hi all,
just got my captivate two days ago (coming from a nexus and iphone 4), and so far I love it. first thing I did was flash 2.2 beta that's floating around. does anyone else who has done this experience their music stuttering when unlocking the phone? mine does this using the stock music player and winamp. tia!

I noticed music stuttering in the past, regardless whether I used the default player or ^3(Cube) player. I believe this issue is solved by applying any of the usual lag fixes.
In my case, I'm running Cognition Rom 2.2 Beta7 with OCLF from the market. Haven't noticed any stuttering since applying the fix, but I don't listen to music all too often.

What is your favourite Android music player? I'm trying to fish for a new one due to my stock music player being crap, and Winamp getting boring.
Is there a better player than Winamp, or is it the best by far? I am not just talking by what's on the market, custom ROM apps are fair game too.
Try PowerAmp.
The one from Honeycomb, if it worked.
Otherwise the one from Cyanogen 5.

I like using the Doubletwist widget myself. I have used Miui and like that player as well.
Winamp! Both on my phone and PC

Honeycomb is crashing. So the Cyanogen 5 one, why 5 and not 6.1?

Where can I find a working APK for this? I tried the one from the latest MIUI release (that had to be put in system/app to even install) froze whenever I wanted to enter playlists.
Also, on a side note, is there an APK from HTC Sense?

Whichever one is after they added the new nice graphics, but before the bundled and completely awful video player.

See if this will work.
I'm a big fan of DoubleTwist. Nice widgets too.

It has last.fm support and synchronized lyrics. All you could want from a music player.
PowerAMP has the best features IMO. Best lock screenwidget , best headset control system, and best UI.
Winamp has a good start but it has not had an update in like 2 months? It has some deal breaking bugs for me, the major one being I cant answer a call if using lockscreen widget.
Poweramp is amazing and a wonderful widget.
The cm music player is best imo. Fantastic widgets.

They don't work, though! I am now using "Music Mod" from the Market, which is CM's music app, updated on a regular basis by its develooer. As far as I've tried, only the 4x2 works consistently... It's a waste, I like the 4x4. This is after 2 increments of bug fixes; CM is still on 1.6 while the market is on 1.8.
MIUI came with my latest ROM install, it is obscenely laggy...
EDIT: Why does everything fail once I post about its brilliance on XDA? 4x2 widget broke...

i actually really like the clean interface of doubletwist, airsync, and it's nice widget looks

I'm running miui, and was running serendipity 7, with both roms when I turn the screen off my sound via headphones does too, bluetooth and the phones speakers work fine. I have returned to stock multiple times with Odin3 one click, with it never being fixed. Anyone else have this problem, I searched a few times and haven't found a solution.

Ive searched high and low and flashed the galaxy s stock music player it was a no go, i was wondering did anybody get the galaxy s stock music player working on their nexus 4g? Ive seen other threads in the nexus s section but still no answers that worked I liked the player because it had it a built in equalizer and overall a good simple music player.
Wont work because it requires touchwiz framework. That's why it force closes. Only way would be to have a touchwiz rom which we dont. Hope this helps.

Ahh really not a touchwiz fan anyway thanks for the response
No problem.
Hey guys, i am getting a whole lot of lag when using ANY third party music player from Google Play. Works fine when using stock, but i hate the stock player on IncS. Can anyone help me fix this lag?? I am running stock everything (2.3.3 gingerbread OS, HTC Sense 2.1)

I've been playing with my Nexus 7 for about 5 days now and this just started happening. I thought I had too many tasks running so I closed everything, still happening. I rebooted and started playing again but it continued to stutter every 3-4 seconds. Any thoughts or is this happening to anyone else?
Not seeing that myself... just played it for a bit to make sure. To describe it as Butter would be appropriate. It is a much better experience than on my Galaxy Nexus, and that says a lot for what was a significant improvement over my Nexus S.

I had installed the app Ultimate Rotation Control which was causing the stuttering. I uninstalled it and it fixed the problem.
Running motley kernel, every game runs great.

More users have responded using this app (and similar apps) and experiencing these issues.
Uninstalling indeed fixes most stutterissues.

I have also experienced this. Stuttering on Dead Trigger. Ultimate Rotation Control removed, problem solved. Just glad I had the trial to decide and didn't pay for it.
I paid the license for Ultimate Rotation Control, was about to uninstall to avoid stutter but...
in the app, you can also edit the settings for each app.
So in order for games not to stutter, you can turn off this app.
Applied settings so this app wouldn't affect Riptide for example, result: no stutter
But still I got the rotation on the homescreens, landscape automatic etc.
So small piece of advice, play around with the settings for each game, homescreens, apps etc to avoid stutter.
It's really not a bad app after all
edit: just switched off (you see a screen with a red cross through in the settings of the app) Ultimate Rotation for all my games, youtube, videoplayers etc.. to avoid the stutter.
When opened in the app (if you switched off Ultimate Rotation for that specific app) you see the icon in your notification bar change to a small screen with cross so you know it's switched off.
Happy camper now no stutter in games, videos, youtube

This is good to hear, may have to give it another try. I can't say I noticed these features in the trial, do they only become available once youv'e purchased the pay for version?

I don't remember tbh.. the settings per app is the last line of functionality in the app itself when opened from the app drawer.
Just downloaded the trial again. I don't know how I managed to miss this first time around. Will give it a while and probably buy the lisence.
