close or open, if I click open I'm brought to rom manager with an install prompt were I can select or de-select a few things, than I'm put into recovery but it dkesnt show any place to install from sdcard. Well after many wipes/formats and every thing else I finally have everything working.
I can verify that multiple cache wipes, dalvik wipes and system formats do the job.
I'm not sure exactly how many I done but it was a lot.
I just sit there and wiped, formatted, wipe, format, wipe, format so on and so on and it finally took, I even installed 3 times over and over each other.
The ROM works great.
All the phones might have the same parts and look the same, but for some reason they don't act the same.

[TOOL] 1Click_CWR

I have made a small utility that will install CWR on the LG thrill. Untested on the optimus 3D....
Thanks to designgears for outlining the original procedure in this tread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1257588
WARNING:
Your warranty is now void.
I take no responsibility for bricked, dead, or unresponsive phones. If you are uncomfortable using this tool, then DON'T. Furthermore, I created this utility for my phone, and decided to share it with the community.
This utility was coded in c# in a windows 7 environment. I can only speak to this working on windows 7. If it works on XP, great; but I only tested it on my windows 7 system. Confirmed working in XP by: gentzleon
Before you begin:
Phone must be rooted!!! Look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1251663
Must have an SD card in the phone.(This is used for the storage of the recovery backup)
Drivers MUST be installed! ( Direct Link: Here)
Instructions:
1). Plug phone into computer via USB cable.
2). Turn on USB Debugging mode
3). Launch 1click_CRW with admin privilages (right click->run as Administrator)
4). Enjoy
Notice
Because people have different computer speeds and the fact I wrote this in 10 minutes, there is a pause between each command. Just click 'ok' when the popup messages says waiting.....Its fool proof.
ALSO: I did not put any error checking in it because I did not feel the need. I created this for fun and decided to share it.
If you see an error from ADB like no devices found, make sure your drivers are installed and restart the computer.

Freaking sweet. I was hoping to find something easier to do this with that having to go through the other method to flash GB Roms. That is what this is for right?
All those having problems installing, make sure all your permissions to /data are checked-(all 9) if not you will not be able to install recovery...
To set permissions you must;
Have root explorer or the free app ES file explorer.
---Navigate to /data and press and hold
---Select properties
---you will see at the bottome where it says permissions an option to change
--- Select change and make sure all are checked.,
---click out, reboot phone and it should all work..
There have been instances where the folder will change back permissions or not save the new permissions so just perform it again... Enjoy the 1 click CWM Now If this could be included in the script it will make it fool proof.....

I think I may change this app and create it in a windows form...I will have a button that follows the same procedure as it does now, and a second button to fix permissions..However, should I have it apply the permission change to the entire /data? Seems unsafe to me, but I'm paranoid.
Also, work has been long, and my wife and I are in the final process of buying a new house. So that is why I haven't been on much.
Figured it out thanks for this tool

I can confirm this works on the p920 (or at least a p925 flashed over to a P920). I've done it on two phones.
